The union man who unleashed a political earthquake in California
(March 25, 2026)
When Gavin Newsom stood before a room of economic elites in New York last December and derided a âsingle labor leaderâ pushing a tax on California billionaires, he never said his name. He didnât need to.
Everyone in California politics knows of Dave Regan, the legendarily combative health care union chief who has spent decades wielding Californiaâs ballot initiative system against the health care industry.
But his newest mission is on a scale orders of magnitude larger.
California billionaire tax headed for ballot despite top Democratsâ opposition
The push to put a billionaire tax to a popular vote in blue California has exposed deep divides on the left, even as Democratic politicians across the country rally around calls for the wealthy to pay more. The issue is pitting the populist mood of the public against many Democratsâ fears that the measure will push the ultrawealthy to join a broader exodus from the state and take their tax dollars with them.
Gavin Newsom fails to stop Californiaâs controversial billionaire tax from going to voters
(June 25, 2026)
SEIU-United Healthcare Workers West President Dave Regan refused to back down on the billionaire tax.
Immer dasselbe – in zeitlichen Schleifen, auratischen Wellen, historischen Episoden.
Hundreds Protest in Lod Against Crime in Arab Community; Anti-Government Rallies Nationwide
(June 14, 2026)
In Tel Aviv, approximately 1,000 demonstrators gathered at Habima Square. At the protest held at the Horev Center in Haifa, activist Nava Rozilio declared in her speech âIn spite of the far-right government, there will be democracy here, there will be the rule of law, and Jews and Arabs will live here in full equality. In spite of them, Israel will return to striving for peace instead of drowning in war.â
A joint demonstration of religious and secular citizens against the government also took place at the Ein HaNatziv junction near Beit Sheâan. This followed an incident the previous week where fascist counterprotesters passing by cursed and attacked the demonstrators. Hadash: No to Netanyahuâs Eternal War
(June 8, 2026)
âThe time has come to stop providing automatic backing for destructive policies that lead to endless bloodshed, and instead fight for diplomatic agreements, true security, and peace. No to war with Iran. No to Netanyahuâs eternal war.â
According to Hadash MK Ayman Odeh, âWar is the last resort for those who have no answers. War is the last resort of those who fear facing reality. And no one fears reality more than the Israeli government and large segments of the opposition, who repeatedly rush to align themselves behind the government, even attempting to outflank from the right the most right-wing and dangerous government in the countryâs history.â
âWere they truly brave, rather than warmongers, they would call for an immediate halt to the escalation and present an alternative to the public. And the alternative is clear: a peaceful agreement that ensures security for all peoples in the region and respects the national rights of both nations living on this land. It is impossible to keep running away from this issue. It is impossible to keep fearing to speak the truth. It is impossible to keep falling for the illusion that more wars will bring security. Therefore, I say here in the clearest possible way: No to war with Iran. No to the eternal war. Yes, to a peaceful agreement. Yes, to a different, safer, and more just future for all of us,â he agreed.
The Bill to Dissolve the Knesset Passed Its Preliminary Reading; MK Odeh: âThe Evil Govt is Ending its Pathâ
Earlier, a similar bill to dissolve the Knesset, introduced by the Hadash faction, was debated but failed, with 52 opposition lawmakers voting in favor and 61 against. âThe worst government ever, responsible for bloodshed on a horrific scale, is coming to an end,â MK Ayman Odeh stated in the Knesset plenum while presenting his factionâs bill. âWe are at a historic crossroads,â he emphasized
As AIPAC Spends Millions to Oust Him, Massie Unveils Bill Requiring Pro-Israel Lobby to Register as Foreign Agent

The bill, known as the Americans Insist on Political Agent Clarity (AIPAC) Act, would amend the Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938 (FARA), which requires those working to influence government policy on behalf of a foreign power to register with the US Department of Justice (DOJ).
Occupation Soldiers Detained Solidarity Delegations Supporting Palestinian Victims of Settlers Terror
he delegations to Bethlehem and the Jordan Valley, were stopped by soldiers and police officers, and activists held protests on the scene. In other areas, activities proceeded as planned. âWhile settler terror gangs operated across the West Bank unhindered, the police and army blocked hundreds of activists this morning who came to demonstrate solidarity with the victims,â one of the participants told Zo Haderekh.
Hundreds of activists from a wide range of organizations took part in the protest, including Partnership for Peace, Rabbis for Human Rights, Peace Now, Hadash, Zazim, The Parents Circle-Families Forum, Standing Together, Jordan Valley Activists, Looking the Occupation in the Eye, Women Wage Peace, A Land for All, Combatants for Peace, Breaking the Silence, and Mothers Against Violence.
Partnership for Peace stated: âHundreds of Israelis who set out to oppose terror and demand the state enforce the law in the occupied territories were detained at all checkpoints. It was proven that when the army wants to, it can act efficiently. We expect authorities to show the same determination in protecting innocent people who undergo daily violent pogrom attacks. We will not stop striving for peace, justice, and equality for all residents of the region.â âWe will continue the struggle against the occupation and ethnic cleansing! They will not succeed in stopping us!â they emphasized.
MK Odeh: Will do Everything to Prevent Smotrich-Netanyahu-Ben Gvir from Continuing in Power
Smotrichâs comments drew immediate condemnation from the opposition, with Raâam chairman Mansour Abbas asserting that âhuman life holds no value in his eyesâ. MK Ayman Odeh, the chairman of Hadash-Taâal parliamentary faction, also slammed Smotrich, declaring on X that âwhat the racists and Kahanists say is not important, what matters is what we will do.â âAnd we, the Arab citizens, together with the democratic Jews, will do everything, simply everything, to prevent Smotrich-Netanyahu-Ben Gvir from continuing to another term,â Odeh wrote.
GUIDO IS COMING DOWN AFTER 5 DAYS ON THE BRIDGE
After five days on top of the bridge, Guido is finally coming down.
Through wind, rain, and exhaustion, he stayed up there to sound the alarm about the wars in Iran, Gaza, Lebanon, and Palestine and to remind all of us that silence is not an option.
He risked his life to send a message and now we all have a responsibility to do more.
Thank you, Guido.

A protester who camped out atop one of Washingtonâs bridges for five days came down Wednesday morning, ending his stand against AI and the war in Iran.
Guido Reichstadter, a Florida-based activist, was seen coming down from one of the arches of the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge where he had been camped since May 1. His presence caused periodic traffic jams as Washington police closed lanes and negotiated with him.

Exclusive: Hezbollah MP Ibrahim Al-Moussawi Says âWe Will Be Respecting the Ceasefireâ
Al-Moussawiâs statement that this ceasefire is based on the original Iranian deal reached with the U.S. contradicts claims by Trump and Netanyahu that Lebanon would not be included, and by the U.S. State Department that the Lebanon ceasefire be a wholly separate deal.
„They went back to the same ceasefire agreement that has been reached to in Islamabad by the Iranian initiative,â Al-Moussawi told Drop Site. „We will be respecting the ceasefire and we will deal with it cautiously, actually. And the Israelis have to abide by it completely, comprehensively in all of the Lebanese territories, including the areas bordering Palestine. And it should include total cessation of the hostilities and restraint to the movement of the Israelis to stop their assassinations. And it should hopefully be a beginning of a course of the Israeli withdrawal from our occupied territories.“
Peace Activists to „Welcome Back“ Congress As They Return from Recess as the War on Iran Continues
WASHINGTON, D.C.â CODEPINK and the DC Against Trump Agenda Coalition announced plans to âwelcome backâ members of Congress on April 14, coinciding with Congress‘s return from recess, to demand an immediate end to the U.S. war on Iran.
The demonstration is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of Independence Avenue SE and New Jersey Avenue SE in Washington, D.C. After the âwelcomeâ reception, participants will flood the halls of Congress with the demands for peace. Activists will have banners that read, âNo War on Iranâ, âLet Cuba Liveâ, âStop Arming Israelâ, âFund Communities Not Warâ with Palestinian, Cuban, and Lebanese flags.
âCongress has been in recess while the war rages on. Itâs shameful but unsurprising,â explained CODEPINKâs Olivia DiNucci.
CPI and Hadash: The Ceasefire Is a Critical Step that Must Become a Permanent Peace
The Communist Party of Israel and the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (Hadash) condemned on Wednesday evening, April 8, âthe heinous and horrific massacre committed by the far-right Israeli government in Lebanon, only hours after the announcement of a temporary ceasefire in the war. This is a clear sign of the crisis facing war criminals, whose aggressive policies repeatedly fail to establish what they term the New World Order. Furthermore, Netanyahu and his government understand that ending the war signifies the collapse of their legitimacy and the end of their time in power.â
âWe view the ceasefire in the war with Iran as a crucial development that must be maintained, defended, and turned into a standing agreement that guarantees peace and rights for the peoples of the region, while standing firm against any Israeli attempt to thwart it. We emphasize that this war has once again exposed the failure of the policies of aggression and the imperialist bullying of the US and Israel. It has proven that the logic of force, destruction, and occupation does not create security or stability, but rather drags the entire region into further ruin and bloodshed. We reaffirm that the only path to security, stability, and a better future for all peoples of the land and the region is not the path of war and aggression, but a political path based on ending the occupationâas it is the heart of the regional conflictâand the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in all territories occupied by Israel in June 1967,â they said in the common communique.
MK Odeh After Cease-Fire was Announced: âNetanyahu is a Liar and an International Pyromaniacâ
On Wednesday morning, Hadash MK Ofer Cassif said, âCongratulations to the brilliant duo, Orange & Purple, on their impressive list of achievements (economic, strategic & political), culminating in finding the lost key to the Strait of Hormuz. We warned from the very beginning that this was nothing more than a futile and pointless war of deception that would only lead to bloodshed, widowhood, orphanhood, and devastation, without achieving anything. No to occupation, yes to peace.â
According to Hadash MK Ayman Odeh, âIsrael should learn three main lessons from the war: To recognize the limitations of power. There is no stability in the region without Israeli-Palestinian peace and Netanyahu is a liar and an international pyromaniac,â he wrote.
Protests Against Imperialist US-Israeli War on Iran in Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem
Dozens of Israeli activists alongside with US citizens living in Israel protested on Monday, April 6, against the imperialist US-Israeli led war on Iran and continued genocide in Gaza simultaneously in front of both a US Embassy office in Jerusalem and the US Consulate in Tel Aviv.
In Jerusalem, demonstrators marched to the front door of the Embassy office at Agron Street and laid signs against the war at the entrance. In Tel Aviv, police failed to prevent fascists from entering and harassing the protesters from the consulate at Hayarkon Street and shortly after used it as an excuse to disperse the demo. The protests were held in tandem with protests against President Donald Trump and against the war held on Monday around US cities.

On March 6th, 2026, an arrest campaign was started that shook the pro-Palestinian landscape in Tunisia. âą Ghassan Henchiri
âą Ghassan Boughediri
âą Sana Msahli
âą Dr. Mohamed Amine Ben Nour
âą Nabil Chennoufi â Member of the Global Steering Committee
Each of these 7 activists have played a vital role in the unprecedented GSF mission that was launched from Sidi Bou Said Port, Tunisia in September of 2025, an act that is protected under international law. Their mission was simply to deliver humanitarian aid to the besieged people of Gaza and to establish a humanitarian corridor.

As US Attacks Iran, Daniel Ellsberg Speaks to Us Once More
(March 2, 2026)
âDonât delegate conscience,â Daniel Ellsberg wrote.
âMost people conform and accept,â he noted. âA minority protest, withdraw. A tiny minority resist, take risks.â
âThe temptation is strong to obey powerful men passively and unquestioningly,â Ellsberg observed in 1971, the year he turned himself in for giving the Pentagon Papers to the press and faced the prospect of spending the rest of his life in prison.
He instantly became a pariah among colleagues whoâd been his friends at the RAND Corporation, a think tank serving the US war machine. Heâd been working there as a strategic analyst before and after a stint at the Defense Department.
âAfter I released the papers,â he vividly remembered, âsome people were afraid to write to me . . . to shake hands with me . . . to receive a phone call from me.â Three years later, his takeaway was: âAccept the risks of freedom and commitment, instead of the risks of obedience and conformity.â
Trumpâs attack on Iran âwonât make Epstein files go away,â GOP Rep. Massie says

Thomas Massie that would limit Donald Trump‘s ability to wage war in Iran without congressional approval. Rep. Khanna says of Trump who campaigned against forever wars: âNever in the modern history of this country has someone lied as blatantly in one office on such a false pretense.â
