French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said he did not believe the U.S. would invade the vast Arctic island that has been part of Denmark for over 600 years.
„There is obviously no question that the European Union would let other nations of the world attack its sovereign borders, whoever they are,“ he told France Inter radio. „We are a strong continent.“
Scott Jennings, who has been a vocal supporter of Trump, made the remark on CNN on Monday, saying that the U.S. would be able to overcome the Arctic territory because „there‘s not that many people there.“

Fourteen Eyes agreement countries
Fourteen Eyes (or 14 Eyes) refers to the intelligence group that consists of the Five Eyes member countries plus:
– Belgium
– Denmark
– France
– Germany
– Italy
– The Netherlands
– Norway
– Spain
– Sweden
These countries participate in SIGINT sharing as third parties. The official name of the Fourteen Eyes is the SIGINT Seniors of Europe (SSEUR), which has existed in one form or another since 1982. Similar to the UKUSA Agreement, its original mission was to uncover information about the USSR.
A SIGINT Seniors Meeting is attended by the heads of the SIGINT agencies (NSA, GCHQ, BND, the French DGSE, etc.) and is where they can share intelligence and discuss related issues. While this group has many of the same members as the “Nine Eyes”, it is a different group. According to leaked documents, the Fourteen Eyes is not a formal treaty but rather an agreement made between SIGINT agencies.

Later in the day, the Secretary General opened the new NATO accelerator site “Deep Tech Lab – Quantum” together with the Danish Minister of Defence, Troels Lund Poulsen; the Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, Morten Bødskov; and the Minister of Higher Education and Science, Christina Egelund. The Lab will help start-ups from across the Alliance commercialise quantum-enabled solutions, as part of NATO’s new Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA).
DIANA consists of a network of test centers and accelerator sites across NATO countries, where innovators develop new technologies to solve pressing security challenges. The Deep Tech Lab – Quantum in Copenhagen is one of five pilot accelerator sites launched in 2023.

A coalition of 11 nations decided during the recent NATO summit in Lithuania to start training Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 fighter jets in August in Denmark. A training center will also be set up in Romania for the same purpose.
NATO members Denmark and the Netherlands have been leading international efforts to train pilots as well as support staff, maintain aircraft and ultimately enable the supply of F-16s to Ukraine in its war with Russia, according to Reuters.

The Ministry of Defence of Denmark reported that Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden and the UK agreed to start the training of Ukrainians on the F-16 fighters.

Since its launch, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Denmark, the European Investment Bank, Norway, Sweden, the United States and Canada have joined the initiative as full members.
The Sahel Alliance has also 9 observer members: Japan, Belgium, Switzerland, Finland, the International Finance Corporation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, Ireland and the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie.

Die EU-weit einzigartige Sonderregelung bedeutet, dass sich das Land bislang zwar an zivilen, nicht aber an militärischen Missionen der EU und auch nicht an der gemeinsamen Entwicklung etwa von Waffensystemen beteiligen konnte.
Das Dänische Statens Serum Institut (vergleichbar etwa mit dem RKI in Deutschland) hat auf seiner Website nun Faktenchecks gegen „Häufige Fälle von Desinformation“ in Bezug auf Corona veröffentlicht – ähnlich wie man es auch aus Deutschland kennt. Nur werden hier eben keine Lockdown- oder Impf-kritischen Beiträge überprüft, sondern solche, die im Gegenteil die Corona-Gefahr übertreiben und Angst verbreiten.
In dem nördlichen EU-Land muss dann kein Mund-Nasen-Schutz mehr getragen werden. Auch Nachweise über Impfungen, Genesungen und negative Tests per CoV-Pass sind nicht mehr nötig. Großveranstaltungen können ungehindert über die Bühne gehen. Auch das Nachtleben darf wieder stattfinden. Covid-19 wird nicht mehr als „gesellschaftskritische Krankheit“ eingestuft.
§“Es ist natürlich in erster Linie Aufgabe der Behörden, die Öffentlichkeit korrekt, genau und ehrlich zu informieren. According to the Danish broadcaster, the NSA and Danish military service FE signed an agreement in 2008, which stated that the Americans would help Denmark tap internet cables in the European country. In return, the NSA gained access to internet cables to Eastern Europe. Together they processed the data in a data center near Copenhagen Airport, which was built for that purpose.

The government in Denmark has fired 3 top officials from the country’s foreign intelligence agency, the Forsvarets Efterretningstjeneste (FE), following revelations from a whistleblower. The officials, including the head of the agency, Lars Finden, have been “relieved of duty for the time being” following the release of a trove of documents. The documents detailed that the FE has been illegally spying on Danish citizens in the last six years and were released by an unnamed whistleblower to the independent regulator of Danish security services which is known as Tilsynet med Efterretningstjenesterne (TET).

Coronavirus hasn’t led to higher mortality rates
Since the first coronavirus-related death in Denmark on March 14, a total of 4,794 Danes have died. That’s roughly the same amount of people who died over the same period last year and the year before, according to figures from Danmarks Statistik. Over the same period in 2019, 4,498 Danes died, while 5,131 died in 2018. In fact, the mortality rate in Denmark from March 14-April 12 has remained at around 4,500 over the past five years, depending on flu epidemics.

The Japanese drug camostat mesylate has now arrived in Denmark and the first patient at Aarhus University Hospital is now testing the effect of the drug against COVID-19.
Just one week ago, researchers at Aarhus University Hospital and Aarhus University received DKK 5 million from the Lundbeck Foundation to test if a new Japanese drug against heartburn – camostat mesylate – is useful to treat the new coronavirus (COVID-19).
KroganLab Camostat mesylate binds to a protein on human cells called TMPRSS2. And SARS-CoV-2 needs this protein to efficiently enter human cells: The spike protein on top of the virus attaches to the ACE2 receptor on human cells. And then TMPRSS2 needs to make a cut in the spike.
In co-operation with other Nordic intelligence services, the defence minister, Trine Bramsen, has warned that foreign powers are willing to use to the coronavirus crisis to cause damage to Denmark.
In an interview with Jyllands-Posten newspaper, Bramsen said that the pandemic makes Denmark more vulnerable, and there are already examples of negative-impact campaigns being aimed at the Danes.

Researchers at the University of Aarhus are assessing an already established drug that could prevent the coronavirus from spreading into the human lungs and perhaps slow down the pandemic. Camostat mesylate was developed several years ago for the treatment of heartburn and pancreatitis in Japan, where it was approved by the Japanese Medicines Agency. A trial is planned to test it on 180 coronavirus patients across Denmark as early as next week.
According to the latest figures from the State Serum Institute, the number of COVID-19 coronavirus cases in Denmark is now at 864.
The figure has increased by 37 since the previous update yesterday morning.
And while the number of new cases seems to be tailing off, experts estimate that there are a significant number of unregistered cases across the country.
Denmark also experienced its first coronavirus-related death yesterday – and 81-year-old who was already admitted to hospital with other serious health issues.
Bei der EMASOH-Mission handelt es sich um keinen offiziellen Einsatz der Europäischen Union, sondern um eine Koalition der Willigen, die allerdings vom EU-Außenbeauftragten Joseph Borell umgehend mit warmen Worten begrüßt wurde. Das Hauptquartier soll in den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten liegen, die sich hierfür laut der EMASOH-Ankündigung bereits angeboten haben sollen. Veröffentlicht wurde die Ankündigung im Namen folgender Länder: Belgien, Dänemark, Deutschland, Frankreich, Griechenland, Italien, die Niederlande und Portugal. Ziel des Einsatzes sei es, ein „sicheres Umfeld für den Seeverkehr zu gewährleisten und die derzeitigen regionalen Spannungen abzubauen.“
Wie bereits angedeutet, beschränkt sich die Unterstützung von vier der acht Staaten zunächst einmal auf die Unterzeichnung der besagten Erklärung. Neben Deutschland sind das Belgien, Italien und Portugal.

France and Qatar signed an agreement allowing France to deploy and station military forces within Qatar.
The Netherlands said on November 25 that it would join Denmark and France in the European naval mission, reported the NLTimes. The Netherlands said it would deploy a navy ship to the Persian Gulf for six months but said it would play an “observing” role. Belgium, Italy, Norway, Spain and Sweden are also expected to join the European coalition, the Tehran Times reported.
Speaking on Sunday during a trip to Greenland, Mette Frederiksen called purchasing the island, a semi-autonomous Danish territory, “an absurd discussion”.
In a tweet on Tuesday evening, the US president said that since the prime minster had “no interest in discussing the purchase of Greenland”, he had decided to postpone their meeting.
