Kuwait International Airport says it has resumed Kuwait Airways flights from Terminal 4 after suspending them following Iran’s drone and missile strikes.
The move comes “following the completion of the technical teams and competent authorities’ assessment of the damages and taking the necessary measures to ensure the safety of operational processes”, the official Kuna news agency reported.
Am 28./29. Mai 2026 schlug eine Drohne in ein Wohngebäude in Galați ein, nahe der ukrainischen Grenze. Es gab Verletzte, aber keine Toten. Statt besonnener Aufklärung folgte der übliche Reflex: Sofortige Schuldzuweisung an Russland, Forderungen nach NATO-Artikel 4 oder gar 5 und diplomatische Maßnahmen wie die Schließung des russischen Konsulats in Constanța. Der rumänische Präsident Nicușor Dan hat nun jedoch unmissverständlich erklärt: Russland hatte keine Absicht, Rumänien anzugreifen. Die Drohne war offenbar auf dem Weg zu einem ukrainischen Ziel (Hafen Reni) und wurde durch ukrainische elektronische Kriegsführung abgelenkt.

We call on the Government of Israel to …
– U.S. reportedly knew of at least one Israeli base since June 2025 but likely withheld information from Iraq.
– Iraq was compelled to shut down its radar to protect U.S. aircraft during both the 12-day war and the 2026 conflict.
– The concealment of Israeli operations intensified scrutiny over Iraq’s sovereignty and coalition transparency.
– Iraqi political figures called for full transparency and stronger oversight mechanisms to prevent foreign intrusion.
Iraqi air defense systems detected no trace of the three drones that struck Saudi facilities, the Foreign Ministry said Monday, announcing an investigation into how the aircraft crossed Iraqi territory undetected.
The ministry called on Riyadh to share relevant intelligence to help establish what happened, while reaffirming Baghdad‘s rejection of any threat to Saudi security or sovereignty.
In a deeply embarrassing development for Baghdad, Israel established two forward-operating bases (FOBs) for supporting air campaigns against Iran on federal Iraqi territory in a flagrant violation of Iraq’s already fragile sovereignty.
The Wall Street Journal reported the first base’s existence, in the barren Nukhaib desert southwest of the Shia shrine cities of Najaf and Karbala, on 9 May. The New York Times further revealed Sunday that Israel also set up a second base somewhere else in the country’s western desert regions that it operated for over a year and even used during the June 2025 12-day war.

The physical record is not seriously in dispute, and it begins with a shepherd. On March 4, a local herder in the remote desert southwest of Najaf and Karbala reported unusual helicopter activity to military authorities in Najaf. Iraqi forces were dispatched. They came under fire from the air. One soldier was killed, and two were wounded. Baghdad submitted a protest note to the Global Coalition without naming who had fired, and the incident was quietly classified —until the Wall Street Journal named the party responsible on May 9.

Mit seinen Beschlüssen 2 BvE 5/15 (verkündet am 14.10.2016, aber schon vom 20.09.2016) und 2 BvE 2/15 (verkündet am 15.11.2016, aber schon vom 13.10.2016) gab das Bundesverfassungsgericht das unauffällige Startsignal für den Beschluss des neuen B.N.D.-Gesetzes am 21.10.2016 im Bundestag.
Die Absegnung des B.N.D.-Gesetzes durch ihre Über-Dreiviertel-Mehrheit im Parlament, gegen die es laut Karlsruhe nun keine Opposition mehr im Sinne von Artikel 44 des Grundgesetzes gab, hatte die Regierung bis zu den Freifahrtscheinen der Verfassungsrichter taktisch verzögert.
Am 12. Dezember 1970 hatte das „Abhörteil“ (BVerfGE 30, 1) vom Verfassungsgericht Westdeutschlands die Aufhebung der Gewaltenteilung beim Brief-, Post- und Fernmeldegeheimnis durch die Verfassungsänderungen der „Notstandsgesetze“ als verfassungsgemäß beurteilt. Das damalige Urteil war gegen schwerste Bedenken und vorausschauende Warnungen der Verfassungsrichter Geller, Dr. v.Schlabrendorff und Dr. Rupp mit 5 zu 3 Stimmen entschieden worden.
Im Jahre 2016 nun übertrugen Andreas Voßkuhle, Peter M. Huber, Monika Hermanns, Sibylle Kessal-Wulf, Peter Müller, Doris König und Ulrich Maidowski die Machtfülle der in 1968 unter Besatzungsrecht geschaffenen „Notstandsgesetze“ der damaligen „großen Koalition“ auf deren heutige Nachfolger.
Und in Deutschland, wie es heute ist, eskalierten die Verfassungsrichter selbst die damalige antidemokratische und antiparlamentarische Auslegung des Grundgesetzes ein weiteres Mal…
Der „Gesetzentwurf zur Stärkung digitaler Ermittlungsbefugnisse in der Polizeiarbeit“, der „Gesetzentwurf zur Stärkung digitaler Ermittlungsbefugnisse zur Abwehr von Gefahren des internationalen Terrorismus“ und der „Gesetzentwurf zur Änderung der Strafprozessordnung“ legen die Grundlage dafür, dass Ermittlungsbehörden Gesichtsbilder mit Aufnahmen aus dem Internet abgleichen können und automatisierte Datenanalysen durchführen dürfen. Warum sie das brauchen? Unter anderem wegen der „hohen abstrakten Bedrohungslage“, erklärt der Vorspann der Entwürfe.

Das Gesetz verpflichtet Internet-Zugangs-Anbieter, IP-Adressen und Port-Nummern sämtlicher Nutzer drei Monate lang zu speichern, ohne Anlass und ohne Verdacht auf eine Straftat.
Behörden dürfen ohne Richtervorbehalt auf die Vorratsdaten zugreifen. Mit dem Gesetz gegen digitale Gewalt sollen auch Privatpersonen in Zivilverfahren auf die Vorratsdaten zugreifen.

Besonders alarmierend: Die geplanten Regeln würden sogar erlauben, solche Gesichter-Suchen an private Firmen im Ausland auszulagern. Damit wäre praktisch nicht mehr kontrollierbar, was mit den Daten passiert und bei wem sie letztendlich landen.
Gleichzeitig wird das Ganze mit einer Erlaubnis zur automatisierten Datenanalyse verknüpft, wie sie der US-Konzern Palantir anbietet:

Was sich da im Diskurs zeigt, nennen wir eine Purifizierung, eine rituelle Läuterung also, durch die bisherige zentrale Kritiken an Formen der Videoüberwachung direkt adressiert und gleichzeitig abgestreift werden. Die Purifizierung erhöht die Durchsetzbarkeit der Maßnahme, weil die Bewegungsmusteranalyse jetzt als sozusagen gute Überwachung erscheint.

Angeblich nur zu Werbezwecken erhoben, fließen die Daten über populäre Handy-Apps auf teils verschlungenen Wegen in die Hände von Databrokern. Potenziell betroffen sind alle Menschen, die ein Smartphone nutzen.

Background
The Supreme Court last weighed in on the digital Fourth Amendment in 2017. In Carpenter v. United States, the court addressed whether the police had to get a warrant before accessing a certain kind of digital location data, cell-site location information. Cell phones generate CSLI anytime they are on by scanning for the nearest cell tower with strong service. When a cell phone connects to a tower, that tower then records that connection in CSLI logs. A phone’s location can be tracked across time and space by reviewing those logs.
Writing for a 5-4 majority, Chief Justice John Roberts’ Carpenter opinion held that the police must get a warrant before reviewing seven or more days of CSLI for a person’s phone. (…)
Enter: geofence data
Among these unsettled questions is whether police need a warrant to access geofence data, another kind of digital location data. Geofence data generally refers to location information collected by cellphone apps. If you have encountered a prompt on your phone that asks you whether you’d like to allow an app to use your location, you’re likely generating the kind of data at issue in Chatrie. Chatrie specifically involved data generated by a Google service called Location History. In Google’s case, this location information was created by combining information from cell towers but also on GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth signals.

The book also reveals that the decision to sack Mandelson was taken by McSweeney, not Starmer. On the day the PM defended Mandelson in the Commons, McSweeney was in a secure basement conference room without his phone when two of Starmer’s closest aides – Paul Ovenden and Stuart Ingham – came to find him. Though it has grown over the past fifty years, the Policy Unit today still comprises fewer than thirty special advisers and junior Whitehall officials. This little platoon tends to be most effective when it acts as both the prime minister’s “eyes and ears”, to borrow Wilson’s phrase, and what Sarah Hogg, John Major’s policy chief, termed “the grit and oil in the government machine.” In other words, the Policy Unit works best by offering the prime minister unvarnished intelligence and advice about the direction of departmental policy, while giving Whitehall strategic clarity about what the prime minister wants or doesn’t want.

Still, compared to their Iranian counterparts, Israel’s far-right lawmakers have a long way to go. The list of offenses warranting a death sentence in Iran is dizzying in its scope, including burglary, prostitution, drug trafficking, homosexuality, political dissidence, adultery, and “waging war against God.”
Under Israel’s new law, executions are to be carried out by hanging at a facility managed by the Israel Prison Service. How dull. Here, too, Ben Gvir can take inspiration from the Islamic Republic. What about a public hanging in the town square? Entertainment for the masses is not something to scoff at in these difficult times, and it’s free of charge.
And why restrict himself to only one method? The Islamic Republic has also carried out executions by firing squad, stoning, and pushing people off a cliff. Would stoning not serve as a fitting tribute to Ben Gvir’s professed commitment to Jewish tradition?
