The Tuesday trifecta – sanctions, weird party slate and the Haaretz Oct. 7 bombshell – could have more impact later.
After the submission of party lists ahead of the Knesset elections, the coalition bloc has strengthened by three seats to 50, following People of Israel’s crossing of the electoral threshold. This is according to a Maariv poll conducted by Lazar Research, headed by Dr. Menachem Lazar, in cooperation with Panel4ALL.
However, Likud has lost one seat, falling to just 19, its lowest figure since May 29, 2025.

„We know that Egypt has warned the Israelis three days prior that an event like this could happen,“ Mr McCaul told reporters following a closed-door intelligence briefing on Wednesday for lawmakers about the Middle East crisis, according to AFP news agency.
„I don‘t want to get too much into classified, but a warning was given,“ the Texas Republican added. „I think the question was at what level.“
According to reports from Israel Defense Forces (IDF) radio, prior to the alleged UAE warning, Israel‘s internal security agency had received similar warnings from Egypt, which were communicated to Prime Minister Netanyahu. Egyptian intelligence services issued only a „general warning,“ without providing specific details, about the Palestinian movement‘s intention to „shake the ground in Gaza.“

JERUSALEM (AP) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was directly warned by the president of the United Arab Emirates that Hamas was planning a major offensive just days before the militant group attacked on Oct. 7, 2023, according to an Israeli newspaper report.
UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed spoke with Netanyahu 10 days before the attack and said Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in Gaza at the time, was planning an operation, the Haaretz daily said.

„We are benefiting from one thing, and that is the attack on the Twin Towers and Pentagon, and the American struggle in Iraq,“ Ma‘ariv quoted the former prime minister as saying. He reportedly added that these events „swung American public opinion in our favor.“
Netanyahu reportedly made the comments during a conference at Bar-Ilan University on the division of Jerusalem as part of a peace deal with the Palestinians.

Asked tonight what the attack meant for relations between the United States and Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, the former prime minister, replied, “It‘s very good.“ Then he edited himself: “Well, not very good, but it will generate immediate sympathy.“ He predicted that the attack would “strengthen the bond between our two peoples, because we‘ve experienced terror over so many decades, but the United States has now experienced a massive hemorrhaging of terror.“

A week later, the Village Voice states, “From national networks to small-town newspapers, the view that America’s terrible taste of terrorism will finally do away with even modest calls for the restraint of Israel’s military attacks on Palestinian towns has become an instant, unshakable axiom.… Now, support for Israel in America is officially absolute, and Palestinians are cast once again as players in a global terrorist conspiracy.”

KFAR REMMAN, Lebanon—“They are killing children. That’s what they’re doing,” Baker Malak said, pointing to the tiny coffins being carried through the streets of the town of Kfar Remman in southern Lebanon on Tuesday. He walked alongside hundreds of mourners in a funeral procession to bury 12 members of a single family, half of them children, killed in an Israeli airstrike on their home a day earlier.
Nearby, mourners carried the coffin of 18-year-old paramedic Ali Shahrour, killed in a separate strike on the town the same day. The procession wound through streets scarred by months of bombardment as an Israeli drone buzzed incessantly overhead
An investigation published by ‚Haaretz‘ claims the Israeli prime minister was informed by UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed, 10 days before the attack, that Hamas was planning a major operation against Israel.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received an explicit warning about a major operation being planned by Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar shortly before the October 7 attack, according to a new book by journalists Shlomi Eldar and Ruth Yuval. The account also alleges that Netanyahu received a separate warning from Egypt in the days before the massacre and later declined to authorize a renewed proposal to target senior Hamas leaders, including Sinwar.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry says Israel has killed 4,362 people and wounded 12,378 in attacks across the country since 2 March.
Israel has continued bombing Lebanon and occupying parts of its territory despite a ceasefire that took effect on 17 April and was renewed on 26 June.
GAZA, September 5, 2026 (WAFA) — Health authorities in the Gaza Strip said today that the death toll from Israel‘s ongoing aggression on the Strip has risen to 73,651, while 174,575 Palestinians have been injured since October 7, 2023.
Hospitals in Gaza reported that they received 17 bodies over the past 48 hours, including five newly killed Palestinians, one who succumbed to injuries, and 11 bodies recovered from under the rubble, in addition to 27 injured Palestinians.
GAZA, September 5, 2026 (WAFA) – Rescue teams in the Gaza Strip recovered on Saturday the remains of 55 Palestinians from beneath the rubble of a home destroyed by Israeli forces in the Zeitoun neighborhood, south of Gaza City, on November 19, 2023, during the genocidal war.
The rescue teams said they recovered the bodies and remains of 55 Palestinians from beneath the rubble of the Malka family home, which Israeli forces destroyed while more than 60 people had sought shelter inside after being displaced from their homes in fear of intense Israeli bombardment nearly two years ago.
The latest casualties include five new fatalities, one person who died from previous wounds and 11 bodies recovered from beneath debris. Additional victims remain trapped under rubble or lying in the streets, with ambulance and civil defence teams still unable to reach them, it added.
In April 2026, UN OCHA reported 925 movement obstacles that permanently or intermittently restrict the movement of 3.4 million Palestinians in the West Bank, marking a 20-year high that is 43% more than the annual average during the last 20 years. Other land confiscation orders for the expansion of settler infrastructure and roads have been issued by the Israeli military in other parts of the West Bank, including Qusra – Nablus governorate, and Kufr Ni’meh – Ramallah governorate.
“Israel’s shameless use of land seizure orders to dispossess Palestinians and accelerate the annexation of the occupied Palestinian territory must be stopped immediately. By confiscating Palestinian land to expand its illegal settlements, Israeli authorities are escalating long-standing violations of international law and further entrenching a system of dispossession and oppression. Israel must immediately halt these unlawful land seizures and end the relentless expansion of illegal settlements,” said Heba Morayef.
“The international community must move beyond rhetoric and take concrete steps to uphold its legal obligations to bring Israel’s violations to an end.
Forced displacement of civilians in occupied territory is considered a war crime under the Geneva Conventions.
„There is no real solution for Gaza in the end without this migration,“ Defence Minister Israel Katz told a conference hosted by Israeli news site Ynet and newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
The Israeli government „is organised and prepared to get them out—by sea, by air, by every way possible“, he said.
Since the start of the war, the Rapid Support Forces leadership has maintained high-level contacts with Tel Aviv. Its senior figures and leader‘s family members have made several trips there in a security cooperation that predates the conflict.
According to the investigation published on Friday, two RSF delegations travelled to Tel Aviv – one in May 2025, and another in February 2026.
Africa Intelligence found that members of the delegations convened with officials within the Africa Division of Israel’s foreign ministry and with Israeli intelligence.
The investigation reported that the contacts were embedded in a security and intelligence partnership that began before the outbreak of Sudan’s war in April 2023.
“We cannot ignore the numbers: 104 communities that we established and legalised together, and 160 farms, with more to come,” Netanyahu said.
Israel has faced growing international outrage over its settlement expansion, as violence by settlers against Palestinians soars.
GAZA, August 25, 2026 (WAFA) — Medical sources in the Gaza Strip said on Sunday that the death toll from Israel’s ongoing aggression on the Strip has risen to 73,431 Palestinians killed and 174,437 injured since October 7, 2023.
They said Gaza hospitals received nine fatalities over the past 24 hours.
