The Democrats who aren’t criticizing John Fetterman

Sen. John Fetterman has faced a tide of public criticism from fellow Democrats as he stakes out lonely ground as a critic of the far-left wing of his party — and another wave rolled in Wednesday after he made a surprise video appearance at the Republican midterm convention.

So far, however, his Senate colleagues haven’t joined the pile-on.

Democratic Sen. John Fetterman appears in surprise video at GOP midterm convention

In the roughly one-minute video introducing McCormick on stage, Fetterman made clear that he is still a Democrat. But took aim at the rise of “socialism” in his own party – a notable and public rebuke to the Democrats’ left flank.

“Yes, I’m a Democrat. Why am I here talking to you today? Because well, I’m a common sense Democrat. I’m always going to stand with America. I’m always going to reject the extremes and socialism and that anti-American way of life,” Fetterman said in the pre-recorded video.

‘Too lazy to do the job’: Democrats dump on Fetterman after WSJ report

Mind-Blowing Real Life of MAGA’s Favorite Dem Exposed

Fetterman’s staff had to inform the veterans, after they arrived in D.C. from rural Pennsylvania in June, that the Democrat could not make their long-awaited meeting to discuss legislation to improve their care because he was not feeling well.

Fetterman told his staff he may have eaten something bad, and his team held the meeting instead. However, less than an hour later, Fetterman walked into his D.C. office looking perfectly healthy for what he considered a more vital appointment: appearing on Donald Trump’s favorite network to discuss the war on Iran and fawn over Israel.

Exclusive – Fetterman gets another potential Democratic challenger

(March 24, 2026)

Former Rep. Susan Wild is the latest Pennsylvania Democrat to consider challenging Sen. John Fetterman in 2028, according to a person familiar with her thinking who told Semafor she’s getting encouraged to run.

It’s the latest sign of Pennsylvania Democrats’ keen interest in ousting Fetterman, who’s increasingly isolated in his party, even within his state delegation. House members from the same state are generally loath to criticize their colleagues, especially in a battleground like Pennsylvania, but frustrations with Fetterman are boiling over a full two years before a possible Senate primary.

8 Senators Break Ranks With Democrats and Advance G.O.P. Plan to End Shutdown

The compromise still needs to win approval in the Senate, pass the G.O.P.-controlled House and be signed by President Trump to bring the shutdown to an end.

Democrat John Fetterman flips U.S. Senate seat in Pennsylvania, beating Republican Mehmet Oz

Fetterman, the state’s lieutenant governor, had been leading in the polls by significant margins over the summer, but television host Oz started to close the gap in recent weeks, particularly after the rocky debate performance by Fetterman.

The lieutenant governor suffered a stroke just before the primary in May and has relied on closed captioning in recent interviews and the debate.

Three presidents descend on Pennsylvania in a major day for one of the nation‘s most closely watched Senate contests

For President Joe Biden, who will hold a rare joint appearance with former President Barack Obama in Philadelphia meant to boost the Democratic candidate Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, Pennsylvania will amount to a political stress test in his home state, where he‘s traveled 20 times since taking office.

For former President Donald Trump, who rallies outside of Pittsburgh in the city of Latrobe, a win by his hand-selected candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz could prove his own enduring viability in a commonwealth he lost by a narrow margin in 2020.
