Die FDP-Europaabgeordnete Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann hat den Einsatz von deutschen Bodentruppen zur Friedenssicherung in der Ukraine nicht kategorisch ausgeschlossen. „Die Frage wird sein, wenn es erforderlich ist, die Ukraine zu sichern: Reicht es, das mit Aufrüstung zu machen? Bedarf es anderer Schutztruppen?“, sagte sie im gemeinsamen Morgenmagazin von ARD und ZDF.
Am 28./29. Mai 2026 schlug eine Drohne in ein Wohngebäude in Galați ein, nahe der ukrainischen Grenze. Es gab Verletzte, aber keine Toten. Statt besonnener Aufklärung folgte der übliche Reflex: Sofortige Schuldzuweisung an Russland, Forderungen nach NATO-Artikel 4 oder gar 5 und diplomatische Maßnahmen wie die Schließung des russischen Konsulats in Constanța. Der rumänische Präsident Nicușor Dan hat nun jedoch unmissverständlich erklärt: Russland hatte keine Absicht, Rumänien anzugreifen. Die Drohne war offenbar auf dem Weg zu einem ukrainischen Ziel (Hafen Reni) und wurde durch ukrainische elektronische Kriegsführung abgelenkt.

What is important is that Estonia was not the target of the attack,” emphasised Prime Minister Kristen Michal. “These are large-scale Ukrainian counter-attacks against the aggression of Russia, targeting the ports of Ust-Luga and Primorsk. These are the ports through which Russia exports energy resources, providing Putin with funds to wage war, undermine the independence of European and other countries, conduct war against Ukraine, and kill people. The attacks today occurred in three waves, and some of the drones which were used in the attack reached here.

Early this morning at 3.43 a.m., a drone struck the chimney of the Auvere power plant. No people were injured. Based on current information, the drone was not directed at Estonia but deviated here from its intended trajectory. Later, at around 8.30 a.m., another aerial object crossed Lake Peipus into Estonia, triggering the hazard alert system.

Estonia‘s Internal Security Service said a drone entered the country from Russia and slammed into the chimney of a power station, while Latvia‘s armed forces reported a drone crashing onto the country‘s territory without causing any damage.
Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs said the drone was Ukrainian. Estonian officials said the the stray drones entered from Russian air space „during a Ukrainian counterattack.“

Today, February 24, marks exactly four years since Putin was taking Kyiv in three days, and this speaks volumes about how Ukraine has been fighting all this time, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.
„Today marks exactly four years since Putin was taking Kyiv in three days. And this actually says a lot about our resistance, about how Ukraine has been fighting all this time. Behind these words are millions of our people. Behind these words is great courage, very hard work, endurance, and a long journey that Ukraine has been overcoming since February 24,“ Zelenskyy says in an address on the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion by Russia.

Epstein was keen to profit from armed conflicts on the African continent. While negotiating DP World’s access to Nigeria, he was also helping Zeitlin navigate around U.S. sanctions on Ivan Glasenberg, the Israeli-South African CEO of mining giant Glencore, and Oleg Deripaska, then-chairman of the Russian aluminum titan Rusal. Glencore’s operations had been disrupted by a fraud probe into their dealings with Israeli mining kingpin Dan Gertler in Congo-Kinshasa. “Do you know Oleg Deripaska or Ivan Glasenberg?” Zeitlin asked Epstein. “Easy,” Epstein replied.
The American financier had deep ties to Israeli mining and military outfits in Africa, which he helped support alongside former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak—a close associate with whom Epstein corresponded almost daily. “With civil unrest exploding in ukraine syria, somolia, libya, and the desperation of those in power,” Epstein wrote in a 2014 email to Barak, “isn’t this perfect for you.” Barak replied, “You’re right [in] a way. But not simple to transform it into a cash flow.”
It is on this basis that we support, and will continue to support Ukraine and that we have built a coalition of the willing for a robust and lasting peace, to defend these principles and our security.
It is also on this basis that we decided to take part in the exercise organized by Denmark in Greenland. We fully assume this decision, because security in the Arctic and at the outer edges of our Europe is at stake.
No intimidation or threat will influence us—neither in Ukraine, nor in Greenland, nor anywhere else in the world when we are confronted with such situations.
Tariff threats are unacceptable and have no place in this context. Europeans will respond in a united and coordinated manner should they be confirmed. We will ensure that European sovereignty is upheld.
It is in this spirit that I will engage with our European partners.

Dazu ein paar Klarstellungen, weder kurz, noch schmerzlos.
Ich spare mir zu Anfang die Erklärungen und setze diese unter die konkreten kurzfristigen und langfristigen Maßnahmen und Bedingungen, mit denen zunächst der Angriffskrieg der russischen Regierung unter Kommando Präsident Putins gegen die Ukraine und dann langfristig der Krieg in der Ukraine insgesamt beendet werden kann.
Die Maßnahmen bzw Bedingungen für und in der Ukraine.
– Neutralität, also weder Mitgliedschaft im Nordatlantikpakt N.A.T.O., noch in der Europäischen Union. Modell ähnlich wie Yugoslawien und Finnland nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg.
– bestimmt nicht demilitarisiert, sondern bis an die Zähne bewaffnet, allerdings ohne Atomzähne jedweder Art, weder Entwicklung noch Stationierung
– nach Wahl der ukrainischen Regierungen bzw Parlamentsmehrheiten jeweils Handelspakte und Waffenlieferungen mit bzw durch E.U. und N.A.T.O., ähnlich wie mit der Schweiz oder Schweden.

Was eine (weitere) verantwortliche, eine rationale, eine solidarische Maßnahme aus dem Weißen Haus wäre, ähnlich wie die Zurückhaltung was die Provokationen aus dem Kreml angeht: von sich aus auf eine N.A.T.O.-Mitgliedschaft der Ukraine zu verzichten. Neben der Lieferung von Defensivwaffen gäbe es nichts Besseres, was „der Westen“ derzeit für die Ukraine tun kann. Man könnte vielleicht auch verkünden, man habe sich in den letzten 30 Jahren mit der N.A.T.O. genug gedehnt. Und zwanzig Jahre lang genug ruhmreichen Terrorkrieg geführt. Ein paar Millionen Tote würden nun reichen.
Zelenskiy said in his WhatsApp chat that a U.S. troop presence in Ukraine would be a major security boost for Kyiv.
„Of course, we are discussing this with President Trump and with representatives of the (Western) coalition (supporting Kyiv). We want this. We would like this. This would be a strong position of the security guarantees,“ he said.
The White House had no comment on the issue of dispatching U.S. troops to Ukraine under any peace settlement with Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has told reporters after a meeting with US President Donald Trump that the US security guarantees for Ukraine are indicated in the documents for 15 years with the possibility of extension.
„I told him (Trump – IF-U) that we are already at war and it has been going on for almost 15 years. Therefore, I would really like the guarantees to be longer. And I told him that we would really like to consider the possibility of 30-40-50 years. And this will then be a historic decision by President Trump. The President said that he would think about it,“ Zelenskyy said.
The agreement between Ukraine and the United States is almost ready, and the issue of its signing depends on the course of the meeting with US President Donald Trump, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
„In my opinion, the agreement between us and the United States is almost ready. Whether or not we sign is, in my opinion, the second question, depending on the format of our meeting,“ Zelenskyy told reporters on Friday.
„Yes, we‘re currently on a plane en route to Florida in the United States. On the way, we will stop in Canada, where I will meet with Prime Minister Carney. He and I plan to communicate with European leaders online, discuss all issues, and exchange details of the documents that I will discuss with the President of the United States,“ Zelenskyy told reporters on Saturday.
„Where is the Russian response to the proposals to end the war, which were made by the United States and the world?“ Zelensky said in a statement shared on his Telegram channel.
„Russian representatives are having long conversations, but in reality, the Kinzhals (missiles) and Shaheds (drones) are speaking for them. This is the real attitude of (Russian President Vladimir) Putin and his entourage. They do not want to end the war.“
Kyiv came under a mass combined missile and drone attack overnight on Dec. 27.
The attack started with Russia launching several Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, Iskander ballistic missiles, and a group of Kalibr cruise missiles at the capital shortly before 2 a.m. Kyiv time, monitoring channels reported.

Putin, 73, has ruled the country for 25 years and uses the event to cement his power and air his views on domestic and global affairs during a broadcast that mixes criticism of the West with promises of more social payments. Although he is sometimes asked about his personal life, he gives scant details.
This year, the news conference took place against the backdrop of a peace plan in Ukraine put forward by U.S. President Donald Trump. Despite the extensive diplomatic push, Washington’s efforts have run into sharply conflicting demands from Moscow and Kyiv.
But overall, the bill represents a compromise between the parties. It implements many of Trump‘s executive orders and proposals on eliminating diversity and inclusion efforts in the military and grants emergency military powers at the U.S. border with Mexico. It also enhances congressional oversight of the Department of Defense, repeals several years-old war authorizations and seeks to overhaul how the Pentagon purchases weapons as the U.S. tries to outpace China in developing the next generation of military technology.
And it has a provision to withhold a chunk of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth‘s travel budget if he does not provide Congress with unedited videos of military strikes on boats in the southern Caribbean and eastern Pacific. The Trump administration has said the strikes are directed at Venezuelan drug-traffickers.
