WASHINGTON, D.C.â CODEPINK and the DC Against Trump Agenda Coalition announced plans to âwelcome backâ members of Congress on April 14, coinciding with Congress‘s return from recess, to demand an immediate end to the U.S. war on Iran.
The demonstration is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of Independence Avenue SE and New Jersey Avenue SE in Washington, D.C. After the âwelcomeâ reception, participants will flood the halls of Congress with the demands for peace. Activists will have banners that read, âNo War on Iranâ, âLet Cuba Liveâ, âStop Arming Israelâ, âFund Communities Not Warâ with Palestinian, Cuban, and Lebanese flags.
âCongress has been in recess while the war rages on. Itâs shameful but unsurprising,â explained CODEPINKâs Olivia DiNucci.
âItâs a slap in the face of the United States Congress. The president has launched an illegal war when there is no imminent threat. He did not consult with Congress or allow for a debate in Congress, which even George W. Bush did,â Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna of California told CNN on Saturday morning.
Now, House and Senate Democratic leaders â as well as the famously anti-interventionist Republican Rep. Thomas Massie â are demanding that GOP leaders bring Congress back into session immediately to hold a formal vote on the unfolding conflict in Iran.

Polls show the Joint List gaining strength and win 14 to 15 seats in the next Knesset. Wednesdayâs Channel 13 survey sees far-right PM Netanyahuâs Likud party gaining one seat and the Jont List win 15. As with previous surveys, without the Joint List partiesâ support, both blocs fall short of securing the required 61-seat majority to form a ruling coalition
According to another poll, published on Thursday by the Zman Israel website, Joint list of Hadash and three Arab parties would win 14 of the Knessetâs 120 seats if elections were held today, continuing to prevent a parliamentary majority from the Zionist opposition parties.

If the list of candidates headed by the former Labour Party leader, called The Many, clinch the nomination on February 26, Zarah Sultanaâs âparliamentary convenerâ model would not see the light of day.
The Zionist opposition bloc achieves 57 seats, while the coalition bloc has 51, with the Joint List in the middle and the poll indicates that the opposition will not be able to form a government without the support of the Joint List. 48% of opposition voters support a government that would be externally supported by the Joint List. 37% oppose the move, and 15% answered that they do not know.
Hadash MK Ayman Odeh, said Friday during a meeting that âHadash and Arab parties are moving to form a unified joint list to confront the fascist government led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the upcoming elections.â âThese elections are not just about arithmetic. They are a political and ethical battle to prevent the continuation of Netanyahuâs policies and those of his far-right extremist ministers,â added.

„The Joint List could become the second or third largest party in the Knesset in terms of size and representation, forming a parliamentary bloc capable of achieving far more than any small party acting alone,“ he added.
Efforts to re-establish the Joint List have been underway for some time. In August, The Times of Israel reported that party leaders were holding talks aimed at reviving the alliance, amid frustration over Israelâs war on Gaza and a desire to increase the political influence of Palestinian citizens of Israel.
The pledge document, entitled „Joint List Now“, was signed by Sami Abu Shehadeh, head of the National Democratic Assembly (Balad); Ayman Odeh, head of the Hadash alliance; Ahmad Tibi, head of the Arab Movement for Change (Taâal); and Mansour Abbas, head of the United Arab List (Raâam).
The parties first formed the Joint List in 2015 to run on a shared platform representing Palestinian citizens of Israel.
The Central Executive Committee (CEC) will be the team elected by members to lead and run Your Party day-to-day â overseeing staff and resources, guiding our strategy, and putting decisions from the founding conference into action. Following membersâ decision at our founding conference, it will also act as the collective leadership of Your Party, with the Chair, Vice Chair, and Spokesperson in particular serving as the public political leadership.
Our first CEC elections begin in January 2026 and will be open to all verified members, using a one-member-one-vote system with both digital and postal options. Once voting concludes in February 2026, the newly elected CEC will take on the responsibility of steering the party forward. The full timetable is below and the rules for the election here.
Our Founding Conference will be held in Liverpool on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 November.
By mid-October our founding process will have begun in earnest â we have opened our membership portal, are initiating wide democratic debate and will soon publish draft versions of our four core founding documents: our Political Statement, Constitution, Rules, and Organisational Strategy.
We will host mass regional assemblies where thousands of members will come together to listen to each other, debate and revise the founding documents face to face. All members will be able to comment, suggest changes, and track how each document develops.
In November, thousands of in-person founding conference delegates will be chosen by lottery to ensure a fair balance of gender, region, and background. These delegates will have a big responsibility â to debate the founding documents, propose amendments and vote on them at the conference in Liverpool. The final decision will be up to all members through an online, secure, one-member-one-vote system.
Your Party was launched in July 2025 by Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana to found a political party that was an alternative to the status quo and to decades of neoliberalism, austerity and the demonisation of refugees and marginalised communities.
The founding process is being stewarded by the six members of the Independent Alliance. This isnât just another political party. Itâs about doing politics differently â where decisions are shaped by all of us, power is returned to communities, and principles come first.

When it comes to seniors and middle-aged voters, Mamdani is essentially tied with Andrew Cuomo. It‘s a category the former governor desperately needs.
A major finding in Thursday‘s Marist Pollshows Mamdani with a 16-point lead, overall.
The Scandinavian country initiated the UN resolution requesting an advisory opinion from the ICJ on Israelâs obligations, and the court ruled earlier that Israel is obliged under international law to facilitate the delivery of aid to Gaza.
âNorway intends to follow up on this (ICJ) decision with a new resolution at the UN General Assembly,â Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide tells a press conference.
âNo country can place itself above its obligations under international law. This is essential, both for Palestinians and for all other populations living in situations of war and conflict,â he adds.
Hadash-Taâal chairman Ayman Odeh calls on fellow opposition factions to join together to topple Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahuâs government âas soon as possible.â
Addressing reporters ahead of his partyâs weekly faction meeting in the Knesset, Odeh says that the government has three aims during the current parliamentary session, âharming the West BankâŠpromoting the judicial coupâŠand preventing the Arab population from running in the next elections.â
At the end of the meeting, President Abbas renewed his welcome to the visiting delegation and emphasized the importance of meetings in building bridges of trust between the Palestinian and Israeli sides. He expressed hope that this meeting would mark the beginning of a new path, not only in politics, but also in the shared human conscience between the two sides. President Abbas called on the delegation members to form a popular Israeli front for a just peace that would make the voice of reason heard within Israeli society.
There are signs that the authoritarian powers are cracking, the police are struggling to enforce this absurd law, with some police forces outright refusing to make arrests. International and national human rights groups, politicians and United Nations representatives have condemned both the ban and the subsequent attacks on our civil liberties. Unions are declaring that they will not recognise the ban, while over 1600 people were arrested prior to our October 4th action.
We will be holding our signs around the UK in key cities and towns, as well as converging on London for the Judicial Review Itself (25-27 November). Book time off now, and sign the form to tell us where youâll be taking action.
We will not comply with anti-democratic laws. We call on the UK Government to Lift The Ban on Palestine Action and to end UK complicity in Israelâs genocide.

Over 1500 people so far have been arrested at Lift The Ban events for holding signs which read âI oppose genocide â I support Palestine Actionâ. 29 people were arrested at Parliament Square in London on July 5th, the day the ban came into effect. On the following Saturday, 46 arrests at Parliament Square took place for the same act, as well as dozens of actions in other locations across the UK.
On August 9th, over 500 people were arrested in what was reportedly the largest number of arrests for civil disobedience in recent memory. On September 6th, the number was 857 (although not all sitters were arrested on this occasion.) Almost all arrests have take place for allegedly breaching Section 13 of the Terrorism Act 2000, under accusation of supporting a proscribed organisation. All arrestees have been released on bail.
On August 9th, over 500 people were arrested for holding signs which said âI oppose genocide. I support Palestine Actionâ .
Around 1,500 people joined another peaceful sign-holding action on September 6th in London, with 857 arrests.
The next Lift The Ban action will take place on October 4th in Londonâs Trafalgar Square (relocated from Parliament Square).

First let us say that we utterly condemn the attack on the Jewish community in Manchester today.
This is what genuine terrorism looks like and we join with others in condemning it unreservedly.
As we have pointed out in our, sadly unacknowledged and unanswered, letters to Met Commissioner Mark Rowley, it has always been the choice of the Metropolitan Police whether or not to make arrests at our protests. Amnesty International has advised Mark Rowley that these arrests fall foul of international law and our fundamental rights.
As you know we are making two demands of the government: that it reverse the ban on a domestic protest group that poses no risk to the public; and secondly that the government take action in line with its obligations to prevent genocide.
It is unfortunate that the Home Office has not decided to rescind the ban in the wake of the ever-growing defiance and has chosen instead to put an increasing and unnecessary strain on police resources. According to your letter, it appears the political oversight in proscribing Palestine Action, which aimed to save lives in Palestine, is taking away from the police protecting the community from those who seek to take lives.
As Iâm sure you will understand, the protection of our democracy and the prevention of countless deaths are critical issues. Therefore, our protest will go ahead as planned for this Saturday.
We urge you therefore to choose to prioritise protecting the community, rather than arresting those peacefully holding signs in opposition to the absurd and draconian ban of a domestic direct action group.
We hope you make the right choice to not arrest those taking part, and correctly deploy counter-terrorism resources this weekend.
Please understand that some 1,500 people have given deep consideration to committing to this nonviolent action which, as the Met has repeatedly pointed out, comes with serious risks. We hope you respect our fundamental right to peaceful protest and freedom of expression.

Organisers of a pro-Palestine protest planned in central London have insisted it will go ahead despite calls from police and the Home Secretary to delay or cancel.
Protest group Defend Our Juries has organised a demonstration on Saturday in Trafalgar Square, and claimed on Friday: âCancelling peaceful protests lets terror winâ.
