Over the past few years, I came to the conclusion that Great Britain was worldâs chief arsonist of peace and suggested that if, the City of London, with its supporting structures in British government, banking, intelligence, secret diplomacy, along with a vast network of think tanks, media organizations, NGOs, charitable organizations and gambling casinos around the world could somehow be quarantined, probably 95% of all the worldâs wars and other problems would vanish overnight.

What a UK courtâs backing of the Palestine Action âterrorâ ban means
How has Palestine Action responded to the ruling?
In a statement read by a representative following the ruling, Palestine Actionâs Ammori said the group will challenge the judgement in the UKâs Supreme Court.
âWe will fight this all the way. We will seek permission to appeal to the Supreme Court and, if need be, take this to the European Court of Human Rights,â Ammori said.
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), established by the Council of Europe, allows individuals to hold member states accountable for rights violations through a dedicated court. When the ECHR finds a violation, its judgements are legally binding on the state concerned under the European Convention on Human Rights.
âWe will not stop fighting to overturn one of the most extreme attacks on free speech and the right to protest in modern British history,â Ammori added.
âThis unprecedented abuse of power has devastated the lives of thousands of people while silencing dissent over Israelâs slaughter of the Palestinian people during the genocide, when that dissent could not be more urgent.â
Palestine Action ban is lawful, Court of Appeal rules
(today)
The government‘s proscription of Palestine Action as a terror organisation is lawful, the Court of Appeal has ruled.
In one of the most significant rulings on national security in recent years, five of the most senior judges in the country overturned an earlier decision from the High Court that the ban had breached the right to protest and had been incorrectly taken by ministers.
But five Court of Appeal judges concluded in a hearing on Monday that the ban had been „justified and proportionate“.

Pro-Palestine activists sentenced as terrorists over damage at Israeli arms factory in UK
(June 12, 2026)
A report relied on by the prosecution at Fridayâs sentencing hearing said the raid on the factory had caused ÂŁ1.2m of damage, including to 41 military assets. The report referred to ÂŁ395,056 of damage to six units in an unnamed drone system as well as damage to other unmanned aerial vehicles.
Mr Justice Johnson told the four they had participated in a âcarefully planned and highly sophisticated attackâ, adding: âThe fact that you were trying to shut down a company that you thought was acting unlawfully does not reduce the seriousness of the offence.â

Pressure on Starmer Mounts as Dozens of Labour Lawmakers Call on Him to Quit
Dozens of Labour Party lawmakers called on Prime Minister Keir Starmer to resign on Monday, effectively rejecting their leaderâs efforts to quell a mutiny in the party ranks and raising the likelihood of a bruising leadership battle.
Mr. Starmer began the day with a speech he hoped would quiet the brewing rebellion, acknowledging the anger expressed by voters last week when they overwhelmingly rejected Labour Party candidates in elections across England, Scotland and Wales.
Political Earthquake in East London: New Polling Reveals Collapse in Labour Trust Ahead of 2026 Elections
(page source date: March 30, 2026)
New research published by Cratus Group reveals a seismic shift in political allegiances across East London, with the Labour Partyâs traditional âsafe territoryâ under threat from unprecedented voter volatility and a deepening trust deficit.
The report, The Battle for the East End, based on bespoke polling by Focaldata, examines voter sentiment in Newham, Redbridge, and Barking & Dagenham. The findings paint a stark picture of an electorate increasingly disillusioned with political institutions.
Starmer Faces Voter Revolt as Poll Signals Deep Trouble for Labour
Keir Starmer is facing a surge of public discontent, with a new poll indicating that a clear majority of voters believe he should step down, while many are also calling for a fresh general election.
The findings point to a sharp collapse in support, not only among the wider electorate but within Labourâs own ranks. A significant share of those who backed the party in the 2024 general election now say the Prime Minister should resign.
British Voters‘ Trust In America Plummets Amid Trump‘s Iran War
The Public First research for Politico found that more than half (53%) of the UK public now view America as a negative force globally, up from 35% in December.
At the same time, the proportion of voters who think the States plays a positive role in the world has slumped from 41% to 29%.
The poll of 2,000 people was carried out between April 3 and 7, around five weeks into the US and Israelâs bombing campaign in Iran.
Joint statement from the leaders of the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Japan on the Strait of Hormuz: 19 March 2026
Consistent with UNSC Resolution 2817, we emphasise that such interference with international shipping and the disruption of global energy supply chains constitute a threat to international peace and security.
Starmer says the UK‘s working with allies to bring a viable plan to reopen Strait of Hormuz
He says the Strait of Hormuz must be reopened to „ensure stability in the markets“.
„That is not a simple task,“ he says, which is why the UK is working with „all of our allies“ to bring a „viable plan“ to restore freedom of navigation to the region.

MPs, trade unionists, celebrities and other public figures sign open letter calling on British government to end participation in Iran war
LIVE: Anti-war protest in London

Protesters gather in central London for a âHands off Iran – Stop Trumpâs Wars“ demonstration.
Stop Bombing Iran
We oppose the US-Israeli illegal war on Iran which is setting the Middle East alight. The war has already escalated into a region-wide conflict. Many hundreds have been killed, including 160 at a girls‘ school in southern Iran.
The UK must not be dragged into yet another disastrous US-led conflict in the Middle East.
We demand that the UK Government:
– Condemns the illegal war on Iran and calls for an immediate de-escalation of hostilities.
– Guarantees that no UK military bases, resources, territory nor airspace will be used by the US or any other military force as part of this war.
– Immediately suspends all arms sales and military support to Israel.
The UK must stand for peace, diplomacy and international law â not escalation and endless war.
Sign this petition to demand that Britain stays out of the war on Iran.

It reads: âBill to require parliamentary approval for the deployment of UK armed forces and military equipment for armed conflict; to require parliamentary approval for the granting of permission by ministers for use of UK military bases and equipment by other nations for armed conflict; to require the withdrawal of that permission in circumstances where parliamentary approval is not granted; to provide for certain exemptions from these requirements; to make provision for retrospective parliamentary approval in certain circumstances; and for connected purposes.â
Greens, Your Party and Labour backbenchers build anti-war alliance in parliament
(today)
The alliance is between the resurgent Green Party, the new left-wing Your Party, the parliamentary Independent Alliance of independent MPs and Labour backbenchers.
Jeremy Corbyn, former Labour leader and parliamentary leader of the new Your Party, on Thursday tabled a parliamentary bill with cross-party backing that would require parliament‘s approval for the foreign use of British military bases.
It comes in response to Prime Minister Keir Starmer‘s decision on Sunday night to allow the US to use UK military bases for the purpose of targeting Iranian missile sites.
Your Party under Corbyn to work with Greens on âcoordinated left-flank offensiveâ
(February 26, 2026)
A Jeremy Corbyn-led Your Party will work with the Green party and others to push for a âcoordinated left-flank offensiveâ against Reform and Labour, the Guardian understands.
After winning a comprehensive victory to become the de facto leader of the leftwing startup party on Thursday, Corbyn will seek to rebuild bridges with pro-Gaza communities âalienatedâ by his rival Zarah Sultana, sources close to Corbyn said.
Poll: half of Labour voters would vote Green at next election
The survey also found that Keir Starmerâs approval rating has hit a record low, with just 15% of respondents approving of his leadership, giving him a net score of -49. The figure is lower than that of Theresa May, Boris Johnson, or Rishi Sunak at the least popular points in their premierships.
This poll follows Labourâs crushing defeat in the Gorton and Denton by-election earlier this week, where the Green Party captured a seat it had never won before
Zack Polanski calls for end to âspecial relationshipâ as he brands US ârogue stateâ after Iran strikes
As news of the military action broke, the 43-year-old London Assembly member wrote on social media: „This is an illegal, unprovoked and brutal attack that shows once again that the USA and Israel are rogue states.“
„The UK must end our cosy relationship with the USA and our ongoing support for Israel.
He added: „There is only one nuclear armed state in the Middle East. It is Israel.“
Green Party Leader Polanski Criticises UK for Not Condemning Trumpâs Attack on Iran
(March 1, 2026)
Green Party leader Zack Polanski has condemned the recent US military strikes on Iran, calling them âillegal and unprovokedâ. The strikes, which resulted in the death of Iranâs Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, have led to retaliatory missile attacks across the Middle East. Polanski argued that international law is eroding and criticised the UK governmentâs failure to condemn Americaâs actions. He called for the UK to sever ties with the US over these military actions and urged Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to take a stronger stance in supporting international law and de-escalation.
