What Did Palestine Action Do to be Named Terrorists?
Shortly after midnight on June 20, activists from Palestine Action cut through the outer fence of Brize Norton and sped across the tarmac on electric scooters.
Undetected by guards, they proceeded to spray red paint into the turbines of two Voyager aircraft, used by the Royal Air Force (RAF) for air-to-air refueling and strategic air transport missions. Crowbars were also reportedly used.
Three days later, Britain’s home secretary Yvette Cooper told parliament that she had decided to proscribe Palestine Action under Section 3 of the Terrorism Act.

Local activist Raull Santiago said he was part of a team that found about 15 bodies before dawn.
“We saw executed people: shot in the back, shots to the head, stab wounds, people tied up. This level of brutality, the hatred spread – there’s no other way to describe it except as a massacre,” Santiago said.
Castro said on Tuesday that Rio was at war against “narco-terrorism,” a term that echoed the Trump administration in its campaign against drug smuggling in Latin America. Rio’s state government said that those who had been killed had resisted police action.

Exclusive: Met Police appoint prosecutor to ‚urgently review‘ application for Israeli president‘s arrest
On Tuesday morning pro-Palestine campaign group Friends of Al-Aqsa (FOA) instructed a legal team to apply for an arrest warrant to be issued for Herzog on „charges of aiding, abetting or procuring direct and indiscriminate attacks on civilians and civilian objects“.
The Met responded to FOA that afternoon in an email seen by MEE.
In the email, officers confirmed that „the Counter Terrorism Division received the papers relating to your request in respect of Mr Herzog.
Over 800 Arrested at Protest After Pro-Palestinian Group Banned as Terrorist
The Defend Our Juries group, which organized the demonstration, advised protesters to passively resist arrest and refuse to give police their names and addresses, to force officers to take them into custody.
Six people accused of organizing Defend Our Juries meetings were arrested hours before a scheduled news conference on Tuesday and charged with encouraging support for Palestine Action, an offense for which those found guilty can be sentenced to up to 14 years in prison.
When the rescheduled news conference took place without them on Wednesday, Defend Our Juries supporters accused the British government and the police of attacking free speech and the right to protest.

Adalah: Police’s Failure to Investigate Attempted Lynch of MK Odeh
Upon MK Odeh’s arrival, dozens of rioters attacked his car and shouted racist slogans such as “Death to Arabs.” When MK Odeh spoke at the protest, he was attacked again, together with the other demonstrators, as various objects were thrown at them. Following his speech, MK Odeh managed to reach his car, while rioters armed with stones and sticks tried to attack him. At one point, the rioters hurled a large stone that shattered the vehicle’s rear windshield. After these events, the police arrested only three people: one of whom was a demonstrator who had been attacked by the rioters; he was released shortly thereafter at the police station. The court later released the two other individuals who were arrested and detained.
Following these events, right-wing activists uploaded dozens of posts and videos on social media platforms praising, sympathizing and encouraging these assaults; some even explicitly called for repeating such acts in the future.
D.C. attorney general sues Trump administration over ‘hostile takeover’ of police
The lawsuit came hours after U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi ordered sweeping changes to law enforcement policies in the city and said a Trump administration official should assume all duties and responsibilities of the police chief, drawing immediate legal pushback from Schwalb and Mayor Muriel E. Bowser (D).
Schwalb called it the “gravest threat to Home Rule that the District has ever faced.”

Hundreds Arrested In London for Opposing Ban on Nonviolent Group Palestine Action
British campaigners reported Saturday that the sheer volume of people who showed up in London‘s Parliament Square to support the nonviolent advocacy group Palestine Action presented a major challenge for the Metropolitan Police, who had threatened to arrest anyone supporting the organization.
The campaign group Defend Our Juries reported that as of 4:00 pm local time, at least 200 people had been arrested for joining the protest, where more than 1,000 sat silently in the square with many displaying signs that read: „I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action.“
Others held signs reading, „Is this why you joined the police?“ as officers arrested demonstrators including National Health Service workers; a blind man using a wheelchair; author Jonathon Porritt; and former Guantánamo Bay detainee Moazzam Begg, who now advocates for wrongly-imprisoned people swept up in the War on Terror.
Woman wearing Palestine Action T-shirt arrested
The woman was wearing a T-shirt with the slogan „We are all Palestine Action“.
Palestine Action became a proscribed organisation in July under the Terrorism Act, making membership of or support for the group a criminal offence. Two men were also cautioned for the same offence.
Police say they arrested a 43-year-old man for disorderly behaviour.
British Police Arrest Hundreds of Pro-Palestinian Protesters Who Defied Anti-Terror Law
Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside the British Parliament to hold signs reading „I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action,“ in what they said was a protest for freedom of expression.
By doing so, the protesters violated a law passed by the British Parliament in early July that classified Palestine Action as a terror organization and made it illegal for anyone to publicly show support for it.

Hundreds had descended on the square for the demonstration as part of a busy weekend of protests in the capital. The Met said it had drafted in officers from other forces to form a “significant policing presence” and warned it would arrest anyone expressing support for the proscribed group.
Clusters of officers were seen escorting protesters carrying placards backing Palestine Action through swelling crowds to waiting police vans on the edge of the square.
*Nearly 100 more arrested today, ahead of major escalation of protests on 9 August* 55 arrests in Parliament Square, 19 in Bristol, 16 in Manchester, 8 in Truro. No arrests in Derry, Edinburgh, Chichester, Buddafield or the Hague
Defend Our Juries said:
“Just a few weeks ago, being arrested under the Terrorism Act was the stuff of nightmares. Now it’s a badge of honour that people are wearing with pride – the mark of resistance to genocide and standing firm for our democratic freedoms. This is a major cultural shift. For years, the Terrorism laws and the Prevent programme have been used to divide and rule communities, and to marginalise Muslim communities in particular. Thanks to Yvette Cooper’s hubris, they are now helping to bring us together.”

55 arrested in London for protesting Gaza genocide and Palestine Action ban
Fifty-five people were arrested in London during a protest against the UK government’s ban on the activist group Palestine Action. The protest was organised by Defend Our Juries, a civil liberties group that has coordinated three consecutive weekend demonstrations since the ban.

London police arrest 55 for supporting banned Palestine Action group
London’s Metropolitan Police say they have arrested 55 people under anti-terrorism laws at a demonstration in support of the banned group Palestine Action in the British capital. Protesters had gathered in central London for a third Saturday in a row to protest the pro-Palestinian group’s proscription under “anti-terrorism” laws, making it a crime to support the organisation punishable by up to 14 years in prison.
Palestine Action isn’t a danger to British democracy – but Yvette Cooper is
(July 4, 2025)
No one can be trusted with power. Any government will oppress its people if not constantly and inventively challenged. And the task becomes ever-more urgent as new technologies of surveillance and control are developed.
The UK government is run by a former human rights lawyer. Its home secretary, Yvette Cooper, has expressed her admiration for the Suffragettes in parliament. Yet such credentials do nothing to defend us from attacks on our fundamental rights. With a huge majority, no formal constitutional checks and a ruthless, scarcely accountable governing machine, this administration is abusing its power to an even greater extent than its Conservative predecessors.
Armed police threatened to arrest Kent protester for holding Palestinian flag
Speaking to the Guardian, Murton said: “I don’t see how anything I was wearing, how anything I was displaying, anything I was saying, could be deemed as supportive of the proscribed group.
“It’s terrifying, I was standing there thinking, this is the most authority, authoritarian, dystopian experience I’ve had in this country, being told that I’m committing terrorist offences by two guys with firearms.
“I ended up giving my details, and I really resent the fact I had to do that because I don’t think that was lawful at all.”
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA COMMITTEE ON HOMELAND SECURITY AND GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS AND THE PERMANENT SUBCOMMITTEE ON INVESTIGATIONS – INTERVIEW OF SPECIAL AGENT IN CHARGE, U.S. SECRET SERVICE
(page 10)
HSGAC Majority: I also work for Chairman Peters. And just as starting point if you could maybe give us a really brief high-level overview of your role and responsibilities with respect to the July 13th rally at Butler.
Witness: Sure. I was assigned as the command post/slash security room agent.
(…)
(page 16)
And then talking about July 13th specifically, could you give us a sense of the chain of command on that day from your point of view, who, if anyone, you reported to on that day?
Witness: Sure. I reported to the site agent.
HSGAC Majority: To the site agent?
Witness: Yes.
(…)
(page 25)
HSGAC Majority: And who do you know who was responsible for making the decisions about the location of the event and what equipment would be there?
Witness: Typically, that would be the site agent.
HSGAC Majority: And did you have any conversations with the site agent prior to the 13th about the setup in the room?
Witness: About the setup in the room? No.
(…)
(page 30)
Witness: So, it was a very, very busy site. I think in earlier testimony, I‘ve said it was one of the busier sites I‘ve ever worked from a command post perspective, the amount of traffic that was coming through it.
(…)
And there was a constant flow of dispatch of medical personnel to people who were, you know, having issues in the crowd. Throughout the day, we had two or three lost children, one of whom actually spent some time in the command post and security room until they were reunited with their family. We had lost property coming into the command post and security room. We had a call about a media truck that was going to set the ground on fire. So, we had to figure out how to get fire trucks to that. (…)
HSGAC Majority: Got it. Can you talk a little bit about just the physical setup of the room, how big it was?
Witness: Sure. It was a relatively large room, kind of in a standalone building. And there were essentially card tables or tables of about this size. You know, the six-foot, eight-foot tables set up in a big ring configuration. That was pretty much it. There was one door out the front, and then there were two small windows to my right. And there was a little kitchen in the back and a restroom.
(…)
(page 33)
I had to enlist the help of the Butler Farm Show personnel there to find me an extension cord and a power strip. So, I set up my radio so I could at least look out the door of the command post.
(…)
The security room also functioned as the — what we would call the down room. when the agents were getting relief from their post, it‘s where they would come. The site agents were in and out of the room throughout the day. The PI response and the counter sniper, CS Response Teams, were in and out of the room all day.
Other Pennsylvania State Troopers who were doing the same thing, who were being pushed, were in and out of the room all day. Our Uniformed Division personnel who were working the magnetometers who were on break, in and out of the room all day. And then at one point the agent assigned to work the UAS detection system, ended up taking up residence and setting up his station in the security room
(…)
(page 55)
HSGAC Majority: But the first person on the chain would‘ve been the site agent?
Witness: Correct.
HSGAC Majority: You mentioned in preparation the written materials were the only mention you saw of the setup that day. And correct me if I‘m wrong, but I believe you said it, reference commmand post or security room, but in this case, both?
Witness: Correct. So for this particular visit, the command post and the site security room for the Butler Farm Show were one and the same.
(…)
HSGAC Minority: I guess, let‘s start first with the man on the roof. Well, I mean at that time you didn’t know about it, so.
Witness: So the Man on the roof thing, again, I never heard the man on the roof thing because I believe if the claim is that that was said out loud into the room, that that was probably occurring as I‘m getting the same traffic of the local police are working a problem at 3 o‘clock, which I‘m listening to my Secret Service radio intently at that point.
HSGAC Minority: And are you only listening to your Secret?
Witness: Well, I‘m trying to listen to as much as I can, but I typically can only listen to one thing at a time.
HSGAC Minority: Do you recall, I guess, the level of activity that was going on around that time, around 6:09
Witness: Precisely at 6:09, no. But I will say that at the time that the call came across that the local police were working a problem at the 3 o‘clock, that the entire — everybody who was in the security room definitely peaked up and was very much turned on.
HSGAC Minority: So, is it that the locals were working something at the 3 o‘clock that raised it to enough of a threat level that you felt like you needed to communicate that out on the radio?
Witness: Yeah. I reported back what I heard on the radio that came across on the Secret Service radio from another Secret Service personnel. And to this day, I‘m still not sure exactly who that was, who called that into the security room. But I‘m listening for traffic on my Secret Service radio.
Witness Counsel: Can I just say that when you used the phrase „enough of a threat,“ there were between a suspicion and a threat, those are mutually exclusive categories and they have completely different meanings. If you wanted to expound on your understanding of the difference between a suspicion and a threat?
Witness: Sure. A threat is somebody who has the capability to do immediate harm to somebody. So even in this instance, even if I had heard that there was a man on a roof, a man on a roof solely that is not necessarily a threat.

Inputs travelled back and forth between the Intelligence Bureau, the R&AW, Military Intelligence, Signals Intelligence, the Coast Guard, the Maharashtra State Police and other agencies. As and when found necessary, civilian units like private firms, or hotels were given information.
For example, some time in August, the IB told the Taj Group to be careful about an attack on the hotel. It did not specify that it may come from the sea, but said it could be around September 11, and foreigners could be prime targets, sources said.

Pahalgam Attack a ‘Lapse’, Says Govt in All-Party Meet as Oppn Questions PM’s Absence, Hate Campaign
(April 24, 2025)
Sources said that during the meeting, party leaders were informed that the area where the incident took place – in Pahalgam’s Baisaran valley – is usually opened to tourists around June and local authorities are required to be informed when tourists are taken there – which was not done, and small batches of tourists were sent to the area from April 20 without informing local authorities.
“You are saying that it is a sensitive place and only opens during the Amarnath Yatra when there is a lot of security,” said Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh after the meeting to The Wire.
“So how was it opened on April 20 without anyone knowing? Is this a joke? How did 500-1,000 people reach there without anyone’s knowledge? If terrorists knew that it had opened on the 20th, how did our government not know?
