Netanyahu to run for re-election, his party says, after Trump raises doubts
Netanyahu has faced a tumultuous term since returning to power in December 2022 at the helm of âthe most right-wing coalition in Israeli history. He faced mass anti-government protests before âthe wars in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran.
Polls have repeatedly indicated that his coalition would fail to âwin â a majority at the next election. A poll published by the Jerusalem-based Israel Democracy Institute think tank on June 9 said that 61% of the Israeli public believe he should not run.

News 13 Poll: The Joint List Will Become the Third-Largest Faction with 16 MKs
The Joint List would become the third largest faction in the Knesset if elections were held today, according to the results of a poll broadcast last night (Monday, May 25) on Channel 13 News. According to the poll, the Joint List would win 16 seats, while Likud drops to 23 seats and âBeyachadâ falls to 21 seats. In this scenario, Netanyahuâs extremist right-wing bloc drops to 53 seats, while the Zionist opposition bloc falls to 51 seats. To form an alternative government, the opposition parties would need the Joint List to secure a majority of 67 Knesset members.

âTheyâre just not fighting back hard enough in my eyes,â said Matthew Berryhill, 35, a recruiter from Marietta, Ga., a pivotal battleground area in the stateâs key Senate race this year, who described himself as a progressive Democrat. âThey come out with strong statements and strong words, and no action to back it up.â

The Race for Congress: Latest 2026 Polls
Recent polling on the congressional generic ballot shows Democrats with a modest advantage. The party out of power typically gains ground in midterm elections, and these early surveys suggest this may be taking shape ahead of 2026. Democrats lead in the vast majority of recent polls, though by single-digit margins. However, with redistricting efforts underway in several states, the national vote share that Democrats need to retake the House will depend on the extent of these changes.
New Poll: The Joint List Becomes the Third-largest Faction in the Knesset
Channel 13 also asked respondents how they would vote if Hadash and three Arab parties, Raâam, Taâal and Balad, ran together as the Joint List, as they have done in the past. In such a scenario, the Joint List would become the third largest parliamentary faction, with sixteen seats. Likud would shrink to 20 and Religious Zionism would rise to six, giving Netanyahuâs coalition a total of 53 seats, and Bennettâs party would shrink to 20 while Yashar Eisenkotâs and Democrats Golanâs parties would drop to eleven and seven, respectively, giving the Zionist opposition bloc a total of 51 seats. Hadash and the Arab parties pledged earlier this year to work to reestablish the Joint List, with little signs of progress.

The findings point to a sharp collapse in support, not only among the wider electorate but within Labourâs own ranks. A significant share of those who backed the party in the 2024 general election now say the Prime Minister should resign.
British Voters‘ Trust In America Plummets Amid Trump‘s Iran War
The Public First research for Politico found that more than half (53%) of the UK public now view America as a negative force globally, up from 35% in December.

Trumpâs War Address Proves He Hasnât Got a Clue What Heâs Doing
Trump is so desperate for the publicâs approval that he sincerely believed that by going on television to make his claim for war 32 days too late, he would turn his plummeting poll ratings around.
By making his case for war, he would help people understand why he was right.
Instead, he revealed how wrong he was to put the United States into a war it couldnât really win.

NEW POLL: Majority of Americans Believe Trump Launched Iran War to Cover Up Epstein Scandal
Doing sophisticated polling that follows best practices is an expensive endeavor, which is why itâs usually left to major media with major budgets. But thanks to the generous support of our readers, we decided itâs something we can afford, too, and we teamed up with our friends at Zeteo to split the costs of a national survey of likely American voters, one that allowed us to ask the kinds of questions weâre interested in, and that we believe youâll be interested in too.
We hope to do more of these in the future, particularly if thereâs reader interest. In fact, one way we gauge that is by looking at how many readers decide to become donors or paying subscribers after reading a particular article.
