As-Sahab is the video production branch of Al Qaeda. They periodically release videos designed to remind people of Al Qaedaâs existence, issue threats, recruit members, and potentially act as a covert channel for triggering terrorist cells. Many of the videos by As-Sahab appear to have been manipulated.
On 20-Dec-2006, Dr. Ayman al Zawahiri (#2 guy in Al Qaeda) released a video. USA Today covered the video release with a headline story (Figure 25).24 USA Todayâs description of the video says, âHe wore a black turban and white robe … he had a rifle behind his right shoulder that was leaning against a plain brown backdrop.â While this is a valid description of the As-Sahab video, the picture used by USA Today did not show that image. Instead, USA Today used a picture from another video, dated 28-Sept-2006. This is an example of a mislabeled image.
The picture that USA Today chose to use with the story includes many other interesting features. First, it came from the IntelCenter (www.intelcenter.com) â an organization that tracks terrorist activities. The IntelCenter placed their logo in the top-right corner of the video. However, the company name is clearly cropped â likely by USA Today. A comparison with the same frame from the actual video shows many other observable differences. In particular, the IntelCenter adjusted the color and sharpness of the picture (Figure 26).

5.1 Other Al Zawahiri Videos
The video from 28-Sept-2006 was not the only manipulated video. In fact, many of the videos featuring al Zawahiri test positive for chroma-key masking. Consider the video released on 27-July-2006 (Figure 27).26 This video appears to show al Zawahiri sitting in a video studio.
When this video came out, many Americans became enraged at the US government. The main strife was generated
by a single argument: if al Zawahiri is sitting in a studio making videos, the why canât we catch him? The answer is simple: he is not in a studio.

5.2 Back in Black
Claiming that there was a chroma-key background is not the same as actually seeing it. On 22-Jan-2007, the SITE
Institute (www.siteinstitute.org) â an organization that tracks terrorist activities â announced that they had
intercepted an Al Qaeda video before it had been publicly released; SITE released it. Three days later, As-Sahab
also released the video. ….

At the Black Hat computer Hacker‘s conference held in Las Vegas last week, Neal Krawetz of „Hacker Factor“ showed how easily the MSM has been tricked into believing the fake images that al Qaeda has offered to further their propaganda. Krawetz specifically referred to two images, one the July 27, 2006 image of al Qaeda second in command al-Zawahiri supposedly sitting in a modern television studio. It was an image that had the tongues of the MSM and pundits alike wagging. How is it, they clucked, that al-Zawahiri could be sitting in a modern television studio yet still could not be found?
Krawetz demonstrated how the elements of the two images, however, are special effects and not real.

The video of Steven Sotloff‘s apparent murder appears to have been found by a private US intelligence firm before it could be released by the Islamic State.
News of Mr Sotloff‘s death was broken by the SITE Intelligence group, a private company that monitors jihadist activity and has close ties to the American intelligence community.
The group‘s analysts found the video on what a spokesman described as „a file-sharing site“ and send it out to its subscriber list. SITE‘s subscribers include government officials, journalists and academics involved in analysing terrorism.

The al-Qaeda video aired on Sept. 7 attracted international attention as the first new video message from the group‘s leader in three years. In it, a dark-bearded bin Laden urges Americans to convert to Islam and predicts failure for the Bush administration in Iraq and Afghanistan. The video was aired on hundreds of Western news Web sites nearly a full day before its release by a distribution company linked to al-Qaeda.
Computer logs and records reviewed by The Washington Post support SITE‘s claim that it snatched the video from al-Qaeda days beforehand. Katz requested that the precise date and details of the acquisition not be made public, saying such disclosures could reveal sensitive details about the company‘s methods.
Itâs no surprise that Benjamin Netanyahu immediately started to sabotage Donald Trumpâs Iran ceasefire, by launching murderous Israeli air attacks on Lebanon, which already killed more than 200 people. Itâs also, sadly, no surprise that the mainstream U.S. media did not report that Netanyahu and Israel were deliberately trying to torpedo the fragile ceasefire.

In comments first reported by state media, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told EU Council president AntĂłnio Costa that Iran has „the necessary will to end this war“ but expects certain guarantees in exchange.
Pezeshkian also said on Monday that any end to the war in the Middle East must „guarantee the security and interests of the Iranian people,“ according to comments first published by the state news agency IRNA and reported by regional media.

âBroadcasters that are running hoaxes and news distortions â also known as the fake news â have a chance now to correct course before their license renewals come up,â Carr wrote in a post on the social platform X.
âThe law is clear. Broadcasters must operate in the public interest, and they will lose their licenses if they do not,â he warned.
Amid surging oil prices and an unpopular war of choice in Iran, Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr is threatening not to renew the licenses of broadcasters for ârunning hoaxes and news distortions.â The Saturday post from Carr on X is not subtle: It explicitly warns broadcasters that they âhave a chance now to correct course before their license renewals come up.â
Carrâs missive came in response to a Truth Social post on Saturday from President Donald Trump, which the FCC chair included in full as a screenshot.

Hereâs what really happens when you get a loan from a bank:
– The bank doesnât go into a vault and hand you someone elseâs cash.
– The bank creates new money right then and there, by typing numbers into your account.
Thatâs right: Most of the money in our economy didnât exist until someone took out a loan!
The correspondence made clear that Attia maintained a relationship with Epstein long after the financier faced sex trafficking and prostitution charges. âI go into JE withdrawal when I donât see him.,â reads a line from Attia to Lesley Groff, who was an Epstein assistant. The remark, found in a January 2016 email, spurred negative reaction on social media.
News of his exit surfaced as Paramount Skydance is expected to make a new offer for Warner Bros. Discovery, and is the latest in a series of talent tangles the company has faced in recent days.
âNetanyahu wants mouthpieces. He wants media outlets that will applaud him while he evades responsibility, praise him while he sacrifices Israelâs security, and remain silent while he protects advisers and aides who betrayed the state and received money from Qatar, the same Qatar that funded Hamas and the October 7 massacre,â Golan says, referring to the ongoing investigation into senior Netanyahu aides accused of lobbying on behlaf of Qatar during Israelâs war against Hamas while being employed by the premierâs office.
âHe knows that a free and independent press poses a real threat to a corrupt government built on cover-ups. That is why he seeks to turn news channels into obedient, hollow mouthpieces that avoid criticizing him and his government,â he says.
Tory and Labour governments in Britain have provided every conceivable form of support for Israelâs genocidal project in Gaza. Peter Oborne, an independent-minded conservative journalist, has now provided us with a definitive record of their complicity.
Fearless and forensic, this incendiary indictment from one of Britainâs most celebrated political journalists lays bare the full extent of British complicity in the destruction of Gaza.
In a gripping narrative informed by original reporting, Peter Oborne tells how Britainâs Conservative and Labour parties converged to back Israelâs criminal assaultâin the process occupying disturbing common ground with the far right.
Rather than challenge this political cartel, British media colluded in its misrepresentations. The shocking result was that, as British authorities helped Israel set Gaza as well as international law aflame, almost everything the public was told about this momentous conflagration was untrue.
When citizens still turned out in their hundreds of thousands to demand a ceasefire, roiling the nationâs politics as they stayed faithful to the ancient British tradition of popular protest in defence of liberty, the political-media machine bared its fangs. The investigative reporting in this book exposes the methods by which peaceful demonstrations were smeared as âhate marchesâ.
Formerly chief political commentator at the Daily Telegraph and Spectator, Oborne knows the British establishment from within. In this book he names names and provides receipts. His demand is accountabilityâfor atrocities, and their accomplices.

Speaking to Kan, Feldstein said, âthe first taskâ he received from Netanyahu after October 7, 2023, was to stifle calls for accountability.
âHe asked me, âWhat are they talking about in the news? Are they still talking about responsibility?‘â Feldstein said. âHe wanted me to think of something that could be said that would offset the media storm surrounding the question of whether the prime minister had taken responsibility or not.â
He added that Netanyahu looked âpanickedâ when he made the request. Feldstein said he was later told by people in Netanyahuâs close circle to omit the word âresponsibilityâ from all statements.

Because what Feldstein portrayed was an office where Chief of Staff Tzachi Braverman allegedly said he could block an IDF investigation, where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu winked at circumventing the censor by releasing sensitive information to a foreign newspaper, and where officials close to Netanyahu were in the pay of Qatar and pushing favorable messages about that Hamas-supporting state during a time of war.
It wasnât an accounting of a single bad decision, but of an environment where lines were blurred and manipulation of the public, via the press, ruled the day.

Minister Assaf also called on Arab information ministers to collectively negotiate with global digital platforms to reverse their biased positions in favor of the occupation forces and their narrative, and to stop combating Palestinian content, asserting that the Palestinian narrative and discourse have triumphed over the fabricated Israeli narrative.
He called on concerned Arab and international institutions and bodies to intensify their efforts to document and expose the occupation‘s crimes against the Palestinian media and people, enhance solidarity campaigns, and pressure to end the unlawful protection enjoyed by the perpetrators.
„The male and female journalists in Palestine have embodied the highest meanings of national and professional belonging, and have continued to fulfill their noble mission of revealing the truth and conveying the suffering of our people to the world, despite all the dangers. The blood of the martyrs, the knights of truth, will remain a testament to the occupation‘s crimes and a motive for pursuing its perpetrators, until complete justice is achieved and impunity is ended,“ Assaf said.
CNNâs analysis of about 2,200 email threads found that at least 740 were exchanges between Epstein and prominent figures in academia, government, media and business. Epsteinâs correspondence with them, which also included numerous text messages, spanned a decade from 2009 to the day before his July 2019 arrest.
