Every PHP version released in the last decade is affected by at least one of these vulnerabilities, going back to version 5.4. Attackers can exploit them remotely, in some cases fairly easily. Immediate patching is strongly advised.
On October 21, 2026, PHP released the patch fixing multiple memory-safety vulnerabilities in the core engine.

The US said on Wednesday it had seized 90 separate shipments of biodiesel bound for Cuba worth nearly $3 million, the second time in a week US authorities have announced the seizure of „illegal“ fuel en route to the island nation.
The unrest is not being organised as a single Europe-wide movement. The grievances are different from country to country, but the concerns are strikingly similar. Students are increasingly questioning whether governments are putting enough money into education at a time when schools and universities are struggling with staff shortages, infrastructure problems and higher costs.
Worries about a potential debt crisis in France boiled over last week, leading to a selloff in French bonds and a sharp rise in yields.
The spread between French and German bond yields expanded to its widest level since 2012. That difference in yields means investors are demanding much higher returns to hold debt from France compared with Germany, which is deemed a safer alternative.
The French bond rout has sparked fears of spillovers to other high-yield European debt markets, with some analysts drawing parallels with the eurozone debt crisis of the early 2010s.

Die entscheidende Eigenschaft eines Sondervermögens ist, dass es Ausgaben und Schulden aus dem sichtbaren Bundeshaushalt herauslöst. Das Bundesfinanzministerium kann damit Kreditaufnahmen tätigen, die im regulären Etat nicht erscheinen, nicht dem parlamentarischen Budgetrecht unterfallen und nicht gegen die Schuldenbremse verstoßen, sofern das Sondervermögen im Grundgesetz verankert ist. Wer also nur den offiziellen Bundeshaushalt liest, hat kein vollständiges Bild der staatlichen Verschuldung Deutschlands.

Hintergrund: Im sich bald neu konstituierenden Bundestag bringen CDU, SPD und Grüne nicht mehr die für die Abstimmung notwendige Zweidrittelmehrheit auf. AfD und Linke verfügen dann über eine Sperrminorität.

Louai Ridi, a Palestinian American, has been effectively trapped on his property since settlers first arrived in the area on Aug. 9. NABLUS, August 15, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists on Saturday attacked a team from the Qusra municipality south of Nablus as it attempted to restore electricity to homes that have been under siege for about a week, while Israeli forces detained three members of the crew.
Local sources told WAFA that the municipal crew headed to the homes after receiving coordination to restore electricity, which colonists had cut off more than a week ago. The colonists attacked and surrounded the crew before Israeli forces intervened and detained three of its members.
Meantime, colonists continued to besiege the homes of three Palestinian families in Qusra amid a deployment of Israeli forces in the area, the sources said.

Three Palestinian families – around 15 people in total, including at least two children – have remained confined to their homes “in a state of terror” in the Ras al Ein area of Qusra village, south of Nablus, OHCHR said, alleging that the settlers had cut their power and water.
“These criminal actions by the settlers, supported or acquiesced to by Israel, the Occupying Power, are making life unbearable for these Palestinian families and are clearly aimed at forcing them to leave their homes and their land,” the UN office said. “Time is running out for these three families before they are forcibly displaced”.
