Look what‘s happening out in the streets
Got a revolution (got to revolution)
Hey, I‘m dancing down the streets
Got a revolution (got to revolution)
Oh, ain‘t it amazing all the people I meet?
Got a revolution (got to revolution)
One generation got old
One generation got soul
This generation got no destination to hold
Pick up the cry
Hey, now it‘s time for you and me
Got a revolution (got to revolution)
Hey, come on now we‘re marching to the sea
Got a revolution (got to revolution)
Who will take it from you, we will and who are we?
Well, we are volunteers of America (volunteers of America)

Silvio Rodríguez: ‘The world is run by an authoritarian, warmongering, thieving regime. And it’s not Cuba’
(March 26, 2026)
The image of a rifle in the hands of a singer-songwriter is strange, but not when the one wielding it is Silvio Rodríguez, 79. The Cuban singer-songwriter has spent his entire life singing, directly or indirectly, about the Revolution, its leaders and its ideals; about the martyrs and the guerrillas. “There are politics in my songs, but not propaganda,” says the musician, who receives EL PAÍS on Wednesday at the Ojalá studios in Havana. He speaks of the government’s “orthodox and closed” vision in the economic sphere, and of his commitment to a less “rigid” socialism. “Socialism by the book is very idealistic,” he concludes. He doesn’t budge an inch on his opinion of the United States government: “The world is run by an authoritarian, warmongering, thieving regime. And it’s not Cuba.”

Jesse Jackson‘s David and Goliath speech
Jackson speaking at a rally during his 1984 run for President comparing the election to the David and Goliath story with Reagan as Goliath and parts the liberal/Democratic coalition as little David.
Jesse Jackson, Charismatic Champion of Civil Rights, Dies at 84
The Rev. Jesse Jackson, whose impassioned oratory and populist vision of a “rainbow coalition” of the poor and forgotten made him the nation’s most influential Black figure in the years between the civil rights crusades of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the election of Barack Obama, died on Tuesday at his home in Chicago. He was 84.
Reminder that Francesca Albanese is not being targeted for a sentence twisted and lifted out of context in a speech. She is being targeted for daring to name the names of giant companies complicit in the crime of genocide. They would rather destroy international law than be accountable to it.

The Trump-Vance-Noem-Bovino Message to Americans: Obey or Die
Back in 1980, I went into Uganda during the Civil War against Idi Amin to take over a refugee camp up in the Karamoja region. When I was leaving the country, going through the Entebbe airport (which had only intermittent electricity and considerable damage from the war), I was confronted by three armed men, two of them Tanzanian soldiers (who’d just successfully occupied the country as Amin fled to Saudi Arabia) and one a local Ugandan policeman.
One of the soldiers had an AK-47 over his shoulder and he grabbed the clip and rotated the gun down so the barrel was pointed right at my nose from a distance of about 6 inches.
“I could kill you right here, right now,” he said with a smile, “and nobody will ever know. Nobody will ever punish me. Now, give us half of your money.”
His message was essentially the same message that the Trump regime is trying to communicate to all of us today:
Opinion: Rand Paul demands vote on war in Venezuela: ‚I‘m old-fashioned‘
“I’m reminded of what my mother would tell me when I was a kid, ‘Ten wrongs don’t make a right,’ so the fact that 10 presidents have done it doesn’t make it right. Our Founding Fathers were united to a person — all those who signed, all those who debated over the Constitution, the Federalist Papers — were unanimous that Congress should declare war, no president should on his own. Now we have disobeyed that, but we do have the ability, if Congress rose up in a clear two-thirds majority and said ‘no,’ we could overturn any veto.”

Ideal – Keine Heimat (Na, sowas!, 07.02.1983)
Premiered Apr 12, 2025
The Trumpanyahu “Peace” Plan, And Other Notes
The onus is on the party committing genocide to stop committing genocide. The onus is not on the victims of the genocide to sign agreements in the hope of saving themselves from the genocide. This is obvious to anyone who isn’t a psychopath.

I didn’t come to where I’m at ideologically from reading Lenin or talking to Marxists, I got here because I did a lot of inner work and had some transformative experiences and came out the other side with a deep love for this beautiful planet and for the strange naked ape mutants who people it, and with a yearning to help create a healthy world. I just kinda felt my way through the human experience as the barefoot hippie earth mama that I am, and it carried me to a clear intuitive understanding that the western empire must end and that capitalism cannot carry our species into the future.

Raging grannies become Yvette Cooper’s worst nightmare
(August 19, 2025)
La Pethick, an 89-year-old retired psychotherapist, became the poster granny of the August 8 Parliament Square protest when a photo of her in her white hat being carried away by police spread like wildfire across the internet. Pethick, a retired psychotherapist from near Hastings, East Sussex, told the Times, “We are having our right to peaceful protest being taken away.”
Claudia Cotton, 89, a Jewish refugee also interviewed by the Times and whose family fled Nazi Germany in 1939, told the newspaper: “I am prepared to be arrested. In fact, I think it’s a good thing because it shows how ordinary people are willing to go to prison to oppose governments that are doing evil things.”
Grandmother Manji Mansfield, observed in an interview with Al Jazeera during the August 8 protest, “This isn’t the Britain that I grew up in. We are now living in an alternative universe.”

„I am Spartacus.“ Former Pink Floyd legend Roger Waters risks prosecution, and a potential 14 year jail term, by voicing his support for Palestine Action, now proscribed as a terrorist group in the UK
(July 8, 2025)
As of Saturday, July 5, membership of Palestine Action, or expressing public support for the group, is a criminal offence in Britain. On July 5, police in London arrested 29 people in Parliament Square for holding placards stating, „I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action“.
In the video posted on his social media channels on July 5, former Pink Floyd legend Waters says, „For the record, I support Palestine Action“, calling the pressure group „a great organisation“, and sharing his belief that the „non-violent“ group are „absolutely not terrorists in any way.“
Roger Waters from Pink Floyd backs Palestine Action, denounces UK terror label
Waters defended the group’s tactics as peaceful and justified, saying: “They are a nonviolent protest organisation protesting the presence in the UK of Elbit Systems, an Israeli arms manufacturing organisation… I support Palestine Action and I always will because that is the right thing to do.”
Referencing journalist George Monbiot’s call for public defiance, Waters echoed the rallying cry: “This is the ‘I am Spartacus’ moment… Good on everybody who is standing up everywhere and saying, ‘I am Spartacus.’ We will not be rolled over by this appalling Labour government in the United Kingdom.”
The musician concluded with a stark message: “Palestine Action is not a terrorist organisation. They are lying… that’s all I have to say.“

Ja, ich weiß nicht genau, was ich denken soll, auch was ich schreiben soll, was ich im Kabarett überhaupt noch sagen darf …
Adam Driver Praises Francis Ford Coppola For “Not Letting The Money Dictate” ‘Megalopolis’ At AFI Life Achievement Tribute
(April 27, 2025)
Driver continued, “Francis took $120 million and created a singular gesture for what he thought film could be, and I think that’s pretty great. That kind of move has an aftershock that certainly will be felt in his films, will be felt throughout time, and is obviously felt in this room. So, I know you have complicated feelings about awarding Francis, but to echo what everyone else has been saying, you more than deserve this moment. Congratulation on all you’ve achieved, and I’m honored to be here to celebrate you, your generosity and your bravery.”
Now We Know Why You Will Probably Never Get to See One of the Most Misunderstood Movies Ever Made
One of the biggest benefits of not being beholden to a studio and funding a movie yourself, is that you have the final say in what happens to it.
Megalopolis was – even if Coppola would not call it one – a personal passion project that would have never been made if the legendary director had not funded it himself.

With an incredible cast, possibly one of the greatest assembled in the last 20 years, Megalopolis was the vision of Coppola without any outside interference or input.
The US war against the Palestinians, and the struggle to oppose it
WHAT is your view on Trump’s pronouncements on Gaza? How do these reflect on the US’s relationship with Israel and its role in the Middle East?
These declarations by Trump show a barbaric mentality; bringing to the Gaza issue a “cowboy” attitude from the American experience: removing the native people because the white man has decided it.
We need to be clear that this has not really been a war against Hamas for reasons of security but a strategic war, planned in advance, with the goal of displacing and erasing the Palestinian population.

‘Netanyahu, You Need a Revolt’: An Interview with Tamar Gozansky
Recently Haaretz’s weekend edition published a long interview, seven pages in the Hebrew version, with the veteran Communist Party of Israel leading member Tamar Gozansky, a former Hadash MK. She entered the Knesset in July 1990 as a replacement for veteran Hadash MK Tawfik Toubi and retained her seat in the 1992 elections, after which she chaired the Knesset’s joint committee on early childhood. She was reelected in 1996 and again chaired the joint committee on early childhood. Following a third re-election in 1999 she became chairwoman of the committee on the rights of the child and the special committee for school dropout rates.
