In a post by the Lebanese presidency on X, Aoun said Lebanon is committed to preserving peace, adding “anyone who fuels [division] provides a service to Israel”.
Aoun highlighted that Lebanon has lost more than 3,000 people during the conflict, with about one million displaced and thousands of homes destroyed.
“There is no horizon for ending this situation,” he said, adding it’s the state’s duty to protect its citizens and “there is no other option but negotiation”.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said that negotiations are „safer than war“, adding that the country has „no other choice“.
„We have seen, and continue to see, the devastation and consequences of war. Negotiations will not solve the problem overnight, but they are a process that takes time, and we have no other choice,“ Aoun told reporters.

Twice this week, U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed interest in turning Venezuela into his country’s 51st state. The latest came via a Truth Social post Tuesday with a map showing the South American country filled with the U.S. flag.
Previous statements doubting Venezuela’s sovereignty over the past 25 years have been met with immediate derision from senior government officials, including the president.

CIA director John Ratcliffe met with Venezuela‘s interim President Delcy Rodríguez for two hours Thursday in Venezuela‘s capital, Caracas, to „deliver the message that the United States looks forward to an improved working relationship,“ a U.S. official told CBS News Friday.
The official described the trip as historic, noting that Ratcliffe was the first Cabinet-level official to visit Venezuela since the U.S. military operation to remove the country‘s autocratic leader Nicolás Maduro nearly two weeks ago.

On April 14, the Lebanese and Israeli ambassadors to the United States, Nada Hamadeh and Yechiel Leiter, met in Washington with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The goal is ostensibly to extend the ceasefire while working “on longer term disarming of Hezbollah, along with a peace deal between the countries.” During the two hours in which the meeting took place, Israel bombed at least 23 towns in southern Lebanon; afterward, Leiter said that both Israel and Lebanon were united in “liberating Lebanon” from Hezbollah.

The European Union will expand the criteria of its Iran sanctions to include those responsible for blocking the Strait of Hormuz, two unnamed EU diplomats tell Reuters.
“There was a political agreement among ambassadors that we indeed would change the criteria in Iran’s sanctions regime so that we could also list persons and entities that are responsible for the obstruction of the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz,” one of the diplomats said.
In a statement, the Marine Corps veteran said the U.S. and Iran are currently negotiating „over critical questions of national security and international order“ during a tenuous ceasefire.
„I believe we must maintain a strong negotiation position over Iran’s nuclear program, freedom of movement in the international waters at the Strait of Hormuz, and how to achieve a durable peace between our two nations,“ said Golden, who serves on the House Armed Services Committee. „At this moment, a resolution like this would weaken our hand.“
The bill failed in a vote of 213-214, with just one Democrat, Rep. Jared Golden (ME), joining Republicans to kill the legislation. Only one Republican, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), voted in favor, while Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH), who supported a previous War Powers Resolution, voted “present.” Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), who previously suggested she might support the bill, didn’t vote.

In short: every government of a UN member state could bring in a resolution to the Assembly that, once it is adopted, requests an urgent advisory opinion of the World Court, the International Court of Justice.
And if the World Court decides so, Israel is being kicked out of the United Nations. That‘s it. The Security Council is meaningless on that matter.
So here is the question of questions, to all of you around the world: Although it has been publicly demanded, even promised by various governments – why hasn´t this happened yet?
Souveränität und Sicherheit sind nicht umsonst zu haben. Dafür braucht es Rückgrat, das der Iran in den vergangenen Wochen bewiesen hat und weiter beweist. Warum, wie, auf wessen Drängen auch immer spielt keine Rolle mehr, sobald die Entscheidung gefallen ist. Denn dann steht nicht nur seine Macht über die gesamte eigene Hierarchie, sowie aller eingegliederten und untergeordneten Hierarchien auf dem Spiel, sondern wiederum deren Macht, letztlich diese selbst. Daher muss Evil im Zweifel auch erobert werden, wenn der Sturz von dessen Hierarchie nicht gelingt.

Bleibt die Eroberung von Evil stecken bzw reicht die Zahl der organisierten und geführten Söldner und Milizen nicht aus, werden neue aufgestellt und alles beginnt von vorne. Die Hierarchie aller eingesetzten Proxy-Truppen endet dabei immer bei A, bzw dessen Untergebenen bei X1 und Z1. Die Proxy-Truppen können wahlweise kombiniert werden, untereinander überlaufen, sich neue Namen geben, eigene Territorien mit blumigen Namen gründen, etc, solange alle der Eroberung von Evil, oder alternativen Planmodellen dienen, wie der Zerschlagung von Evil, und / oder übergeordneten längerfristigen strategischen Zielen, wie der Zersetzung oder Zerschlagung noch vorhandener demokratischer Strukturen oder ganzer Staaten im eigenen Einflussbereich, z.B. durch die Erzeugung gewaltig-heiliger Intelligenz- und Erleuchtungswellen durch „mehr Atlantik“.
Eventuelle geostrategisch vermeintlich oder tatsächlich konkurrierende Hierarchien werden gekauft und ruhiggestellt, z.B. indem man ihnen das eigene Konzept zur Transformation des Herrschaftsbereiches andreht. Man versteht sich. Man will doch nicht streiten. Wo doch alle profitieren, von der Lage.
Eine Verschwörung hat nicht stattgefunden. Es sind einfach alle vernünftig.
Die amerikanischen Geheimdienste sind als militärische Einheiten organisiert. Daher vertritt Helmut Schäfer, ehemaliger Staatsminister im Auswärtigen Amt die Auffassung, dass die geheimdienstlichen Aktivitäten der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika in Deutschland auf dem Aufenthaltsvertrag und den Zusatzvereinbarungen zum NATO-Truppenstatut basieren.
