Nina Turner gave another unbelievable emotional speech for Bernie Sanders! Preach on!

The measure would also sunset 180 days after enactment all existing AUMFs, including the 2001 AUMF passed in the wake of the September 11 attacks and upon which every consecutive administration has leaned to justify military actions in regions around the world.
Instead of the current default approval of arms sales barring a passage of a resolution of disapproval by veto-proof majorities of the House and Senate, the proposal directs Congress to proactively approve certain sales topping $14 million including those of air to ground munitions.
The first test in progressives’ push to reexamine U.S. military aid to Israel could be a $735 million precision-guided munitions sale. The Biden administration notified Congress it approved the sale before the Gaza conflict started, but it became a flashpoint over the past week after news reports publicly revealed the sale.
A group of progressives led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) introduced a resolution in the House to block the sale, while Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) introduced the Senate version.
Pressed on how the U.S. can take an „evenhanded“ approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict when the Hamas terrorist group does not recognize Israel’s right to exist, Sanders slammed the Netanyahu government, saying it is not innocent in the hostilities.
„What you have got to do is also understand that over the years the Netanyahu government has become extremely right-wing. And that there are people in the Israeli government now who are overt racists,“ Sanders told the CBS program. „You have in West Jerusalem people being evicted from their homes. Tremendous pressure on people within Israel, the Arab community, as well as Gaza.“
Ohio Democrat Senator Sherrod Brown said Tuesday that he would push for a Senate vote on $2,000 stimulus checks by joining Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders’s filibuster on the Senate floor.
Efforts to increase stimulus payments to $2,000 were blocked in the U.S. Senate on Tuesday, while Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell put forth a new bill. Sen. Bernie Sanders was one of those making the case for higher stimulus payments. He joins Amna Nawaz to discuss.
Trump responded to comments that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) could filibuster a move to override the president’s veto of the defense funding bill unless a vote is held on the $2,000 checks.
Replying to details of this potential move, Trump wrote on Twitter: „Give the people $2000, not $600. They have suffered enough!“
Sanders, an independent from Vermont, made the comments after Democrats in the House – joined by 44 Republicans – voted to more than triple the $600 checks included in the coronavirus relief package signed by President Donald Trump over the weekend.
Soon after Sanders’ announcement, Markey said he would join in on the filibuster.
“That relief passed in the House today with 44 Republicans voting for it,” Markey wrote on Twitter. “Senate Republicans must do the same and get the American people the help they need.”
„This week on the Senate floor Mitch McConnell wants to vote to override Trump’s veto of the $740 billion defense funding bill and then head home for the New Year. I’m going to object until we get a vote on legislation to provide a $2,000 direct payment to the working class,“ Sanders tweeted.

In contrast, she said, “this question of whether Pelosi should be ousted altogether, and whether we have to do so because there’s not someone in the ranks, is a new one.”
“It’s an interesting conversation given that we’ve had now two years of these progressive ‘Squad’ members in office who came in really hot to do something about Nancy Pelosi and to threaten her leadership at that point,” she added.
Also ridiculing „rigged elections“ and „fake news“ — two other weapons used on him — the Vermont Senator’s relationship to the Democratic Party descends from loyal support to abject subservience.
Speaking with NBC News‘ Lester Holt in his first interview since the Nov. 3 election, Biden said the two progressive senators – who ran their own unsuccessful campaigns for president – were key to helping pass his „very ambitious, very progressive agenda.“

Electoral fraud, sometimes referred to as election fraud, election manipulation or vote rigging, is illegal interference with the process of an election, either by increasing the vote share of the favored candidate, depressing the vote share of the rival candidates, or both.
States which had been projected to expect large Sanders wins, corresponded with raw data on exit polls confirming the expected Sanders wins.
Computerized vote counts however, showed very large Biden wins. The DNC accepted computer vote counts and CHANGED NUMBERS on exit polls to suggest that Biden won.
(June 7, 2016)
Given the stakes in the outcome of the American presidential elections, ensuring the integrity of the electoral process is of the utmost importance. Are the results we are witnessing in the 2016 primary elections trustworthy? While Donald Trump enjoyed a clear and early edge over his Republican rivals, the Democratic contest between former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Senator Bernard Sanders has been far more competitive. At present, Secretary Clinton enjoys an apparent advantage over Sanders. Is this claimed advantage legitimate? We contend that it is not, and suggest an explanation for the advantage: States that are at risk for election fraud in 2016 systematically and overwhelmingly favor Secretary Clinton. We provide converging evidence for this claim.
First, we show that it is possible to detect irregularities in the 2016 Democratic Primaries by comparing the states that have hard paper evidence of all the placed votes to states that do
not have this hard paper evidence. Second, we compare the final results in 2016 to the
discrepant exit polls. Furthermore, we show that no such irregularities occurred in the 2008
competitive election cycle involving Secretary Clinton against President Obama. As such, we
find that in states wherein voting fraud has the highest potential to occur, systematic efforts may
have taken place to provide Secretary Clinton with an exaggerated margin of support.
(June 15, 2016)
What’s True
Two researchers (presumably graduate students) from Stanford University and Tilburg University co-authored a paper asserting they uncovered information suggesting widespread primary election fraud favoring Hillary Clinton had occurred across multiple states.
What’s False
The paper was not a „Stanford Study,“ and its authors acknowledged their claims and research methodology had not been subject to any form of peer review or academic scrutiny.

Concerned Sanders would win Nevada, Sen. Harry Reid, the former Senate Majority Leader and most powerful elected official in Nevada, as it later emerged, arranged a plan with owners of Las Vegas casinos, where many caucuses were being held, and other employers, to ensure Clinton would win. The Nevada caucuses were then rigged with massive voting irregularities such as casino owners orchestrating which workers would be allowed to vote and, in clear intimidation, openly monitoring how they voted.
Vote tampering also occurred in other states, most recently in Arizona where on election day, polling locations were sharply cut forcing many voters to stand in line for up to five hours in the heat, with some leaving before casting a vote.
Joe Biden’s team is considering an informal ban on naming Democratic U.S. senators to the Cabinet if he wins — which would effectively block Elizabeth Warren for Treasury or Bernie Sanders for Labor — people familiar with the discussions tell Axios.
„Joe Biden spent his entire time in the Senate—long, long days, hours, nights—working to cut your Social Security,“ Trump said during Friday’s rally. „You don’t know about that. To cut your Medicare. People don’t know about that. He denies it. He denied it last night.“
Trump then introduced the video which featured footage from a March Democratic Presidential debate between Biden and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

Sen. Bernie Sanders gives his thoughts on the latest stimulus negotiations and shares his concerns with the proposal being floated by the Trump Administration.
“If the Democrats gain control of the Senate, the first order of business will be a massive stimulus bill to protect desperate working people throughout this country,” Sanders said on Hill.TV’s “Rising.”
The remarks come as Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin press on in their negotiations on COVID-19 aid. Pelosi has stuck to her position that a stimulus package must total at least $2.2 trillion, while the administration has inched up to $1.8 trillion.
In another exchange, the president said Democrats will struggle to unite at their convention this week, as many of the more progressive members of the party balk at a ticket including former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif.
„These are the same people I beat last time and they’re not gonna unite because they can’t unite, they don’t know how to unite,“ Trump said. „Also, Bernie [Sanders] is very unhappy, but actually, Biden went further left than Bernie wanted him to and Bernie’s still unhappy.“

As the force of the defund police movement has taken some by surprise, Biden has hardly been the only politician to seek to defend the status quo. Even his one-time rival, Sen. Bernie Sanders, indicated in a recent interview that he objected calls to defund the police. “I think we want to redefine what police departments do, give them the support they need to make their jobs better defined,” said Sanders. “So I do believe that we need well-trained, well-educated, and well-paid professionals in police departments.”
That’s what officials have promised for years. P
Odeh and Sanders first met in February 2017, when the Odeh visited Washington to attend that year’s J Street conference.
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders addressed the rally via video conference, expressing his support for the protesters and condemnation of Israel’s annexation plans. The senator said that he was “heartened” to see Arabs and Jews demonstrating together.

Many senators wanted to forbid the government from secretly collecting information about your internet habits, but an amendment failed by just one vote.
The measure needed 60 votes to pass. It got 59.
The outcome is especially frustrating since four senators didn’t vote on the amendment at all, and at least one would have voted yes. Lamar Alexander couldn’t vote because he’s quarantined. Two others — Ben Sasse and Bernie Sanders — didn’t respond to request for comment on where they were during the vote. An aide told Politico that Patty Murray would have voted yes had she been there, but the senator was not in Washington, DC, when the vote occurred.
The announcement is the latest indication that Biden’s campaign is trying to secure the support of Sanders’ fans.
Jeff Weaver, who served as Mr. Sanders’s campaign manager in 2016 and as a top adviser in 2020, is leading the effort, which will focus on mobilizing the base of Sanders supporters — young people, liberals Latinos and “blue-collar progressives” — for Mr. Biden.

And lest there be any question, the 78-year-old Vermont senator confirmed that “it’s probably a very fair assumption” that he would not run for president again. He added, with a laugh: “One can’t predict the future.”
Joe Biden has been a horrible, evil politician since long before his rape allegations went mainstream and his brain started turning to porridge. If people could gaze with fresh, unmanipulated eyes upon someone who’s dedicated his entire political career to neoliberal exploitation at home and neoconservative mass murder abroad, someone who openly boasts about authoring the foundational documents of the USA PATRIOT Act, someone who promises rich donors that “nothing fundamentally will change” if he’s elected and who they know from experience can be taken at his word, it would never occur to them that this is someone who should be running for any elected office anywhere, let along within spitting distance of the most powerful one in the world.
It is only by the ability of the mass media to manufacture the illusion of normality that this bullshit has been made possible.
„Today, I am asking all Americans, I’m asking every Democrat, I’m asking every Independent, I’m asking a lot of Republicans, to come together in this campaign to support your candidacy, which I endorse — to make certain that we defeat somebody who I believe — and I’m speaking just for myself now — is the most dangerous president in the modern history of this country,“ Sanders said, joining Biden.

Trump also thanked Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), reiterating his belief that she may have taken away enough votes from Sanders on Super Tuesday last month to cost him states. Warren finished third or in some cases a distant fourth in each state Joe Biden won on Super Tuesday.
„Bernie Sanders is OUT! Thank you to Elizabeth Warren. If not for her, Bernie would have won almost every state on Super Tuesday!“ Trump tweeted.

Sen. Bernie Sanders on Wednesday night said he would „love to debate Joe Biden on this issue“—the difference between a Medicare for All plan that dozens of studies show would cover all people for less overall cost and the for-profit status quo that leaves an estimated 28 million Americans uninsured and tens of millions more underinsured, vulnerable to bankruptcies, or lacking care due to financial reasons.

Joe Biden is moving closer to consolidating the support of moderate Democratic voters and donors after a resounding victory in South Carolina and Pete Buttigieg’s departure from the party’s presidential race.
Let’s start with the simple fact that Biden has been hovering around the 15% threshold for delegates in a number of states, including the huge Super Tuesday delegate prize of California. Biden was at 13% in a CNN/SSRS poll conducted there. Buttigieg was at 7%. If Biden gets two points of that 7%, it could make all the difference in the world to him. That alone could net Biden dozens or more of delegates.
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders holds substantial leads in the two largest states to vote in this week’s Super Tuesday lineup of primaries, according to new CNN polls conducted by SSRS in California and Texas.
Trump predicted in a tweet that the majority of Buttigieg’s votes in Super Tuesday states would go to Biden, thereby hamstringing Sanders’s chances of obtaining the Democratic nomination.
„Pete Buttigieg is OUT,“ Trump wrote. „All of his SuperTuesday votes will go to Sleepy Joe Biden. Great timing. This is the REAL beginning of the Dems taking Bernie out of play – NO NOMINATION, AGAIN!“

And on this, Dr. Martin Luther King — often smeared as a “red” or a communist — was very clear. In 1966, he confided to his staff:
“You can’t talk about solving the economic problem of the Negro without talking about billions of dollars. You can’t talk about ending the slums without first saying profit must be taken out of the slums. You’re really tampering and getting on dangerous ground because you are messing with folk then. You are messing with captains of industry. Now this means that we are treading in difficult water, because it really means that we are saying that something is wrong with capitalism. There must be a better distribution of wealth, and maybe America must move toward a democratic socialism.”
“I voted against the Patriot Act in 2001, 2006, 2011 and 2015. I strongly oppose its reauthorization next month,” he tweeted on February 11. “I believe that in a democratic and constitutional form of government, we cannot sacrifice the civil liberties that make us a free country.”

Trump loved it when Wikileaks exposed the criminality of Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party, as it cheated to deprive Bernie Sanders of the Democratic Party nomination. The CIA is “a dangerous institution that has got to go,” Sanders told an audience in Vermont in October 1974. He described the agency as a tool of American corporate interests that repeatedly toppled democratically elected leaders — including, he said, Mosaddegh. The agency was accountable to no one, he fumed, “except right-wing lunatics who use it to prop up fascist dictatorships.”
At the time, the 33-year-old socialist was running for U.S. Senate on the ticket of the Liberty Union Party, an anti-war group that likened the draft to “a modern form of slavery” and called for reducing the U.S. military in favor of local militias and the Coast Guard.

You simply cannot compare the victory of Bernie Sanders, whose kin was murdered in the Holocaust, to the Nazi defeat of France.
This is a moment in media to grow and become curious or irrelevant.
„I was reading last night about the fall of France in the summer of 1940,“ said Matthews, „And the general, Reynaud, calls up Churchill and says, ‚It’s over.‘ And Churchill says, ‚How can that be? You’ve got the greatest army in Europe. How can it be over?‘ He said, ‚It’s over.'“

Democratic front-runner Sen. Bernie Sanders made a distinction between being “for the Israeli people” and supporting the “right-wing racist governments that currently exist in Israel,” at a CNN Town Hall in Las Vegas on Tuesday.
When an audience member asked the question “How do U.S.-Israel relations look under your administration?” Sanders responded: “To be for the Israeli people and to be for peace in the Middle East does not mean that we have to support right-wing, racist governments that currently exist in Israel.” His reply drew enthusiastic applause from the audience.
“He hasn’t just come to this fight, he has been fighting for these issues for his entire life,” she said. “He did this when it was least convenient, he paid the highest political cost.”
SANDERS: You know, we pride ourselves on being the longest-standing democracy in the world. And we’re proud of that. To me, what that means, one person, one vote. If you want to run for president, you run for president. You’ve got good ideas, maybe you win, maybe you don’t win.
But I do think it’s a bit obscene that we have somebody who, by the way, chose not to contest in Iowa, in Nevada, in South Carolina, in New Hampshire where all of the candidates, we did town meetings, we were talking to thousands and thousands of people, working hard. He said, I don’t have to do that. I’m worth $60 billion. I have more wealth than the bottom 125 million Americans. I’ll buy the presidency. That offends me very much.

Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign plans to ask for a partial recount of the Iowa caucus results after the state Democratic Party released results of its recanvass late Tuesday that show Sanders and Pete Buttigieg in an effective tie.

Sanders, the wife of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, told Fox News Saturday the „powers-that-be“ in America are placing a shallow focus on her husband’s „Democratic socialist“ label instead of what they’re really attacking — his campaign policies. Jane Sanders said „corporate socialism“ has benefited billionaires like President Donald Trump and Michael Bloomberg, while hard-working U.S. taxpayers end up paying for their business subsidies and bailouts.
With the slogan “Not me. Us,” Sanders acknowledges he’s part of something larger than himself: A movement for social justice and economic democracy to counter the threat of right-wing authoritarianism. So don’t think about it as voting for him; think about it as voting for all of us.
Power is the ability to control what happens. Absolute power is controlling what people think about what happens.
Sanders received 24 percent of the vote from potential Democratic primary voters, a jump from 12 percent in the same poll in October. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) remained in third place with 15 percent.

Seth Rich, 27, was shot twice in the head in what appeared to be an attempted robbery near his home in a suburb of the US capital on July 10, but his belongings were not taken.
Two weeks later WikiLeaks, the website, published thousands of embarrassing internal emails which showed Democratic Party officials favouring Hillary Clinton over her rival Bernie Sanders.
The scandal led to the resignation of the party chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
The opening email, at the bottom, dated 10 August 2016 at 10.32 a.m., precisely, just one month after the murder of Seth Rich, is from the media handling department of the Washington Field Office. It references WikiLeaks’ offer of a reward for information on the murder of Seth Rich, and that Assange seemed to imply Rich was the source of the DNC leaks.
Sanders is a candidate who presents himself less as a personality than a conduit for a movement. And in the Bernie bubble, Ocasio-Cortez is seen as the future of the movement embodied. What makes her so effective as a surrogate, beyond her star power, is that if you campaign on electing a movement rather that a person, there’s no difference between hearing the message from the 78-year-old white male candidate or his 30-year-old Latina supporter. The perception among her supporters is that a vote for Sanders is also a vote for Ocasio-Cortez to continue her rise.
The document reviewed by The Post shows how the Sanders campaign has already begun extensive planning for how the senator would lead the country in his first days as president if he won the Democratic nomination and defeated Trump in November. Many of the proposals Sanders has floated on the campaign trail do not have support from congressional Republicans and are opposed by some Democrats, so a willingness to move forward without congressional approval could determine whether many of his policies are enacted.
So, while the other three Democrats tested — Biden, Warren and Buttigieg — split that vote about 60-40 in their favor, Sanders beats Trump 70 to 30 among voters 18 to 29 years old.”
Independent voters are also a strength for Sanders in Texas, Blank said. He was the only one of the four candidates to beat Trump among independents.
“[W]hile all three Democrats, aside from Sanders, lost independents to Trump in this poll, basically 60 to 30 or so with the rest of them unsure, Sanders is actually ahead of Trump with independents, 44 to 41,” he added.
„One important thing to highlight: The Trump administration was briefing the Republican conference today, and several people told me that the administration made it clear that if Senator Sanders’s and my amendment passed, then it would have prevented the Suleimani strike. Well, Senator Sanders’s and my amendment had passed two months ago and was part of the national defense authorization, until it was stripped. And the lesson is that we should have fought harder to make sure it wasn’t stripped. It would have literally prevented this entire crisis.“
Yet some of the president’s big-money backers say they aren’t interested in bankrolling an effort aimed at propping up Sanders. They worry his potential strength in a general election is being badly underestimated, much as Democrats wrongly discounted Trump four years ago.
No Democrat in modern times has lost contested races in both Iowa and New Hampshire and claimed the nomination.
The early primary and caucus outcomes could have an outsize impact on later primaries, including the large states voting in March, some of which begin collecting mail-in and early ballots in the immediate aftermath of Iowa.
Bernie 2020 Iowa State director Misty Rebik said in a press release Sunday that the campaign was going to rely on the movement to get the campaign over the finish line.
„Our volunteers are working harder than ever to reach as many Iowans as possible and expand the electorate,“ said Rebik. „Our movement is fueled by working people who want to see real, fundamental change. Together, we’re going to win the Iowa caucus, send Bernie Sanders to the White House, and make history.“
Just eight days remain until the primary begins here in Iowa — and Bernie Sanders is leading the polls. For some Democrats, it’s a scenario they say they’ve dreaded and feared: waking up to the reality that the 78-year-old Vermont senator, an independent who has reshaped party policy and promised to bring a revolution to Washington, has a real shot at capturing the nomination.

Sanders separated himself from the pack in a New York Times-Siena Research poll of Iowa released over the weekend, one of the first to find a clear-cut leader in the Hawkeye State. And a WBUR survey of New Hampshire released this week found Sanders opening up a 12-point advantage over the next closest contender.
Sanders surpassed Biden in CNN’s latest national poll, marking the first time Biden has not held the top spot in that poll this cycle.
Filmmaker Michael Moore introduced Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez during a campaign town hall event in Iowa City, IA.
Mr. Sanders has gained six points since the last Times-Siena survey, in late October, and is now capturing 25 percent of the vote in Iowa. Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Ind., and former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. have remained stagnant since the fall, with Mr. Buttigieg capturing 18 percent and Mr. Biden 17 percent.
The rise of Mr. Sanders has come at the expense of his fellow progressive, Senator Elizabeth Warren: she dropped from 22 percent in the October poll, enough to lead the field, to 15 percent in this survey.
In an interview with „CBS Evening News“ anchor Norah O’Donnell, Senator Bernie Sanders addressed questions about his health care plan, his criticism of Joe Biden and the impeachment trial.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Friday called it „disappointing“ that he is not on the campaign trail in Iowa in the final weeks before the caucuses due to the ongoing impeachment trial.
“Obviously, when we were planning out our schedule, trust me, we were not expecting to be in Washington this week,“ Sanders said in an interview airing Friday on „CBS Evening News.“

Four Democratic senators, including Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, are on Capitol Hill for Trump’s trial as the remaining candidates in Iowa campaign ahead of the caucuses.
With their candidates stuck in Washington for the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump, campaign staffers, organizers and surrogates for Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) are under pressure to help make closing arguments before the Iowa caucuses on Feb. 3.
The trial kicked off this week and will keep senators in session for six days a week, although it’s set to end early afternoon on Saturday, allowing the 2020 Senate candidates to travel to Iowa for the weekend.
Tucker Carlson is delivering a warning to the GOP about Bernie Sanders. Ana Kasparian and Cenk Uygur, hosts of The Young Turks, break it down.
Overall, 27% of registered voters who are Democrats or Democratic-leaning independents back Sanders, while 24% favor Biden. The margin between the two is within the poll’s margin of sampling error, meaning there is no clear leader in this poll.

Sanders said in an interview with NBC Nightly News, “On a good day, my wife likes me, so let’s clear the air on that one,” and then reportedly began talking about President Trump’s impeachment. When asked why he thinks Clinton is still talking about the 2016 presidential election, Sanders said, “That’s a good question. You should ask her.”
Sanders’ campaign told staffers internally to not discuss Clinton’s comments, and Sanders released a statement saying he is focusing on impeachment and that “together, we” will defeat President Donald Trump. His aides are also urging his online fans to volunteer for him instead of tweeting about Clinton.
That split over what direction the party should take is now a major issue in the current primary, with Mr. Sanders arguing for the full-throated leftist agenda and others counseling moderation.
“It’s time to grow up. This isn’t high school,” Gabbard said in an interview with WMUR News 9. “We’re talking about real challenges that our country needs to address and the need for real leadership to focus on them, not on what’s going on in Washington and the schoolyard cliques or whatever else it may be.”
Sanders is the most popular senator in the U.S. among his constituents and has an average national approval rating seven points higher than Clinton.
“A year from today, we’ll be hosting this show from the National Mall as the next president of the United States takes the oath of office,” Carlson said to begin his opening monologue. “Will that president be Donald Trump? As of tonight, Republicans in Washington feel confident it will be.”
He warned that Republicans thinking that a second term is assured are making a mistake.
For Clinton to attack Sanders as friendless and ineffective then — and to do so with the Iowa caucuses just 13 days away — affirms to Sanders backers that everything he has been running against within the Democratic Party is still out there, and still doesn’t like him. That it is coming from Clinton, who not only represents the dynastic streak within Democratic politics that many within the grassroots reject, but who also lost what everyone assumed to be a sure thing victory over Trump in 2016, makes this all even more powerful for Sanders.
Mrs. Clinton also dodged a question about whether she’d endorse and campaign for Mr. Sanders if he were to win the Democratic nomination.
Ahead of Monday’s official commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr., actor and activist John Cusack, journalist and public intellectual Naomi Klein, and writer and artist Molly Crabapple were among those who joined Sen. Bernie Sanders on the campaign trail in New Hampshire over the weekend to meet with voters and explain to rally-goers why their preferred candidate—coupled with the grassroots movement he now leads—represents something extremely rare in U.S. politics.
