In particular, yesterday Sunday, the websites Polsatnews.pl and Wprost.pl reported that mercenaries of the so-called Polish Volunteer Corps fought alongside the Ukrainian forces.
The reports cite Telegram posts by the group and a video purportedly showing gunmen on their way to Belgorod.
Poland has distanced itself from reports that Polish mercenaries had joined militia in leading attacks on territories deep inside Russia. This after several videos of Polish Volunteer Corps crossing the Ukrainian boundary and mocking the Russian regime went viral.
„European weapons are delivered to Ukraine under the condition that they are used on Ukrainian territory with the purpose of defending that territory. And we have strict controls in place to see that this is the case,“ he said.
De Croo declined to comment on possible consequences if the reports were confirmed.
Belgorod’s governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, blamed the attacks on Ukraine’s military, but two anti-Putin paramilitary groups have claimed credit for them. (…)

Im Gebiet Belgorod kommt es seit einiger Zeit immer wieder zu Kämpfen und Angriffen, für die Moskau stets Kiew verantwortlich macht. Es scheint sich bei den aktuellen Angreifern aber wieder um Mitglieder des so genannten „Russischen Freiwilligenkorps“ zu handeln, das zwar aufseiten der Ukrainer kämpft, aber aus russischen Nationalisten besteht.

Three of the Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles, also known as MRAPs, taken into Russia by the fighters were provided by the United States and the fourth was from Poland, according to people familiar with the U.S. intelligence finding, which has not previously been reported.

The Polish Volunteer Corps, a mercenary unit fighting as part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, officially confirmed its participation in the operation in the Belgorod region. They carried out the mission together with Russian mercenaries.
The report from the entry into the territory of the Russian Federation appeared on the official Telegram channel of the corps.
It said more than 70 Ukrainian fighters had been killed and four armoured vehicles and five pick-up trucks destroyed.
„The remnants of the nationalists were pushed back to Ukrainian territory, where they continued to be hit by gunfire until they were completely eliminated,“ the ministry added.
„Today, at 12 noon, Bakhmut was completely taken,“ Prigozhin said in a video in which he appeared in combat fatigues in front of a line of fighters holding Russian flags and Wagner banners. „We completely took the whole city, from house to house.“

12. Crossing of the ceasefire line by civilians, primarily shepherds, was observed on an almost daily basis. On 24 October, United Nations observation post 73 observed 12 IDF soldiers who detained one civilian between the Alpha line and the Israeli technical fence south-east of the observation post and subsequently took him away. IDF informed UNDOF that they released the person within one hour at the same location. On 27 October, position 80 observed two IDF soldiers east of the technical fence returning from the direction of the Alpha line towards the technical fence. UNDOF observed IDF opening the technical fence gate and letting two individuals pass from the Bravo to the Alpha side. Following the evacuation of UNDOF personnel from position 85 on 28 August, UNDOF sporadically observed armed members of the opposition interacting with IDF across the ceasefire line in the vicinity of United Nations position 85.

UN troops monitoring the 1974 ceasefire between Israel and Syria have witnessed interactions between members of the Israeli Defence Forces and the Al Nusra Front who have taken over a large part of the Golan Heights.
Israel‘s military chief of staff condemned an assault on Israeli troops in the West Bank by left-wing activists, including an off-duty soldier.
The incident took place earlier on Friday near the Hebron Mount in the West Bank and saw left-wing Israelis, Palestinians, and one off-duty Israeli soldier clash with and hurl stones at Israeli troops posted at the site.
Israel‘s Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Aviv Kochavi condemned the attack, saying it represented „a very serious incident.“
With defeat looming, Putin is trotting out a new strategy: He will annex Ukrainian territory and then threaten to use nuclear weapons if the Ukrainians and their allies in the West don’t let him get away with it. If the West were to give in to his nuclear blackmail, what would stop him from announcing tomorrow that Kyiv is also Russian territory (which he clearly believes)? Or Tallinn? Or Tbilisi? Or even Warsaw or Helsinki? We cannot live in a world where an evil dictator can redraw international borders at will with threats of nuclear annihilation. And we don’t have to.

Putin’s own words make his true purpose unmistakable. Just before he invaded, Putin asserted — and I quote — Ukraine was “created by Russia” and never had, quote, “real statehood.”
And now we see attacks on schools, railway stations, hospitals, wa- — on centers of Ukrainian history and culture.
In the past, even more horrifying evidence of Russia’s atrocity and war crimes: mass graves uncovered in Izyum; bodies, according to those that excavated those bodies, showing signs of torture.
This war is about extinguishing Ukraine’s right to exist as a state, plain and simple, and Ukraine’s right to exist as a people. Whoever you are, wherever you live, whatever you believe, that should not — that should make your blood run cold.
In a national address on Wednesday, President Vladimir Putin says Russia will be mobilising further troops for the war in Ukraine. He claims the west is using the threat of nuclear weapons to blackmail Russia, and that ‚those who try to blackmail us with nuclear weapons should know that the weathervane can turn and point towards them‘.
Putin also said Russia would give its full support to the referendums announced for this weekend in Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia to join the Russian Federation

A statement from the Swedish Armed Forces said the aircraft, an Antonov An-30, was first located when it was east of Bornholm and flying towards Swedish territory. It briefly violated Swedish airspace before leaving the area.
