You Are a Suspect

(14. November 2002) Every purchase you make with a credit card, every magazine subscription you buy and medical prescription you fill, every Web site you visit and e-mail you send or receive, every academic grade you receive, every bank deposit you make, every trip you book and every event you attend — all these transactions and communications will go into what the Defense Department describes as “a virtual, centralized grand database.“

To this computerized dossier on your private life from commercial sources, add every piece of information that government has about you — passport application, driver’s license and bridge toll records, judicial and divorce records, complaints from nosy neighbors to the F.B.I., your lifetime paper trail plus the latest hidden camera surveillance — and you have the supersnoop’s dream: a “Total Information Awareness“ about every U.S. citizen.

How the Tech Giants Created What Darpa Couldn’t

(29.5.2018) The William Safire column, „You Are a Suspect,” was published in the Times in 2002—two years before Facebook was created. And Safire isn’t talking about social networks or digital advertising—he’s discussing Total Information Awareness, a US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (Darpa) program that proposed mining vast amounts of Americans’ data to identify potential national security threats. The virtual grand database was to belong to the Department of Defense, which would use it to identify behavior patterns that would help to predict emerging terrorist threats.

Original-Zitat Myers:

„The following five exercise hijack events included a suicide crash into a high-value target.“

13-jähriger Terrorkrieg: Die „Authorization For Use of Military Force“ vom 14.

While President Trump & VP Pence give 9/11 speeches about how much they care about the victims of al-Qaeda’s attack on our country, they are simultaneously acting as protectors of AQ in Syria/Idlib, threatening Russia and Syria that if they attack al-Qaeda, we will punish them.

Oktober 2001.

CIA and Saudi Arabia Conspired To Keep 9/11 Details Secret, New Book Says

“It’s horrible. We still don’t know what happened,” said Ali Soufan, one of the lead FBI counterterrorism agents whom the CIA kept in the dark about the movements of the future Al-Qaeda hijackers. To Soufan and many other former national security officials, the unanswered questions about the events leading up to the September 11, 2001, attacks dwarf those about the assassination of John F. Kennedy, because “9/11 changed the whole world.” It not only led to the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, the fracturing of the Middle East and the global growth of Islamic militantism but also pushed the U.S. closer to being a virtual homeland-security police state.

With echoes of 9/11, pro-government Saudi Twitter account posts image of plane flying towards Toronto skyline

(6.8.2018) The image, shared by the account @infographic_ksa, was accompanied by a message in English that contained the saying “He who interferes with what doesn’t concern him finds what doesn’t please him.” The text “sticking one’s nose where it doesn’t belong!” was also superimposed over the image.

My whole life, we’ve been at war. Let’s stop it now

(11.7.2018) Three days after the attacks, the United States Congress passed the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force that set the stage for the invasion of Afghanistan. I didn’t understand what war really was or what it would mean for the future of our nation.

As it turns out, neither did Congress. Instead of a limited campaign against al-Qaida and the Taliban, the 2001 war authorization became the legal justification used by three very different presidents for U.S. military action across the world. The U.S. Congress, which has been vested by the Constitution with the authority to decide when our nation goes to war, has not voted to authorize any of these military actions.

MSNBC’s Joy Reid: Israel’s Attacks on Gaza Equal to Hundred 9/11s

(6.8.2014) Reid remarked that the 1,800 killed in Gaza are “mostly civilians, including women and hundreds of children.” According to the United Nations, of 1,814 Palestinians killed, 1,312 (or 72%) are civilians. Of those, 408 are children and 214 are women.

After Israeli newspaper Haaretz featured Reid’s comments on its website, the host was attacked with a barrage of messages on Twitter questioning her analogy:

60 Words And A War Without End: The Untold Story Of The Most Dangerous Sentence In U.S. History

(17.1.2014) Written in the frenzied, emotional days after 9/11, the Authorization for the Use of Military Force was intended to give President Bush the ability to retaliate against whoever orchestrated the attacks. But more than 12 years later, this sentence remains the primary legal justification for nearly every covert operation around the world.

New war authorization from Congress unveiled following Syria strikes

„For too long, Congress has given presidents a blank check to wage war. We’ve let the 9/11 and Iraq War authorizations get stretched to justify wars against multiple terrorist groups in over a dozen countries, from Niger to the Philippines,“ Kaine said. „Our proposal finally repeals those authorizations and makes Congress do its job by weighing in on where, when and with who we are at war.“

Will Congress Ever Limit the Forever-Expanding 9/11 War?

(28.10.2017) The law, commonly called the A.U.M.F., on its face provided congressional authorization to use military force only against nations, groups or individuals responsible for the attacks. But while the specific enemy lawmakers were thinking about in September 2001 was the original Al Qaeda and its Taliban host in Afghanistan, three presidents of both parties have since invoked the 9/11 war authority to justify battle against Islamist militants in many other places.
