Germany‘s Merz ‚disillusioned‘ with US and Israel over Iran
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Monday evening that he had become „disillusioned“ with the US and Israel over the war on Iran.

Behörden dürfen ohne Richtervorbehalt auf die Vorratsdaten zugreifen. Mit dem Gesetz gegen digitale Gewalt sollen auch Privatpersonen in Zivilverfahren auf die Vorratsdaten zugreifen.

Besonders alarmierend: Die geplanten Regeln würden sogar erlauben, solche Gesichter-Suchen an private Firmen im Ausland auszulagern. Damit wäre praktisch nicht mehr kontrollierbar, was mit den Daten passiert und bei wem sie letztendlich landen.
Gleichzeitig wird das Ganze mit einer Erlaubnis zur automatisierten Datenanalyse verknüpft, wie sie der US-Konzern Palantir anbietet:

Reacting to the EU’s failure to call for a vote to suspend the EU-Israel Association Agreement or to agree on any other concrete measures today at the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg, Erika Guevara-Rosas, Amnesty International’s Senior Director for Research, Advocacy, Policy and Campaigns said:
“At this point, the EU’s decision to maintain its trade agreement with Israel represents a moral failure and illustrates brazen contempt for civilian lives, particularly in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT) and in Lebanon.
“One million people in Europe, more than 75 NGOs, almost 400 former diplomats, UN experts as well as Belgium, Ireland, Slovenia and Spain have all called for the immediate suspension of the agreement. Once again, these calls have been disregarded with Germany and Italy playing a key role in blocking the suspension.

Nach der Öffnung der Straße von Hormus durch Iran hat Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz von einer „guten Nachricht“ gesprochen. Zugleich forderte er eine dauerhafte und zuverlässige Freigabe der Meerenge.
Durchfahrten müssten „in vollkommener Übereinstimmung mit dem internationalen Seerecht“ möglich sein, sagte Merz in Paris. Es dürfe keinerlei Einschränkungen geben. Die Freigabe der Straße von Hormus gilt laut Iran für die Dauer der Waffenruhe im Libanon, die nach jetzigem Stand am 26. April ausläuft.

Merz schilderte auch, was er Trump in einem Telefonat am Sonntag zu dessen Kritik an ausbleibender Hilfe der Verbündeten gesagt habe: „Ich habe ihm gesagt, wenn du willst, dass wir helfen, dann frag uns bitte vorher, upfront (im Voraus), und nicht über die Zeitungen hinterher. Das ist ein Umgang, den wir einfach nicht akzeptieren können. Das werden wir auch nicht zulassen.“
