The Communist Party of Israel and the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (Hadash) condemned on Wednesday evening, April 8, “the heinous and horrific massacre committed by the far-right Israeli government in Lebanon, only hours after the announcement of a temporary ceasefire in the war. This is a clear sign of the crisis facing war criminals, whose aggressive policies repeatedly fail to establish what they term the New World Order. Furthermore, Netanyahu and his government understand that ending the war signifies the collapse of their legitimacy and the end of their time in power.”

Anger and surprise in Israel after US-Iran ceasefire

The ceasefire agreed between the United States and Iran has been met with anger and sharp criticism in Israel.
Politicians, commentators and analysts were quick to condemn the framework, with many blaming Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for what they described as a failure.
It’s Not Trump. It’s America.
Is Trump a freak of history or its fulfillment, an aberration or a culmination? The answer, surely, is both. But in the course of his presidency, Trump has revealed a much older malady: America’s unshakable faith in its ability to shape the world to its liking, indifferent to what others might want and supremely confident that its plan is the right one. Beyond Trump, it’s this disfiguring mentality we Americans must face.
Bombed, but standing
President Masoud Pezeshkian walked Tehran’s sidewalks unfettered, shook hands with people, took selfies with them, and promised to resist. Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni Eje’i chanted even more loudly as the enemy bombed a site in close proximity to him. Iran’s culture minister and Tehran’s mayor, two politicians from opposite sides of the political spectrum, walked together and raised their fists as smoke billowed behind them. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told foreign reporters that the U.S. would eventually have to accept the determination and resolve of the Iranian people, and Security Chief Ali Larijani said the enemy has yet to truly get to know the Iranian nation. The large presence of Iranian officials came after the American war secretary claimed they had gone underground and were in hiding.
We are at war, therefore we are
For these three men — Lapid, Golan, and Bennett — no task is supposedly more urgent than replacing Netanyahu’s blood-soaked, Kahanist government, which has led the country to unprecedented depths. They understand how dangerous he is. They know the devastation another term would bring.
Yet the moment the smell of war fills the air, all these insights evaporate, replaced by automatic reverence to the Israeli war machine. It is as if the very idea that a war can be opposed simply does not exist within their cognitive framework.
The ‘Crazy’ Plot to Release the Epstein Files
