GUIDO IS COMING DOWN AFTER 5 DAYS ON THE BRIDGE

After five days on top of the bridge, Guido is finally coming down.

Through wind, rain, and exhaustion, he stayed up there to sound the alarm about the wars in Iran, Gaza, Lebanon, and Palestine and to remind all of us that silence is not an option.

He risked his life to send a message and now we all have a responsibility to do more.

Thank you, Guido.

Peace Activists to „Welcome Back“ Congress As They Return from Recess as the War on Iran Continues

WASHINGTON, D.C.— CODEPINK and the DC Against Trump Agenda Coalition announced plans to “welcome back” members of Congress on April 14, coinciding with Congress‘s return from recess, to demand an immediate end to the U.S. war on Iran.

The demonstration is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of Independence Avenue SE and New Jersey Avenue SE in Washington, D.C. After the “welcome” reception, participants will flood the halls of Congress with the demands for peace. Activists will have banners that read, “No War on Iran”, “Let Cuba Live”, “Stop Arming Israel”, “Fund Communities Not War” with Palestinian, Cuban, and Lebanese flags.

“Congress has been in recess while the war rages on. It’s shameful but unsurprising,” explained CODEPINK’s Olivia DiNucci.

American Medical Association: Help Release Dr. Husam Abu Safiya!

In December 2024, Dr. Husam Abu Safiya was illegally abducted by the Israeli military after raiding his hospital, Kamal Adwan Hospital. This was one of the last functioning hospitals in Gaza, and Israel made sure to destroy it and kidnap its leadership so Palestinians could not be treated medically. Now, Dr. Husam Abu Safiya is locked away in one of Israel’s most dangerous prisons and is held with no charge.

What happened to Dr. Abu Safiya is a crime against humanity, and we must call on our institutions to speak out against the abuse of their own colleagues. The American Medical Association (AMA) has not done nearly enough to help in the release of their medical professional colleagues.

Send a letter to the AMA Board of Trustees to demand that they help in the release of Dr. Abu Safiya!

Emergency Action at the OAS: Hands Off Venezuela

On Tuesday, January 6, the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a special Permanent Council meeting “to consider recent events in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,” following the kidnapping of Venezuela’s sitting president and escalating U.S. actions inside the country.

We are mobilizing outside OAS headquarters at the exact moment this meeting takes place because the OAS has a long and documented history of providing political cover for U.S. intervention, regime-change operations, and violations of sovereignty in the hemisphere, including in Venezuela.

Flood the Israeli Embassy with Letters Demanding Dr. Abu Safiya’s Release! – CODEPINK – Women for Peace

On February 11, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya’s lawyer confirmed that he is being held in Ofer Prison near Ramallah, where he has been tortured, electrocuted, and denied medical care. The only reason we even have this update is because of international public pressure. Now that we have their attention, we have to keep pushing. Flood the Israeli embassy with letters demanding Dr. Abu Safiya’s release to make it clear that, despite U.S. government support, the American people reject Israel’s genocide and occupation. The facade of Israeli victimhood has crumbled, and we will keep protesting U.S. complicity until Dr. Abu Safiya and every Palestinian in Israeli detention is free.

Send a letter to the DC Israeli Embassy Demanding Dr. Abu Safiya’s Release!

Join Us to Expose and Oppose the US and Israel’s Flouting of International Law

From September 10 to September 30, World BEYOND War, Code Pink, Veterans For Peace, Pax Christi, and other coalition partners will leaflet, demonstrate, and nonviolently act to expose and oppose Israeli and U.S. actions that flout international law. We will gather before both the United States’ U.N. Mission and the Israeli Consulate demanding both nations desist from further massacres, forcible displacement, and the use of starvation and disease as weapons.

Tell the Women of the Senate: Arms Embargo NOW!

During the DNC in Chicago, we made our demand for an arms embargo on Israel clear. Time and time again, we heard politicians — including Sen. Tammy Duckworth who told us back in October that she would continue sending weapons to Israel — posing as advocates for women and reproductive rights while arming Israel. They can’t hide from one undeniable fact: Genocide is not feminist.

Send a letter to the women of the Senate below and tell them: We Need an Arms Embargo on Israel NOW!

100+ Global Rights Groups Urge Support for South Africa‘s Genocide Case Against Israel at ICJ

The letter was released days after South Africa filed its claim, asking the ICJ to declare that Israel has breached its obligations under the Genocide Convention, to which it is a party.

The death toll in Gaza has reached at least 22,313, with at least 57,296 people wounded and thousands feared dead under rubble.

National March on Washington: Free Palestine

Now is the time to stand with the besieged people of Palestine! Gaza is being bombed by the hour. Its people are denied food, water and electricity by Israel. Tens of thousands more people are likely to die. We must ACT! People are in the streets everyday in their local cities and towns. Now we must UNITE!

02.11.2023 - 18:45 [ CodePink / Twitter ]

Biden has requested a whopping $105 billion in supplementary funding to pay for multiple, active and impending wars that Congress was originally voting on. This is on top of the already massive $886 billion war budget.

What‘s everything in Genocide Joe‘s latest request?

First, it‘s important to note the disputes on this. House Republicans want a bill just for Israel, while Democrats say they need it packaged with the other wars (with Russia and China). Both parties agree they want more war.

So, what‘s in Biden‘s request?

To start, $14.3 BILLION for the genocide in Gaza…

Vienna’s International Summit for Peace in Ukraine Issues a Global Call for Action

During the weekend of June 10-11 in Vienna, Austria, over 300 people representing peace organizations from 32 countries came together for the first time since the Russian invasion of Ukraine to demand an end to the fighting. In a formal conference declaration, participants declared, “We are a broad and politically diverse coalition that represents peace movements and civil society. We are firmly united in our belief that war is a crime against humanity and there is no military solution to the current crisis.”

To amplify their call for a ceasefire, Summit participants committed themselves to organizing Global Weeks of Action–protests, street vigils and political lobbying–during the days of September 30-October 8.

After CODEPINK Campaign & pressure from others, Torture Defender Mike Morell Bows Out for CIA. Now, we must ask the tough questions of #AvrilHaines, challenge her nomination & put the #drone program on trial!

Open Letter to President-Elect Biden & U.S. Senate from Torture Victims and their Advocates Opposed to Mike Morell for CIA and Avril Haines for National Intelligence.

(21.12.2020)

Morell has no place in a Biden-Harris administration. His nomination would send a chilling message to torture survivors and other victims of grave injustice that the United States government, including the Biden administration, does not uphold its own stated principles. Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) from the Senate Intelligence Committee has said about Morell: “No torture apologist can be confirmed as CIA director. It’s a nonstarter.” We agree and urge the President-elect not to nominate Morell.

We also oppose Avril Haines, another toture apologist, as Director of National Intelligence. Since she has already been nominated, we ask Senators to oppose her confirmation.
