The push to put a billionaire tax to a popular vote in blue California has exposed deep divides on the left, even as Democratic politicians across the country rally around calls for the wealthy to pay more. In Tel Aviv, approximately 1,000 demonstrators gathered at Habima Square. At the protest held at the Horev Center in Haifa, activist Nava Rozilio declared in her speech âIn spite of the far-right government, there will be democracy here, there will be the rule of law, and Jews and Arabs will live here in full equality. In spite of them, Israel will return to striving for peace instead of drowning in war.â
A joint demonstration of religious and secular citizens against the government also took place at the Ein HaNatziv junction near Beit Sheâan. This followed an incident the previous week where fascist counterprotesters passing by cursed and attacked the demonstrators. Additional protests were held across the country, including at the Karkur, Tzemach, and Gomeh junctions in the Galilee, as well as in Rosh Pina, Karmiel, Nahariya, the Beer Sheva Performing Arts Center, Elyakim Bridge, Haogen junction, Rehovot, Herzliya, Kfar Saba, the Kabri junction in the Western Galilee and Afula.

âWere they truly brave, rather than warmongers, they would call for an immediate halt to the escalation and present an alternative to the public. The bill, known as the Americans Insist on Political Agent Clarity (AIPAC) Act, would amend the Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938 (FARA), which requires those working to influence government policy on behalf of a foreign power to register with the US Department of Justice (DOJ).

A protester who camped out atop one of Washingtonâs bridges for five days came down Wednesday morning, ending his stand against AI and the war in Iran.
Guido Reichstadter, a Florida-based activist, was seen coming down from one of the arches of the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge where he had been camped since May 1. His presence caused periodic traffic jams as Washington police closed lanes and negotiated with him.
Explosive Media, one of the independent outfits generating the viral videos about the war in Iran, created a short piece on Saturday to honor the American father of two who climbed atop a bridge in the Washington, DC this weekend to demand an end to the conflict.
âIn honor of Guido Reichstadter, the man who climbed the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge to make his voice of protest heard,â the group said in a post alongside the video short. âYour dignity stands taller than the place you stood, and it will live forever in our memory.â
On Sunday morning, May 3, Reichstadter, 45, wrote: „Hands off Iran! Hands off Lebanon! Free Palestine!“ along with a photo of traffic beneath the bridge.

More than 4,000 people participated yesterday, Thursday, April 30, in the Peopleâs Peace Conference held at the Expo Tel Aviv, initiated by the âItâs Timeâ coalition. Over 80 organizations, movements, and non-profits took part in the event, which was dedicated to building public support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel, ending the occupation, and achieving Israeli-Palestinian peace. This is the third annual conference organized by the coalition, following large-scale events held at the Tel Aviv Arena and the International Convention Center in Jerusalem in 2024 and 2025.
Al-Moussawiâs statement that this ceasefire is based on the original Iranian deal reached with the U.S. contradicts claims by Trump and Netanyahu that Lebanon would not be included, and by the U.S. State Department that the Lebanon ceasefire be a wholly separate deal.
„They went back to the same ceasefire agreement that has been reached to in Islamabad by the Iranian initiative,â Al-Moussawi told Drop Site. „We will be respecting the ceasefire and we will deal with it cautiously, actually. And the Israelis have to abide by it completely, comprehensively in all of the Lebanese territories, including the areas bordering Palestine. And it should include total cessation of the hostilities and restraint to the movement of the Israelis to stop their assassinations. The Communist Party of Israel and the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (Hadash) condemned on Wednesday evening, April 8, âthe heinous and horrific massacre committed by the far-right Israeli government in Lebanon, only hours after the announcement of a temporary ceasefire in the war. Dozens of Israeli activists alongside with US citizens living in Israel protested on Monday, April 6, against the imperialist US-Israeli led war on Iran and continued genocide in Gaza simultaneously in front of both a US Embassy office in Jerusalem and the US Consulate in Tel Aviv.
In Jerusalem, demonstrators marched to the front door of the Embassy office at Agron Street and laid signs against the war at the entrance. In Tel Aviv, police failed to prevent fascists from entering and harassing the protesters from the consulate at Hayarkon Street and shortly after used it as an excuse to disperse the demo. The protests were held in tandem with protests against President Donald Trump and against the war held on Monday around US cities.
On March 6th, 2026, an arrest campaign was started that shook the pro-Palestinian landscape in Tunisia. The Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI), petitions the High Court of Justice, demanding an end to what they claim is an effective ban on political demonstrations during wartime, after police forcefully dispersed several protests against the government this past week. ACRI filed the on behalf of Itamar Greenberg, a student and leading Hadash activist arrested twice in the past weeks for partaking in demonstrations against the Iran war and the recently passed death penalty law.
