Lebanon’s health ministry said an Israeli air strike on the southern city of Tyre on Tuesday killed at least eight people and wounded 32 others, noting the toll was provisional.
The strike was before Israel’s military issued an expulsion order for the entire city and surrounding areas, the National News Agency (NNA) reported.
Hours after the president’s latest optimistic assessment, Israel renewed its military assault in Lebanon, striking the southern city of Tyre and issuing an evacuation warning that for the first time included the port’s Christian quarter.
President Trump says Washington is in the final stages of negotiating an agreement with Iran and believes a deal could be signed within days.
Trump told reporters the accord would prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons and lead to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz “immediately” after signing.

The strike on the Saeed family home in the village of Srifa took place on Wednesday, the first day of a U.S.-Iran ceasefire that many in Lebanon hoped would apply to their country, too. Instead, Israeli strikes killed more than 350 across Lebanon and left the Saeed family with four more relatives to bury.
„They said it was a ceasefire. Like all these people, we went up to the village. We went to the casket to read the prayers and walk home… suddenly we felt like a storm was landing right on us,“ said Nasser Saeed, Aline‘s 64-year-old grandfather, who also survived.

The president called on the international community to take responsibility, halt repeated attacks, and curb the aggressive policies threatening regional security.
This is unprecedented really, perhaps since 1982 and the Israeli invasion of Lebanon back then. There were 100 air strikes in the span of 10 minutes, many targeting areas in Beirut that wouldn’t be traditionally seen as in any way related to Hezbollah.

Israeli air strikes have targeted the cemetery in the Bekaa Valley village of Shmestar, killing at least 10 people and injuring four others who were attending a funeral, Lebanon’s National News Agency reports.
The agency said rescuers and medics are still operating at the scene.
The survey also probed the question of Israeli influence over Trump’s decision-making. Americans were split over the question of Trump’s loyalty, with 47% saying he is more responsive to the American people than to Israel, and 46% saying he is more responsive to Israel.
Among independents, a crucial voting block that swung the election to Trump, half – 50-44% – said that Trump prioritizes Israeli interests over those of Americans. Among Republicans, 17% said the same. Democrats overwhelmingly held that view, 75-17%.
Asked if the Trump administration was pursuing its war with Iran “primarily for American interests” or “primarily for Israeli interest,” the public was also divided, but half – 50-41% – said that he was considering America first. Another 9% said they didn’t know.

Circumstantial evidence in all these invasions lead me to one conclusion: The presidents who launched them all had self-serving political motives to do so. Ronald Reagan was seeking to divert attention from the Iran-Contra affair. George H.W. Bush was trying to divert attention from the savings and loan scandal. Bill Clinton launched attacks on both Afghanistan and Sudan at roughly the same time his sexual relationship with Monica Lewinsky was revealed. And George W. Bush was seeking to enhance his reelection chances in the 2004 presidential race after a politicized Supreme Court had controversially cleared the way for his presidency in 2000.

Graham Platner, who is challenging Republican Sen. Susan Collins, told a crowd Sunday night that Mr. Trump and his wealthy allies — what he calls the “Epstein class” — are sacrificing American lives to protect their political interests.
“This war is also being pushed because Donald Trump is in the Epstein files,” Mr. Platner said after reports of the first U.S. casualties. “They are willing to sacrifice the lives of young American men and women and the lives of Iranian civilians simply to protect their political interests. I cannot think of a more reprehensible act.”
AMY GOODMAN: And finally, Michele, I wanted to ask you about another topic. One month has now passed since Congress’s deadline for the Justice Department to release all files on the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, but the DOJ says it’s made available less than 1% of those files. And you see many people are saying, “Is he going after Minneapolis, saying he’s going to take Greenland, you know, taking the president of Venezuela, and possibly threatening to bomb Iran to take attention away?” Could that be it? You see his sensitivity at the Dearborn auto plant, when a worker yelled “Pedophile protector! Pedophile protector!” and he turned around and gave him the finger and mouthed the words “F— you,” but said the curse.
MICHELE GOODWIN: Well, it’s certainly inconsistent with what were the campaign promises. The campaign promises to those who supported Trump, and those who didn’t, was that the files would be released, all of the files. Now, that’s not happened, so — and that’s critically important.

That coup resulted in fractured relations between Nigeria and Niger, and affected their multinational military operations along the porous border.
The controversial Gaza Humanitarian Fund (GHF) has announced the end of its „mission“ in Gaza.
The GHF began closing its food distribution sites in the enclave last month after the UN was allowed to resume some deliveries in Gaza.
Hundreds of Palestinians were shot dead at sites run by the group, who were backed by the US and Israel and widely condemned by other aid agencies.

To be clear, these words are not written out of cynicism; I truly hold deep appreciation for the organizers of the conference and its many participants. I have no doubt of their good intentions and sincere commitment to changing our horrific reality. Yet as Israel systematically starves people in Gaza’s extermination camp, the Israeli left can no longer remain in its comfort zone.
What good are dialogue workshops, discussions about the sanctity of Jerusalem, interfaith prayers, or panels on political solutions while a genocide rages? These are privileged distractions we can no longer afford. To transform reality, we must first stare directly at its horrors and name them without flinching. If this conference cannot even convene a single panel on Gaza’s genocide, much less demand an end to complicity in it, how can it hope to drive the change it claims to pursue?
