Studie zur deutschen Nahostberichterstattung

Ein Forschungsteam der Freien UniversitĂ€t Berlin hat untersucht, wie HandlungsspielrĂ€ume bei der Berichterstattung ĂŒber den Nahostkonflikt von Medienschaffenden wahrgenommen werden. Diese Studie ist im Oktober 2026 als Arbeitspapier des CeMIL erschienen.

FĂŒr die Studie befragten Prof. Dr. Carola Richter, Dr. Jannis Julien Grimm und Nina Moya Schreieder im Mai und Juni 2026 Journalist:innen, die fĂŒr deutsche Medien zur Nahost-Region und damit verbundenen Themen berichten. Von fast 600 systematisch ausgewĂ€hlten Journalist:innen nahmen rund 30 Prozent an der anonymen Online-Befragung teil – eine vergleichsweise hohe RĂŒcklaufquote. „Offensichtlich gab es ein großes BedĂŒrfnis bei mit dem Thema befassten Journalist:innen, sich zu Ă€ußern“, sagt Prof. Dr. Carola Richter.

Es ging dabei um das Klima nach dem 7. Oktober 2023 – das Datum markiert den Angriff palĂ€stinensischer Gruppen auf israelisches MilitĂ€r und Zivilist*innen mit 1200 Toten und den Beginn von Israels Gaza-Krieg mit inzwischen mindestens 74.000 Toten, darunter 21.000 Kinder.

An der anonymen Online-Befragung beteiligten sich 179 von 597 gezielt angeschriebenen Journalist*innen, 145 davon fĂŒllten den Fragebogen vollstĂ€ndig aus.
