Cuba reports that international shipping companies yield to U.S. pressure
âThere are foreign companies that have yielded to this pressure and have withdrawn from the country. Others remain and continue working with us,â the Deputy Prime Minister stated.
According to PĂ©rez-Oliva, the intensification of the blockade has severed Cubaâs banking and financial relations with numerous institutions and imposes a trade embargo through direct threats against international shipping companies.
The Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment explained that Cuba has containers being held in international ports because some shipping companies have suspended services to the island, while others are operating under ârestrictions imposed illegally and unilaterally by the United States.â
Colonists attack Qusra municipal crew as Israeli forces detain three
NABLUS, August 15, 2026 (WAFA) â Israeli colonists on Saturday attacked a team from the Qusra municipality south of Nablus as it attempted to restore electricity to homes that have been under siege for about a week, while Israeli forces detained three members of the crew.
Local sources told WAFA that the municipal crew headed to the homes after receiving coordination to restore electricity, which colonists had cut off more than a week ago. The colonists attacked and surrounded the crew before Israeli forces intervened and detained three of its members.
Meantime, colonists continued to besiege the homes of three Palestinian families in Qusra amid a deployment of Israeli forces in the area, the sources said.

IRGC Navy: Strait of Hormuz closed until US ends regional intervention
Earlier, the IRGC Navy reported having been forced to fire a warning shot at a vessel after several ships ignored its instructions regarding navigation through the strait.
Describing the incident involving the trespassing vessel, the force said the ship had switched off its onboard systems, therefore, posing a threat to maritime safety.
UKMTO issues warning after report of fire on board container ship
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) says it has received a report of an incident some nine nautical miles (about 17km) east of the Omani coast.
âMilitary authorities have reported that a container ship has sustained damage to the rear of the vessel, which has caused a fire on board,â it said.
âVessels are advised to transit with caution,â it added.
The alert came moments after CENTCOM announced the start of a third round of strikes on Iran, citing an Iranian attack on a Cyprus-flagged ship in the strait.
Channel 13 reports curbs on Israeli army movements in Lebanon

House Democrats on Monday demanded the Department of Homeland Security rescind a controversial directive allowing federal immigration agents to forcibly enter peopleâs homes without a signed warrant from a judge, following the leak of a memorandum detailing the agencyâs broad assertion of law enforcement authority.
Lawmakers say the memo took âa battering ramâ to the Constitution and the Fourth Amendmentâs protections against unreasonable search and seizure â and pushed back on the Trump administrationâs claims that non-U.S. citizens are not subject to those rights.
