Denn am gestrigen Abend ist in der Innenausschuss-Sitzung im hessischen Landtag nicht nur bekannt geworden, dass insgesamt sogar 49 Polizisten aus verschiedenen Bereichen in rechten Chats beteiligt waren. Innenminister Beuth bestätigte zudem, dass 13 der 19 rechtsextremen Polizeibeamten aus der aufgelöstem SEK-Einheit in der Tatnacht am 19. Februar 2020 in Hanau im Einsatz waren.

Besonderer Schutz von Abgeordneten
Seit mehr als 40 Jahren sind in Deutschland Mandatsträger auch immer wieder als parlamentarische Beobachter bei Demonstrationen und Versammlungen anwesend. Diese Praxis gilt als gelebter Schutz des Grundgesetzes und erfuhr bisher viel Respekt und Anerkennung sowohl durch Demonstranten als auch Polizisten. Gerade die Vermittlerrolle, die parlamentarische Beobachter oft zwischen Versammlungsteilnehmern und Polizei eingenommen haben, trugen oft zur Beruhigung angespannter Situationen bei. Eine große rechtliche Besonderheit für parlamentarische Beobachter ist, dass diese weder in Polizeikesseln festgehalten noch präventiv in Haft genommen werden dürfen.
Das Sonderermittlungsteam der Staatsanwaltschaft hatte am Montag einen Haftantrag gegen Kim gestellt. Ihm wird vorgeworfen, in Absprache mit Präsident Yoon einen Aufstand initiiert zu haben, um die verfassungsmäßige Ordnung des Landes zu stören.
Wie verlautete, habe Kim am Dienstagabend noch vor dem Erlass des Haftbefehls in einer Untersuchungshaftanstalt versucht, sich das Leben zu nehmen. Sein Zustand sei zurzeit stabil.
Das Sonderermittlungsteam des Nationalen Ermittlungsbüros teilte mit, dass es Cho Ji-ho, Generalkommissar der Nationalen Polizeibehörde, und Kim Bong-sik, Leiter der Seouler Polizeibehörde, gegen 3.50 Uhr am Mittwoch ohne Haftbefehl wegen Rebellionsvorwurf festgenommen habe.
Cho und Kim wird vorgeworfen, nach der Verhängung des Kriegsrechts durch Präsident Yoon Suk Yeol Polizeibeamte angewiesen zu haben, das Gelände der Nationalversammlung abzusperren, um Abgeordnete am Betreten des Parlaments zu hindern.

Police in Amsterdam began breaking up the occupation of University of Amsterdam buildings in the city center on Wednesday. The Binnengasthuis and other university buildings were squatted a day earlier by hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators who had marched there from the university’s Roeterseiland campus on Tuesday afternoon.

Some 125 activists were arrested as police broke up a pro-Palestinian demonstration camp at the University of Amsterdam in the early hours of Tuesday, as protests that have roiled campuses in the United States spread into Europe.
According to a statement from University Spokesperson Edward Blaguszewski, 109 people have been booked as a result of the encampment, and around 25 people are waiting to be processed.
Blaguszewski’s statement read: “As chairman of the UMass Board of Trustees, I want to offer the Board’s full and unwavering support for Chancellor Javier Reyes,” said Chairman Stephen Karam. “We have absolute confidence in his leadership, his integrity, and his commitment to our students.”
Police arrested about 130 people at the University of Massachusetts Amherst Tuesday night after the college says pro-Palestinian protesters refused to take down an encampment on campus and leave the area.
UMass has not said what the protesters are charged with, but 109 have been booked by campus police as of Wednesday morning and there are charges pending for about 25 more.

Video posted to X by GBH News reporter Tori Bedford clearly shows the incident in question, in which a pro-Israel counter-protester, holding an Israeli flag, attempts to be disruptive by yelling “kill the Jews.” He goes on to accuse student protesters of being funded by the Qatari government and imply that they are not US citizens. By using this event to slander their own students, the Northeastern University administration is acting in incredible bad faith. They owe pro-Palestine student organizers an apology.
Mass State Police said 102 people were arrested and face trespassing and disorderly conduct charges and are being transported to the Suffolk County House of Correction to be booked and processed.
Northeastern University released a statement on Saturday morning through social media saying approximately 100 people had been detained and the ones without a university ID were arrested.
Noelle McAfee (age 63, born November 25, 1960) is a prominent political theorist and feminist. Currently, she holds the position of chair in the philosophy department at Emory University, a role she’s held since 2010.
Alongside being a Professor of Philosophy, she’s also a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory.

A CNN crew witnessed at least two professors detained by Atlanta police, including Emory University economics professor Caroline Fohlin and Noëlle McAfee, chair of the philosophy department.
After all, the division over the war in Gaza is by no means confined to students. As has happened with so many rifts in our country’s history, students have simply used their activism to become a prism reflecting the wider world. Which is why they need to be taken seriously, for all of our sakes.
If they do nothing else, the growing demonstrations are forcing us to confront who we are, what we believe and why.
What is happening in Gaza is not a war “over there.” It’s right here, right now, among our own children. And we all need to figure out where we stand.
Going over some of the news, good and bad, coming out of the campus protests. Including what happened to Emory University‘s professor of economics Caroline Fohlin, but also a beautiful speech given by an 88-year-old activist.
University administrators from Texas to California moved to clear protesters and prevent encampments from taking hold on their own campuses as they have at Columbia University, deploying police in tense new confrontations that already have led to dozens of arrests.
At the same time, new protests continued erupting in places like Pittsburgh and San Antonio. Students expressed solidarity with their fellow students at Columbia, and with a pro-Palestinian movement that appeared to be galvanized by the pushback on other campuses and the looming end of the academic year.

A judge in Haiti responsible for investigating the July 2021 assassination of President Jovenel Moïse has indicted his widow, Martine Moïse, ex-prime minister Claude Joseph and the former chief of Haiti’s National Police, Léon Charles, among others, according to a report obtained Monday.
Others who face charges including murder are Christian Emmanuel Sanon, a Haitian-American pastor who visualized himself as Haiti’s next president and said he thought Moïse was only going to be arrested; Joseph Vincent, a Haitian-American and former informant for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration; Dimitri Hérard, presidential security chief; John Joël Joseph, a former Haitian senator; and Windelle Coq, a Haitian judge whom authorities say is a fugitive.

Despite an obvious failure in police operations, the masthead of the police force has not changed, with Charles remaining the Chief of Police, despite claims from Haitian journalists that he gave the order to allow the caravan of assassins into the President’s neighborhood. In February, the Haitian National Police began a partnership with Colombian police forces, but it is unknown if any of the mercenaries arrested participated in this arrangement.
In the two days since the attack, former Prime Minister turned interim President Joseph has consolidated power. In 2004, Joseph was a member of the group Grenn Nan Bouda (GNB) which means “balls up your ass” in Haitian Creole. GNB participated in the coup to oust President Jean-Bertrand Aristide that same year.
Joseph was not elected to his position, but was appointed in April by Moïse, and served only three months as Prime Minister. After declaring himself interim President, he has been breezily accepted by the international community, including the United States.

As Nova attendee Gilad Karplus, also a former Israeli soldier, told the BBC:
„We pretty much knew they would probably block the road. I‘m pretty sure a lot of people got killed on those roads…We drove into the field and tried to hide from them… afterwards we got a bit deeper into the fields and then they started firing sniper rifles on us from different places and also heavy artillery.“
Though Karplus and other partygoers were being fired on by the Border Police, they couldn’t make sense of this, and initially believed the shooting was from Hamas fighters disguised as police or soldiers. In other words, these witnesses actually saw Israeli forces firing on them.
For Hamas to have executed a plan involving elaborate disguises, the Nova operation would have had to be pre-planned, and the Israeli police investigation has already ruled that Hamas was unaware of the festival in advance. Moreover, no other site of clashes on 7 October reported sightings of Palestinian fighters donning Israeli uniforms – neither at the various breached settlements, nor at the Israeli military bases they entered.

“A single phone call by IDF officials to the commander responsible for the party to disperse it immediately in view of the expected danger would have saved lives and prevented the physical and mental injuries of hundreds of partygoers, including the plaintiffs,” the lawsuit said. “The negligence and the gross oversight is beyond belief.”

Schließlich habe zum Zeitpunkt der Flucht kein Haftbefehl gegen Marsalek vorgelegen. Ein Schelm, wer Böses dabei denkt.

According to police, at around 7:40 a.m. two Palestinian gunmen got out of a vehicle on Weizman Street at the main entrance to the capital and opened fire at people at a bus stop.
Police said two off-duty soldiers and an armed civilian in the area returned fire, killing the two terrorists.
The attackers were named as brothers Murad Namr, 38, and Ibrahim Namr, 30, from East Jerusalem.
According to the Shin Bet security agency, the pair were Hamas members and previously jailed for terror activity.
Protesters carried signs in Hebrew, Arabic and English calling for an end to the war, with slogans reading “In Gaza and in Sderot girls want to live,” “No to occupation and siege, yes to peace,” “Peace solution – not war,” “War has no winners,” “An eye for an eye and we are all blind.” The police forbade the waving of some anti-war signs among them: “Massacre does not justify massacre,” “Peace solution,” “Bibi [PM Benjamin Netanyahu] should be imprisoned,” “No to Apartheid,” “Food instead of bombs,” and “Return the captives, stop the revenge.” Cops also tried to prevent people with t-shirts with the phrase “Looking at the occupation in the eyes” from entering, claiming that even using the word “occupation” constituted incitement, but after a long argument, they let them in. The police censorship was not hermetic, and all the signs were later seen in the demonstration.

1. Anordnung
a) im Sinne der Teile 2 und 3 die Anordnung zur Überwachung der Telekommunikation nach § 100e der Strafprozessordnung, § 10 des Artikel 10-Gesetzes, § 74 des Zollfahndungsdienstgesetzes, § 51 des Bundeskriminalamtgesetzes, § 25 Absatz 1 Satz 1 des BND-Gesetzes oder nach Landesrecht und
b) im Sinne des Teils 4 die Anordnung zur Erteilung von Auskünften über Verkehrsdaten nach § 100g in Verbindung mit § 101a Absatz 1 der Strafprozessordnung, § 8a Absatz 1 Satz 1 Nummer 4 des Bundesverfassungsschutzgesetzes, auch in Verbindung mit § 4a des MAD-Gesetzes oder § 3 des BND-Gesetzes, § 52 des Bundeskriminalamtgesetzes, § 77 des Zollfahndungsdienstgesetzes oder nach Landesrecht;

§ 3 Kreis der Verpflichteten
(1) Die Vorschriften dieses Teils gelten für die Betreiber von Telekommunikationsanlagen, mit denen öffentlich zugängliche Telekommunikationsdienste erbracht werden. Werden mit einer Telekommunikationsanlage sowohl öffentlich zugängliche Telekommunikationsdienste als auch andere Telekommunikationsdienste erbracht, gelten die Vorschriften nur für den Teil der Telekommunikationsanlage, der der Erbringung von öffentlich zugänglichen Telekommunikationsdiensten dient.
(2) Für Telekommunikationsanlagen im Sinne von Absatz 1 müssen keine Vorkehrungen getroffen werden, soweit
1.
es sich um ein Telekommunikationsnetz handelt, das Telekommunikationsnetze miteinander verbindet und keine Telekommunikationsanschlüsse aufweist,
2.
sie Netzknoten sind, die der Zusammenschaltung mit dem Internet dienen,

Satz 1 Nummer 1 und 5 gilt nicht für Netzknoten, die der Vermittlung eines öffentlich zugänglichen Sprachkommunikationsdienstes ins Ausland dienen. Satz 1 Nummer 1 und 2 gilt nicht im Hinblick auf Vorkehrungen zur Erfüllung der Verpflichtung aus § 170 Absatz 1 Satz 1 Nummer 2 des Telekommunikationsgesetzes.
(3) § 100a Absatz 4 Satz 1 der Strafprozessordnung, § 2 Absatz 1a Satz 1 Nummer 1 bis 3 des Artikel 10-Gesetzes, § 72 Absatz 7 des Zollfahndungsdienstgesetzes, § 51 Absatz 6 Satz 1 des Bundeskriminalamtgesetzes sowie die Vorschriften des Landesrechts über Maßnahmen zur Überwachung der Telekommunikation bleiben von den Absätzen 1 und 2 unberührt.
§ 5 Grundsätze

(2) Zur technischen Umsetzung einer Anordnung hat der Verpflichtete der berechtigten Stelle am Übergabepunkt eine vollständige Kopie der durch die zu überwachende Kennung bezeichneten Telekommunikation bereitzustellen, die über seine Telekommunikationsanlage abgewickelt wird.

§ 8 Übergabepunkt#
(1) Der Verpflichtete hat seine Überwachungseinrichtungen so zu gestalten, dass die Überwachungskopie an einem Übergabepunkt bereitgestellt wird, der den Vorschriften dieser Verordnung und den Vorgaben der Technischen Richtlinie nach § 36 entspricht.

(3) Wenn der Verpflichtete die ihm zur Übermittlung anvertraute Telekommunikation netzseitig durch technische Maßnahmen gegen unbefugte Kenntnisnahme schützt oder er bei der Erzeugung oder dem Austausch von Schlüsseln mitwirkt und ihm dadurch die Entschlüsselung der Telekommunikation möglich ist, hat er die für diese Telekommunikation angewendeten Schutzvorkehrungen bei der an dem Übergabepunkt bereitzustellenden Überwachungskopie aufzuheben.
§ 27 Grundsätze, technische und organisatorische Umsetzung von Anordnungen, Verschwiegenheit
(1) Die zu überwachende Telekommunikation umfasst bei Überwachungsmaßnahmen nach § 5 oder § 8 des Artikel 10-Gesetzes die Telekommunikation, die auf dem in der Anordnung bezeichneten Übertragungsweg übertragen wird, einschließlich der auf diesem Übertragungsweg übermittelten, für den Auf- oder Abbau von Telekommunikationsverbindungen notwendigen vermittlungstechnischen Steuerzeichen und bei Überwachungsmaßnahmen nach den §§ 19, 24 oder 26 des BND-Gesetzes die Telekommunikation, die in der Anordnung nach § 25 Absatz 1 Satz 1 des BND-Gesetzes bezeichnet wird, einschließlich der in dieser Telekommunikation übermittelten, für den Auf- oder Abbau von Telekommunikationsverbindungen notwendigen vermittlungstechnischen Steuerzeichen. § 5 gilt mit Ausnahme von seinem Absatz 1, 2 Satz 3 und Absatz 4 Satz 2 entsprechend.

Balochistan’s Police Chief Abdul Khaliq Shaikh says the explosion near the procession of Eid Mawlid an-Nabi in Mastung was a suicide attack.

Tel Aviv municipal security officer Chen Amir, 42, was shot and killed by a member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group after the terrorist raised officers’ suspicion in the bustling Nachalat Binyamin neighborhood. The terrorist was shot dead by Amir’s colleague, and a senior police source was later quoted by the Ynet news site as saying the gunman had possibly planned to target the anti-overhaul protesters at Kaplan.
Abu Bakr did not have an entry permit to Israel due to his affiliation with Islamic Jihad and the previous shooting attack.
The agency was investigating how he entered Israel.
The police commissioner told media at the scene that the suspect had a “martyrdom” letter on him, adding that “he came to be a martyr.”
Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai, who arrived on the scene, said the terrorist was Kamel Abu Bakr, a 22-year-old Palestinian resident of Jenin affiliated with the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization.
„After chasing the terrorist the security guard neutralized him. In a letter he wrote, the terrorist said he was willing to ‚sacrifice himself‘. We‘re currently looking into the possibility of the assailant having accomplices.“
Israel Police Chief Kobi Shabtai arrived at the scene and said the terrorist left a note saying he would be a martyr.

Das FBI hat begonnen, ihre 2007 geplante neue Datenbank für biometrische Merkmale in Betrieb zu nehmen. Das „Next Generation Identification“-System habe die erste Phase der „operationalen Einsatzfähigkeit“ erreicht, heißt es in US-Medienberichten. Die Datenbank soll das Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS) der US-Polizeibehörde ersetzen und wird daher zunächst mit Fingerabdrücken gefüttert. Später sollen auch Iris-Scans, Stimmproben, Abbildungen von Handabdrücken, Tätowierungen, Narben und Gesichtsformen erfasst werden.
Insgesamt 40 Länder nehmen derzeit am „Visa Waiver Program“ (VWP) der US-Regierung teil. Washington garantiert damit, dass die Bürger:innen der betreffenden Staaten zu geschäftlichen oder touristischen Zwecken für maximal drei Monate ohne Visum einreisen dürfen. Die Regelung gilt gegenseitig, auch US-Staatsangehörige können die 40 Länder visafrei besuchen. Unter den Teilnehmenden des VWP befinden sich fast alle Schengen-Staaten.
Nun verlangt die US-Regierung, dass die am VWP teilnehmenden Staaten im Rahmen einer „Enhanced Border Security Partnership“ (EBSP) Zugang zu ihren polizeilichen Biometrie-Datenbanken gewähren. US-Grenz- und Polizeibehörden sollen dafür Fingerabdrücke und Gesichtsbilder in Informationssystemen in den Schengen-Staaten abfragen dürfen.

Die Erlaubnis zum staatlichen Hacken ist Teil einer größeren Justizreform.
Staatliche Stellen haben letztes Jahr 23 Millionen Mal abgefragt, wem eine Telefonnummer gehört. Damit ist die Zahl der Anfragen das erste Mal seit Langem rückläufig.
Im konkreten Fall wehren sich nun die drei Journalisten Ronen Steinke (SZ), Henrik Rampe (frei) und Jörg Poppendieck (rbb) gegen die Abhörmaßnahme. Sie alle hatten sich laut der Pressemitteilung über das Telefon mit der Klimagruppe ausgetauscht. Ronen Steinke, rechtspolitischer Korrespondent der Süddeutschen Zeitung, sagt: „Journalistengespräche abhören, ununterbrochen, monatelang, und die Abgehörten auch hinterher darüber im Dunkeln lassen – ein solcher Übergriff des Staates höhlt die Pressefreiheit aus. Vertrauliche Gespräche sind für unabhängigen Journalismus essenziell.“
