Die „Bild“-Zeitung hatte vor einer Woche berichtet, dass Marsalek in Moskau untergetaucht sei. Demnach soll dieser Aufenthaltsort des früheren Wirecard-Vorstands dem Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND) und dem Bundeskanzleramt bereits seit vergangenem Jahr bekannt gewesen sein. Laut „Bild“ sollen die Münchner Ermittler aber nicht eingeweiht, sondern erst durch die Enthüllungen der Zeitung von Marsaleks Aufenthaltsort erfahren haben.

Einer der beiden Ex-Koordinatoren, der 2018 pensionierte ehemalige Staatssekretär Klaus-Dieter Fritsche, bestätigte, dass er im Ruhestand als bezahlter Berater für Wirecard tätig gewesen ist. Wirecard habe die Kontakte zur Bundesregierung verbessern wollen. Er, Fritsche, habe Konzernvertretern im September 2019 einen Termin mit dem Wirtschaftsberater von Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel vermittelt.

Deshalb gab es immer wieder Zweifel an der Loyalität des Dienstes zur ukrainischen Regierung.

The IG report detailed how the FBI’s application for a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant to spy on Page relied heavily on an unverified dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele on behalf of Fusion GPS, which was conducting opposition research for the Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee. According to Footnote 302, in October 2016, FBI investigators learned that one of Steele’s main sources was linked to the Russian Intelligence Service (RIS), and was rumored to be a former KGB/SVR officer. However, the FBI neglected to include this information in its application, which the FISA court approved that same month. Two months later, investigators learned that Glenn Simpson, the head of Fusion GPS, told a Justice Department attorney that he assessed the same source “was a RIS officer who was central in connecting Trump to Russia.” In January, the FISA warrant was renewed.

Declassified footnotes to a Justice Department inspector general report show that the Federal Bureau of Investigation team investigating members of the Trump campaign received classified reports in 2017 identifying key pieces of the Steele dossier as products of a Russian disinformation campaign. This might be only the tip of the iceberg because other recently declassified information demonstrates that even more disinformation may have been planted in Christopher Steele’s reporting.

Footnote 350 in the IG report addresses the FBI‘s knowledge of Russian contacts with Steele and the potential for disinformation. Steele had „frequent contacts with representatives for multiple Russian oligarchs, we identified reporting the Crossfire Hurricane team received from (redacted) indicating the potential for Russian disinformation influencing Steele‘s election reporting.“
The footnote also indicates that warnings to the FBI‘s Russia probe became more pronounced over time.

The Volkskrant‘s front page report is accompanied by an extensive background story, which contains some more worrying details, but is only available in Dutch.
The cooperation with the Russians dates back to September 2007, when the head of THTC attended a conference in the Russian city of Khabarovsk, at which CIA, FBI, Mossad, BND and other agencies were present. The head of THTC was able to create a connection to the FSB and their deputy head of the department for cyber crime, Sergei Mikhailov, became the liaison for the Dutch police and would regularly visit the Netherlands.

Es gibt schlicht keine Vereinbarungen über eine Verteidigung syrischer „Militärobjekte“ durch die russischen Streitkräfte – also weder so etwas wie einen Verteidigungs-, noch einen Bündnispakt zwischen Syrien und Russland.
Und noch viel „besser“:
Russland weigert sich auch zukünftig einen syrischen Stützpunkt oder gar Syrien insgesamt zu verteidigen, ausdrücklich auch im Falle von neuen U.S.-Luftangriffen. Das bestätigte gestern der Vize vom Auswärtigen Ausschuss des Föderationsrates.
Nur die eigenen Stützpunkte in Syrien, die werde man natürlich verteidigen.
Damit gibt die Russische Föderation Syrien faktisch zum Abschuss frei. Alle aktuellen Warnungen seitens des russischen Generalstabs vor weiteren Angriffen der U.S.A., oder des russischen Präsidenten Wladimir Putin vor (vorhergehenden) neuen Angriffen mit Chemiewaffen, die abermals der syrischen Seite untergejubelt werden könnten, werden so zur Farce.
Der FSB-Chef äußerte diese Warnung auf der 7. Moskauer Konferenz für internationale Sicherheit.
