Following conversation with the prime ministers of Malaysia and Pakistan, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has thanked the two countries for their cooperation with Tehran.
„I thanked Malaysia for its humanitarian stance and Pakistan for its initiative and effective efforts to reach an agreement,“ Pezeshkian said in a post on X.

Masoud Pezeshkian says Tehran “enters into dialogue with dignity, authority, and the preservation of the nation’s rights”.
“And under no circumstances will it retreat from the legal rights of the people and the country,” the Iranian president wrote on X.
“We will serve the people with logic and with all our might, to the end, and safeguard the interests and honour of Iran.”
In a message addressed to the leader of the world’s Catholics, Pezeshkian stated that the “destructive approach” of the United States and Israel, along with their “illegitimate attacks,” are not directed solely against Iran.
He argued that they are an assault on the rule of law at the global level, international law, human values, and the teachings of divine religions, adding that the costs of this dangerous approach will inevitably be borne by the entire international community.
“Deep historical mistrust in Iran toward U.S. gov conduct remains, while unconstructive & contradictory signals from American officials carry a bitter message; they seek Iran’s surrender. Iranians do not submit to force,” the president wrote.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said the United States is not serious about negotiations with Iran, and that Tehran had no plans to take part in a second round of talks with Washington.
ISLAMABAD – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Dar emphasized the need for dialogue to ensure peace and stability in the region and to resolve ongoing issues swiftly. Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact.
The spokesperson also said that the two discussed a planned telephone conversation between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Iranian president later in the day.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says the Islamic Republic does not seek to expand war as the continuation of conflicts will not be beneficial to any country.
Pezeshkian made the remarks during a visit to Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research and Technology on Sunday as he outlined the latest regional and international developments in light of the unprovoked war waged by the United States and the Israeli regime that began late in February.
He added that problems would not be solved through tensions but it is necessary to pursue wisdom and dialogue and avoid more destruction.
Iranian sources indicated that Pezeshkian called potential agreement with the United States as “not out of reach,” suggesting that Tehran still sees diplomatic space despite ongoing disputes.
The core of Iran’s position remains unchanged, while it is open to negotiations, it insists that talks must be conducted without pressure, coercion, or what it views as unilateral demands from Washington. Iranian officials have repeatedly framed US policy toward Tehran as coercive, particularly in relation to long-standing disagreements over Iran’s nuclear program and regional influence.
President Masoud Pezeshkian says Iran has entered the talks with the United States in Islamabad with „determination and seriousness,“ stressing that the success of the process depends on Washington‘s approach.
He made the remarks during a phone call with his French counterpart, Emanuel Macron, on Saturday, his office said in a statement.
Underlining the importance of the US attitude towards the process to its success, President Pezeshkian reminded how it was Washington‘s previous instances of betraying diplomatic engagements with Tehran by subjecting the Islamic Republic to military aggression that scuttled the negotiations.
“We have the Iranians promising to open the Strait of Hormuz, and we have a negotiation that’s supposed to start this weekend.”

Fars said tanker traffic would come to a “complete stop,” citing what it described as Israeli violations of the ceasefire, including attacks in Lebanon. Israel has said it will continue operations in Lebanon, arguing it was not part of the agreement, a claim disputed by Iran.
The report said two ships were allowed to pass through the strait before Iran reversed course.

The president sought to draw a sharp line between governments and their citizens, stating that the Iranian people harbor no ill will towards Americans. “The Iranian people harbor no enmity toward other nations, including the people of America, Europe, or neighboring countries” he wrote, describing this distinction as “a deeply rooted principle in Iranian culture and collective consciousness—not a temporary political stance.”
Building on this theme, Pezeshkian noted that the perception of Iran as a danger is an invention. He said such a view is “the product of political and economic whims of the powerful—the need to manufacture an enemy in order to justify pressure, maintain military dominance, sustain the arms industry, and control strategic markets.”
“In such an environment, if a threat does not exist, it is invented,” he added.

In comments first reported by state media, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told EU Council president António Costa that Iran has „the necessary will to end this war“ but expects certain guarantees in exchange.
Pezeshkian also said on Monday that any end to the war in the Middle East must „guarantee the security and interests of the Iranian people,“ according to comments first published by the state news agency IRNA and reported by regional media.
Araghchi explained that they have never had a “good experience” negotiating with the US, adding that one time years ago they secured a deal, only for the US to withdraw from it, alluding to the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
“We do not have any faith that negotiations with the US will yield any results. The trust level is at zero”, he said, adding: “We don’t see honesty.”

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued a severe statement mourning the “heartbreaking tragedy” at the Shajareh Tayyebah elementary school. Describing the bombing of the facility while it was “full of innocent pupils” as a “savage act,” the president vowed it would become an indelible part of the aggressors’ history of crimes against Iran. The statement strongly condemned the “inhumane act” and called for immediate, prioritized medical attention for the wounded.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Friday that Iran does not seek war but if Israel and the United States attacked, Iran will stand against them „forcefully“.
