UN peacekeeper from Indonesia dies after Lebanon attack: UNIFIL
With Rico’s death, Indonesia has lost four soldiers serving with UNIFIL in southern Lebanon over the past month.
Among them was Private First Class Farizal Rhomadhon, who died in an artillery attack on March 29 in the same incident that initially left Rico wounded.
On March 30, two Indonesian soldiers, Captain Zulmi Aditya Iskandar and Sergeant Muhammad Nur Ikhwan, were killed when the convoy they were escorting came under attack.

Die operative Frage lautet deshalb nicht mehr, ob der Staat digital wird, sondern mit welcher Durchdringung er unser Leben überwacht, interpretiert und vorherzusagen versucht.
Israeli forces destroy UN peacekeeper cameras in south Lebanon
A UN security official said „17 of the headquarters‘ cameras have been destroyed by the Israeli army“ in Naqura within 24 hours. Unifil spokesperson Kandice Ardiel said „the cameras appear to have been destroyed by some kind of laser“.
She added that „(Israeli) soldiers are present in Naqura and have been undertaking massive demolitions of buildings in the village this week“.

Wir haben bereits dargelegt, warum es in Deutschland keine unabhängige Justiz und damit keine vollständige Gewaltenteilung gibt – weil das Grundgesetz den Staat nicht ausdrücklich dazu zwingt. Das Grundgesetz schreibt dem Staat lediglich die Unabhängigkeit der Richter vor, nicht die der Justiz insgesamt. Daraus interpretiert der Staat für sich das Recht, die Staatsanwaltschaften bzw Ankläger der Exekutive anzugliedern.
Auf Bundesebene heißt das konkret: der Generalbundesanwalt und seine Behörde (allgemein Bundesanwaltschaft) unterstehen dem Justizminister. Daraus schlussfolgert, dass nach eventuellen Staatsverbrechen und / oder Verfassungsbrüchen durch ihre eigenen Organe – Kanzleramt, Ministerien, Behörden, Militär, Geheimdienste, etc, – die Regierung gegen sich selbst ermitteln müsste.
Zieht also die Bundesanwaltschaft bzw der Generalbundesanwalt ein Verfahren an sich, zieht es die Regierung an sich.
Verbleibt noch die Möglichkeit, dass das Parlament Untersuchungsausschüsse einsetzt, dass durch diese die betreffenden Staatsverbrechen aufgeklärt und dann öffentlich bekannt werden, dem folgend durch Wahlen eine Änderung der parlamentarischen Mehrheiten erfolgt, dann eine Neuwahl des Kanzlers / der Kanzlerin durch das Parlament, dann durch den Kanzler / die Kanzlerin eine Ernennung eines neuen Justizministers erfolgt (Minister / Ministerinnen werden nicht gewählt), dann durch den Justizminister / die Justizministerin eine Ernennung eines neuen Generalbundesanwalts oder eine Anweisung an den amtierenden Generalbundesanwalt erfolgt Ermittlungen gegen die damaligen oder immer noch amtierenden staatlichen Funktionäre bzw Stellen aufzunehmen und dass dieser dann der Anweisung des vorgesetzten Justizministers folgt. Wobei dann ggf die Ermittlungen durch die Regierungsbehörden (Geheimdienste, Bundeskriminalamt) erfolgen müsste, gegen die ermittelt wird.
American Medical Association: Help Release Dr. Husam Abu Safiya!
In December 2024, Dr. Husam Abu Safiya was illegally abducted by the Israeli military after raiding his hospital, Kamal Adwan Hospital. This was one of the last functioning hospitals in Gaza, and Israel made sure to destroy it and kidnap its leadership so Palestinians could not be treated medically. Now, Dr. Husam Abu Safiya is locked away in one of Israel’s most dangerous prisons and is held with no charge.
What happened to Dr. Abu Safiya is a crime against humanity, and we must call on our institutions to speak out against the abuse of their own colleagues. The American Medical Association (AMA) has not done nearly enough to help in the release of their medical professional colleagues.

“What is unfolding in El Fasher recalls the horrors Darfur was subjected to twenty years ago,” Mr. Fletcher said, referring to the atrocities of the early 2000s that shocked the world and eventually led to International Criminal Court indictments.

Totalüberwachung, und damit ermöglichte politische Verfolgung, wird nun „gezielt“ erlaubt

Die Vorgänge repräsentieren nicht nur den Totalausfall einer weiteren Generation von Deutschen und die Legasthenie ihrer Fachidioten. Sie werfen auch ein Schlaglicht auf weltweite Datenbanken von Geheimdiensten, Anwaltsfirmen und Banken und deren politische Verfolgung von „politischen Individuen“.
Die seit 2002 durch den Staat offen praktizierte, aber von fast allen ignorierte „strategische Überwachung der Telekommunikation“ an deren Infrastruktur wird nächsten Freitag durch das Parlament im neuen B.N.D-Gesetz präzisiert.
Hinweis 09.07.16: das Gesetz, Drucksache 18/9041, wurde in erster Lesung behandelt, ist somit noch nicht beschlossen und bis nach der zweimonatigen „Sommerpause“ des Bundestages vertagt.
Damit hat die Simulation von „Opposition“ und „Untersuchungsausschuss“ in der seit Beginn der Snowden-Affäre außer Funktion gesetzten Republik ihren objektiven Zweck erfüllt.
Unter dem Netzpolitik.org zugesandten Geschwafel irgendwelcher Simulanten ist lediglich das Statement vom Beirat der DE-CIX Management GmbH relevant. Klaus Landefeld gegenüber Netzpolitik.org:
„Alles, was NSA und GCHQ vorgeworfen wurde, soll dem BND jetzt auch erlaubt sein – die Bundesregierung legalisiert die Praxis sozusagen im Nachhinein.“
Das ist falsch.
Erlaubt war dem B.N.D. das vollständige Kopieren an den Netzknoten, auch am Frankfurter DE-CIX, spätetens durch die im November 2005 erneut verschärfte Regierungsverordnung „Telekommunikations-Überwachungsverordnung“ (TKÜV). Darunter fielen auch „inländische Fernmeldenetzknoten, die jeweils mit einem ausländischen Netzknoten zusammengeschaltet sind“ und „vom und in das Ausland“ geführter Telekommunikationsverkehr (Zitat Bundesverfassungsgericht, Beschluss 1 BvL 7/08, 13.05.2009).
Der Bundestag, natürlich auch „Linke“ und „Grüne“, wusste davon spätestens seit 2012.
Welche Luftnummer auch die DE-CIX Management GmbH und ihr Beirat Klaus Landefeld repräsentieren, mag man der Tatsache entnehmen, dass Landefeld nun hinsichtlich des Raubkopierens des deutschen Staates am größten Telekommunikations-Knoten auf dem Planeten von einer „Legalisierung im Nachhinein“ redet, aber im April 2015 genau gegen diese bislang angeblich illegale Praxis des B.N.D. vor dem Bundesverwaltungsgericht klagen wollte. Bereits damals hieß es unter der Presseerklärung:
„Eine Klage wurde aber noch nicht beim Bundesverwaltungsgericht eingereicht. „
Sie wurde auch nie eingereicht.
Der Beirat der DE-CIX Management GmbH Klaus Landefeld nun am Donnerstag weiter gegenüber Netzpolitik.org zum aktuellen B.N.D.-Gesetz:
„Wenn der Gesetzentwurf so verabschiedet wird, wird erstmalig in voller Absicht eine anlasslose Massenüberwachung im Inland gezielt erlaubt.
Auch die Kommunikation deutscher Staatbürger wird dem Dienst dabei zugeleitet, der einzige Schutz unserer Grundrechte besteht in einem obskuren, geheimen Filter welcher – wie bereits in der Gesetzesbegründung ausgeführt – schlicht nicht in einem ausreichenden Masse funktional ist.“
Wie bereits hinreichend dargelegt, verbirgt sich hinter der Formulierung „gezielt erlaubt“ die Legasthenie einer weiteren Generation von Deutschen in ihrer Gesamtheit.
Mit dem „obskuren, geheimen Filter“ meint Klaus Landefeld offensichtlich die in der TKÜV durch den Staat offen und für jeden einsehbar verfügte
„Aufstellung und..Betrieb von Geräten des Bundesnachrichtendienstes.. die nur von hierzu besonders ermächtigten Bediensteten des Bundesnachrichtendienstes eingestellt und gewartet werden dürfen“.

Die Kontinentaleuropäer sollten sehr genau in die USA und nach Großbritannien schauen, wenn nicht gleich nach China, um zu sehen, wohin dieser Weg unweigerlich führt: In ein System, in dem der gesamte öffentliche Raum und alles was wir darin tun, fast ebenso umfassend digital überwacht und kontrolliert wird wie der digitale. Das macht die Regierungen und Konzerne übermäßig mächtig und ermöglicht totalitäres Regieren. Es macht uns noch abhängiger und erpressbarer von den USA, bei deren Geheimdiensten und IT-Konzernen die Daten aus aller Welt zusammenlaufen. Wenn wir das nicht wollen, müssen wir uns gegen jeden der – für sich genommen einigermaßen harmlos erscheinenden – Trippelschritte auf diesem Weg wehren.

This struggle is not solely for the sake of Gaza; it is for the very soul of humanity. Should Netanyahu’s actions succeed in normalizing genocide in the 21st century, this horrific crime could become a sanctioned political strategy for tyrants and regimes worldwide. Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud has urged the global community to act decisively to stop “Israeli aggression”, which could have “grave consequences”.
“The failure of international community to take firm actions to end the Israeli aggression and violation will only cause further instability and insecurity regionally and globally,” he told the UN General Assembly.
“Such an action will have grave consequences and will escalate war crimes and acts of genocide.”

What Israel is doing in Gaza City is not the tragic byproduct of chaotic events on the ground, but a well-calculated act of annihilation, executed in cold blood by “the people’s army” — that is, the fathers, sons, brothers, and neighbors of us Israelis.
How is it that, despite the mounting testimonies from Gaza’s concentration and extermination camps, no mass refusal movement has taken root in Israel? That after two years of this carnage barely a handful of conscientious objectors sit in prison is truly inconceivable. Even the so-called “gray refusers” — reserve soldiers who do not oppose the war on ideological grounds but are simply exhausted and questioning its purpose — remain far too few to slow the killing machine, let alone bring it to a halt.
Who are these obedient souls who keep this system running? How can a society so deeply fractured — between the religious and the secular, settlers and liberals, kibbutzniks and urbanites, veteran immigrants and new arrivals — unite only in its willingness to slaughter Palestinians without a moment’s hesitation?
Legal analysis of the conduct of Israel in Gaza pursuant to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide
246. The duty to prevent and punish genocide applies not only to the responsible State but to all States Parties to the Genocide Convention and indeed to all States under customary international law. In the Barcelona Traction case, the International Court of Justice recognised the erga omnes obligation in preventing and punishing genocide487 and held that the Genocide Convention obligates all States Parties to prevent and punish the crime of genocide.488 Even in the absence of an express order by the International Court of Justice, all States have a duty to assess whether a violation of the Genocide Convention has occurred or may occur and take steps to determine their own obligations in preventing and punishing such acts.
247. On 26 January 2024, in its first of three provisional measures orders in the South Africa v. Israel case, the International Court of Justice put all States on notice of the plausibility of the State of Israel committing genocide in its military operations in Gaza since 7 October 2023. The Court said, “at least some of the rights claimed by South Africa and for which it is seeking protection are plausible. This is the case with respect to the right of the Palestinians in Gaza to be protected from acts of genocide and related prohibited acts identified in Article III [of the Genocide Convention].” It found “a real and imminent risk that irreparable prejudice will be caused to the rights found by the Court to be plausible”.
248. It noted, inter alia, the catastrophic living conditions in Gaza. On 24 May 2024, the Court reinforced its earlier order, saying that “the current situation arising from Israel’s military offensive in Rafah entails a further risk of irreparable prejudice to the plausible rights claimed by South Africa and that there is urgency, in the sense that there exists a real and imminent risk that such prejudice will be caused before the Court gives its final decision.“ It ordered Israel to “immediately halt its military offensive, and any other action in the Rafah Governorate, which may inflict on the Palestinian group in Gaza conditions of life that could bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part”.492 The Commission emphasises the importance of these provisional measures orders in providing a strong statement to other States of their obligations to prevent and punish genocide.
249. Therefore, the Commission finds that, since at least 26 January 2024, when the International Court of Justice ordered its first provisional measures, all States Parties to the Genocide Convention, and all other States too, have been on notice of a serious risk that genocide was being or would be committed. As such, the duty to prevent genocide was triggered due to the actual or constructive knowledge of the immediate plausibility that genocide was being or was about to be committed. According to the International Court of Justice, where States Parties are able to contribute to the prevention of genocide, they are obligated to “employ all means reasonably available to them, so as to prevent genocide so far as possible.” Responsibility may be incurred if a State Party “manifestly failed to take all measures to prevent genocide which were within its power, and which might have contributed to preventing the genocide.”
250. Consistent with the obligations promulgated under the Genocide Convention, the Commission therefore notes that States are obliged to (i) ensure that Israel implements all orders for provisional measures issued by the International Court of Justice; (ii) cooperate to bring to an end all Israeli actions in Gaza that amount to a violation of the Genocide Convention; (iii) take steps to ensure the prevention of conduct that may amount to an act of genocide under the Genocide Convention, including the transfer of weapons that are used or likely to be used by Israel to commit genocidal acts; (iv) not recognise as lawful the military operations in Gaza that led to the violations of peremptory norms (jus cogens), including genocide; and (v) conduct investigations and take steps to ensure the punishment of violations of peremptory norms. The Commission recommends that, in fulfilment of these obligations, States (i) intervene in the International Court of Justice proceedings of South Africa v. Israel; and (ii) support and cooperate fully with the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in its investigation into the situation in the State of Palestine, with the aim of advancing international accountability.
Gaza: Top independent rights probe alleges Israel committed genocide
In a new report published against the backdrop of intensifying Israeli military operations in Gaza City, the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel, urged Israel and all countries to fulfil their obligations under international law “to end the genocide” and punish those responsible.
“The Commission finds that Israel is responsible for the commission of genocide in Gaza,” insisted Navi Pillay, Chair of the Commission. “It is clear that there is an intent to destroy the Palestinians in Gaza through acts that meet the criteria set forth in the Genocide Convention.”
At a press conference in Geneva, the panel’s members – who are not UN staff but instead appointed by the Human Rights Council’s 47 Member States – explained that their investigations into the war in Gaza beginning with Hamas-led terror attacks in Israel on 7 October 2023 had led to the conclusion that Israeli authorities and security forces “committed four of the five genocidal acts defined by the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide”.

Despite this recognition by the UN of the devastating effect that imported weapons was having, absolutely nothing was done to prevent or stop the slaughter of one million Tutsis and those who protected them.
Twenty years ago in Rwanda, the government got the message from the international community, again and again, that it could get away with genocide facilitated by foreign arms. It was not until May 17, 1994, more than five weeks into the genocide, that the United Nations Security Council imposed an arms embargo on the genocidal regime.
With the global Arms Trade Treaty still not ratified, I cannot help but wonder how many other governments are getting that very same message from the international community today.
How Israelis turned atrocity denial into an art

Meanwhile, the reprehensible refusal by the vast majority of the Israeli media to show what is actually happening in Gaza means that when images do manage to slip through, the public response is often little more than a collective shrug of dismissal. Yet almost every time, that shrug is accompanied by “they deserved it,” as denial and justification intertwine in what may seem like a paradox but actually reflects two sides of the same coin.

Manchmal sind es Alltagsdetails, die mehr über den Zustand des Landes verraten als jede Statistik. Die Postfiliale, die plötzlich nur noch halbtags geöffnet hat, und in deren langer Warteschlange man kurz vor Schließung um 12 Uhr Mittags mit anhört, wie eine Mitarbeiterin einem IT-Fachmann, der gerade im laufenden Kundenbetrieb eine Panne am Computersystem der Filiale zu beheben versucht, zur Erklärung für Schließung und Warteschlange zutuschelt: „Wir haben drei Dauerkranke“, worauf der IT-Mann mit abgeklärter Miene und leiser Stimme antwortet: „Die haben wir auch.“ Die Gesichter der Wartenden spiegeln eine Mischung aus Frustration und Ergebenheit. Niemand spricht miteinander.
Schon gehört? Deutschland hilft Gaza …
Seit Kurzem demonstriert die Bundesregierung eine veränderte Haltung in der Nahostpolitik. Der deutsche Außenminister Wadephul soll die israelische Regierung bei einem Besuch in Tel Aviv „ernsthaft ermahnt“ haben, sie müsse in ihrem eigenen Interesse angesichts weltweiter Isolation ihre Politik „fundamental“ ändern, und verurteilt „Pläne von Annexionen“. Die Bundeswehr hat parallel dazu eine „Luftbrücke“ aufgemacht und wirft symbolträchtig Lebensmittel über Gaza ab. Kanzler Merz „ringe“ derweil noch um seine Aussage zu Israel. So die Nachrichtenlage der letzten Tage in Kurzform.

UNRWA frontline health workers, are surviving on one small meal a day, often just lentils, if at all. They are increasingly fainting from hunger while at work.
When caretakers cannot find enough to eat, the entire humanitarian system is collapsing.
Parents are too hungry to care for their children.
Those who reach UNRWA clinics don’t have the energy, food, or means to follow medical advice.
Families are no longer coping, they are breaking down, unable to survive.
Their existence is threatened.
Allow humanitarian partners to bring unrestricted and uninterrupted humanitarian assistance to Gaza.
We, at UNRWA, have the equivalent of 6,000 loaded trucks of food & medical supplies in Jordan and Egypt.“
