Over 210 journalists killed in Gaza: RSF and Avaaz call on media worldwide to stage major operation on 1 September

On 25 August, one of these strikes targeted a building in the al-Nasser medical complex in central Gaza, a known workplace for reporters, killing five journalists and staff members of local and international media outlets such as Reuters and the Associated Press. Two weeks earlier, on the night of 10 August, an Israeli strike killed six reporters, including Al Jazeera correspondent Anas al-Sharif, who was the intended target.

According to RSF data, more than 210 journalists have been killed by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip in nearly 23 months of Israeli military operations in the Palestinian territory. At least 56 of them were intentionally targeted by the Israeli army or killed while doing their job. This ongoing massacre of Palestinian journalists requires a large-scale operation highly visible to the general public. With this unprecedented mobilisation planned for 1 September, RSF renews its call for urgent protection for Palestinian media professionals in the Gaza Strip, a demand endorsed by over 200 media outlets and organisations in June. The NGO also calls for foreign press to be granted independent access to the Strip, which Israeli authorities have so far denied.

Far-Right Govt Crack Down on Freedom of Press and Coverage of War Damage in Israel

The move, which targets major international outlets such as Al Jazeera, CNN, France 24 and The New York Times, empowers the police, the Government Press Office (GPO), and the military censor to enforce stricter controls on foreign reporting of war-related damage inside Israel. According to the directive, enforcement will apply regardless of the media outlet for which the footage is being filmed. Police documented themselves obstructing camera views – images which were later aired, suggesting coordination between field officers and intelligence units. The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) has since become involved in enforcement.

The crackdown follows incidents on Tuesday in Beer Sheva, Holon, and Ramat Gan, where police arrived at rocket impact sites, confiscated camera equipment, and confronted journalists broadcasting live footage that appeared on Al Jazeera screens globally.

The enforcement has already reached Haifa. Early Tuesday morning, police knocked on the door of a hotel room overlooking the city’s bay area, where two foreign photographers were staying, and confiscated their equipment. According to police, the action followed a tip that individuals intended to record from a balcony facing Haifa Port.

From reactor to patients

Research reactors are reactors that, instead of generating electricity, are primarily used to produce neutrons for other applications. These neutrons can be used for various purposes, such as to produce 99Mo by irradiating uranium-235 targets.

Being a radioisotope, 99Mo is an unstable atom that undergoes decay. It takes 66 hours for half of any 99Mo produced to decay — this is known as its half-life. The decay product of 99Mo, also called its ‘daughter product’, is 99mTc.

To get 99mTc, the irradiated uranium-235 targets are moved to a processing installation, usually near a research reactor, to separate 99Mo from the other fission products and purify it. The purified 99Mo is then transported to a production facility for 99Mo/99mTc generators — devices used to safely hold, transport and chemically extract 99mTc from 99Mo directly on site at a hospital or other medical facility.

After Israeli journalists Nir Dvori and Suleiman Maswadeh were summoned by police this morning to give open testimony in the ongoing Qatargate probe, Channel 13 reports that a third journalist, Israel Hayom’s political commentator Shirit Avitan Cohen, has also been summoned.

The three are not suspects in the case, and were instead summoned as individuals with knowledge of the events.

Wir haben das Problem, dass in Deutschland die im Grundgesetz vorgesehene Gewaltenteilung durch einen Konsens der „staatstragenden“ Parteien, und deren Gesetzgebungen der letzten Jahrzehnte, systematisch beseitigt wurde. Um eine Chance zu haben, dies zu ändern, muss zuerst die inoffizielle vierte Säule der Gewaltenteilung aktiviert werden. Der Rest folgt dann automatisch. Aber gerade wegen dieser Wichtigkeit für die Kontrolle des Staates, werden sich die politischen Parteien mit allen Mitteln dagegen wehren.

Für jede gebende Hand gibt es eine nehmende Seite. Mehrere Millionen gingen auch an den Spiegel.

Dieser zeigte dann sein wahres, korruptes Gesicht in aller Schäbigkeit: Wo auch immer es Gelegenheit gab für Gates’ weltweiten Impf-Scam zu werben: Die Schwachmaten-Truppe aus Hamburg war ganz vorne mit dabei, sprach u.a. von Geiselhaft durch Ungeimpfte (wer hat wen eingesperrt?) und davon, dass die ganze Republik mit dem Finger auf Corona-Kritiker zeigen möge (ein bis heute ungesühnter Aufruf zur Volksverhetzung).

Jerusalem Post Targets MintPress After Exposé on Israeli Spies in US Media

In December, The Jerusalem Post published an investigation from Nicholas Potter, a “counter-extremism expert,” who falsely accused MintPress News of being part of a network of far-left, foreign government-funded outlets that push conspiracy theories and anti-Semitic extremism. The claims are untrue and are particularly ironic, considering the calls for the extermination and expulsion of Palestinians and Arab peoples the newspaper has published and because Potter is a German national whose job at the Post is directly funded by the German government.

The Jerusalem Post article attacked a series of MintPress investigations published late last year exploring the deep connections between U.S. media, the pro-Israel lobby, and the Israeli intelligence services. In this series, MintPress revealed that hundreds of former Israel lobbyists now work in top jobs in American corporate media, including for MSNBC, Fox News, CNN, and The New York Times. We also showed how former employees of an Israeli spying agency, Unit 8200, are trusted to write America’s news, including about Israel/Palestine – an enormous conflict of interest.

These are part of widespread and systematic abuses committed by Israeli authorities in Gaza, the West Bank, Israel, and elsewhere, as documented or acknowledged by Israeli, Palestinian and international NGOs, UN experts, the International Court of Justice, and in a request for arrest warrants by the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.
