As the following chart shows, while crime certainly does take place in Washington, violent crime was down 26 percent compared to the same time period in 2024, as property crime fell by 4 percent. The year before (2023-2024), violent crime and property crime dropped by 35 percent and 11 percent, respectively.

US President Joe Biden and Western media pundits echoed Israel‘s disinformation casting doubt on the Palestinian health ministry death toll in Gaza, but Israeli intelligence officials have admitted it is accurate. Ben Norton looks at the evidence.

The World Health Organization says the situation in Gaza is “worsening by the hour,” as Israel’s military lays siege to hospitals and intensifies its assault on areas it previously ordered civilians to flee to. The death toll from the Israeli bombardment is approaching 16,000 — with thousands more believed to be trapped under the rubble.
At least 160 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank since the beginning of the year. (…)
Israeli forces have shot and killed two Palestinian men, including a physician, during a raid on the city of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian health ministry identified the doctor as Abdullah al-Ahmad, in his 40s, and said he was shot in the head by Israeli forces on Friday morning in front of the Jenin public hospital.
CNN‘s Nima Elbagir investigates how many Palestinians detained by Israel, including 80% of those identified by Israel as eligible for release in the recent hostage deal, have not been charged with a crime.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, or OCHA, reported the number on Saturday.
It said more than 710,000 people are sheltering in 149 facilities provided by the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, or UNRWA. More than 120,000 others are in hospitals, churches and public buildings, and more than 100,000 are in 89 non-UNRWA schools.

The United Nations and other international institutions and experts, as well as Palestinian authorities in the West Bank — rivals of Hamas — say the Gaza ministry has long made a good-faith effort to account for the dead under the most difficult conditions.
“The numbers may not be perfectly accurate on a minute-to-minute basis,” said Michael Ryan, of the World Health Organization’s Health Emergencies Program. “But they largely reflect the level of death and injury.”

The credibility of the ministry’s data is significant because there are few other sources of information about the situation in the blockaded region, and because some defenders of Israel’s actions in Gaza claim the ministry overstates the humanitarian toll of Israeli attacks for political reasons.
Most organizations and analysts tracking Gaza do treat the ministry as a reliable source, however, including the United Nations. The State Department has also publicly cited the ministry’s figures, for example in a report published earlier this year on the human rights situation in Israel-Palestine.

In addition to the overall death toll, the number of UN staff members working with the Palestine refugee agency UNRWA, has reached 35, according to the latest situation report released late on Monday. A further 18 staffers have been injured.
At least 40 UNRWA installations have been damaged since the violence began on 7 October.

DFC Intelligence just released its latest global Video Game Consumer Segmentation. This ongoing project breaks out the number of game consumers by country, region, and platform. As of mid 2020, it is estimated that the number of global game consumers is approaching 3.1 billion.
Of course, 3 billion is a massive number, however it only represents about 40% of the world population. Furthermore, by far the fastest growing segment is users that only access devices on smartphones. This accounts for nearly half of all users.

use their best clinical judgement in determining if a COVID–19 infection was likely. However, please note that testing for COVID–19 should be conducted whenever possible.

Am 4. April gab das C.D.C. einen „Leitfaden für die Zertifizierung von Todesfällen aufgrund der Coronavirus-Krankheit 2019 (COVID-19)“ („Guidance for Certifying Deaths Due to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID–19)“) heraus. In diesem heißt es wörtlich:
„In Fällen, in denen eine definitive Diagnose von COVID-19 nicht gestellt werden kann, dies jedoch verdächtigt wird oder wahrscheinlich ist (z.B. wenn die Umstände innerhalb eines vernünftigen Maßes an Sicherheit überzeugend sind), ist es akzeptabel, COVID-19 auf einem Totenschein als „vermutet“ oder „mutmaßlich“ zu melden.“

Wo nahm nun aber das Statistik- und Medienkarussell der „Corona-Toten“ oder gar „vermuteten Corona-Toten“ seinen Anfang, dass der berühmten „mehrheitsfähigen“ Rotte des Homo Sapiens dermaßen den Kopf verdrehte, dass sie sich gleich die ganze Demokratie rausschleudern ließen?
Am 20. März hatte die Weltgesundheitsbehörde W.H.O. einen „Interims-Leitfaden“ herausgegeben. Original-Titel: „Global surveillance for COVID-19 caused by human infection with COVID-19 virus“. In diesem legte die W.H.O. drei Kategorien von Krankheitsfällen fest:
Verdachtsfälle („suspect case“)
vermutete Fälle („probable case“)
bestätigte Fälle („confirmed case“)
Als „Verdachtsfälle“ definierte die W.H.O.. neben vielen anderen hochinteressanten Parametern, u.a. alle Personen mit „akuter Atemwegserkrankung“, die mit „einem bestätigten oder vermuteten Fall“ in Kontakt gewesen waren – bis zu vierzehn Tage vor dem Auftreten von Symptomen.
Und als „vermutete Fälle“ definierte die W.H.O alle Fälle, in denen Testergebnisse nicht schlüssig waren, sowie alle „Verdachtsfälle“ die nicht getestet wurden.
Das kann man schon als genial bezeichnen.
Und dann wies die W.H.O. alle Gesundheitsbehörden weltweit an, „vermutete und bestätigte Fälle“ an sie zu melden.

The world’s population is likely to peak at 9.7 billion in 2064, and then decline to about 8.8 billion by the end of the century, as women get better access to education and contraception, a new study has found.
By 2100, 183 of 195 countries will not have fertility rates required to maintain the current population, with a projected 2.1 births per woman, researchers from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington’s School of Medicine said.
Some 23 countries – including Japan, Thailand, Italy, and Spain – will see populations shrink by more than 50%, researchers said

Lower fertility rates, coupled with increased life expectancies around the world, are creating an aging population. Since 1950, the global median age has grown from 25 years to 33 years.
An older population comes with a number of economic risks, including rising healthcare costs and a smaller global workforce.

Bereits 2001 kam eine Studie von Wolfgang Lutz (International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, Österreich), Warren Sanderson (Departments of Economics and History, State University of New York at Stony Brook, New York) und Sergei Scherbov (University of Groningen, Niederlande) zu dem Ergebnis, dass unter Berücksichtung der vorliegenden erkennbaren Faktoren und verschiedenen Statistiken selbst nach den pessimistischten Einschätzungen die Weltbevölkerung bis zum Ende des 21.Jahrhunderts
– mit einer Wahrscheinlichkeit von 85 % aufgehört hat zu wachsen
– mit einer Wahrscheinlichkeit von 60 % die Marke von 10 Milliarden Menschen nicht überschreiten wird
– und mit einer Wahrscheinlichkeit von 15 % unter der Marke von 2001, nämlich 6 Milliarden Menschen liegen wird.
Die Studie trägt den Namen “Das Ende des Wachstums der Weltbevölkerung” (3, 4).
