Trump to invite Zelensky back to White House following Saudi talks

„We‘re going to meet with them (Russia) later on today and tomorrow, and hopefully, we‘ll be able to (work) out a deal. I think the ceasefire is very important,“ Trump said.

When asked if Zelensky would be invited back to the White House, the U.S. president responded, „Sure, absolutely.“

US hostage envoy: Hamas offered to ‚lay down all weapons‘ for five to ten year truce

The US hostage envoy Adam Boehler has said that Hamas has suggested an exchange of prisoners and offered to ‚lay down all weapons‘ during a five to ten year truce, Israel‘s Channel 11 is reporting.

Boehler said that an „optimistic“ scenario would see Israeli captives released within „weeks“.

„We‘re the United States. We‘re not an agent of Israel,“ says hostage envoy

Boehler said he believed something could be achieved on the Israeli captives within weeks, but did not elaborate. He said he believes that a deal can be made in which all of the captives can get out.

US-Hamas meeting very helpful, US envoy Boehler says

Boehler said he understood the consternation and concern expressed by Israeli official Ron Dermer about his direct contact with Hamas, but emphasized he had a clear goal in his talks.
„We‘re the United States. We‘re not an agent of Israel,“ Boehler said. „We have specific interests at play, and we did communicate back and forth.
„What I wanted to do is jump start some negotiations that were in a very fragile place. And I wanted to say to Hamas, what is the end game that you want here?“

Ukrainians must sit down at negotiating table, start talks with President Trump – Vice President Vance

He explained that, in his opinion, the most important thing is not the public statements, such as President Zelenskyy saying he was committed to peace or apologizing to the president. He emphasized that what matters more is what the Ukrainians do to get meaningfully involved in what a peaceful settlement would look like. He stated that they need Ukrainians to come to them privately and say what they need, what they want, and how they will participate in the process of ending the conflict. He concluded that this lack of private participation is what concerns them the most.

“It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing and, Europe, in the meeting they had with Zelenskyy, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the U.S. — Probably not a great statement to have been made in terms of a show of strength against Russia,” Trump added in his post. “What are they thinking?”

Trump and the end of the geopolitical ‘West’

Trump and Vance may delight in shocking Europe, but their counterparts across the pond are coming to terms with the collapse of a united West. “Trump’s rhetoric melds with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin’s,” wrote Le Monde columnist Alain Frachon. “In less than two weeks, concessions to Moscow have piled up. Even if they had already been in the pipeline since Joe Biden’s administration: No Ukraine in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO); no NATO forces to monitor a possible ceasefire; necessary territorial concessions from Kyiv.”

Trump cancels news conference with Zelensky after contentious Oval Office meeting

President Donald Trump on Friday canceled a planned news conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after a contentious meeting in the White House. During the meeting, Trump and Vice President JD Vance accused Zelensky of being insufficiently grateful for U.S. support in the war with Russia. Full argument: Trump-Zelensky White House meeting descends into shouting match

Donald Trump’s Oval Office meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky descended into a shouting match with the US president abruptly ending the conversation and throwing reporters out.

Mr Trump told the Ukrainian president he was “gambling with World War Three” as their meeting became heated.

The Ukrainian president told Mr Trump the rare earth minerals deal being negotiated by the two leaders was not enough for his country.

Mr Trump in turn accused Mr Zelensky of being “very disrespectful”.

JD Vance, the vice president, intervened, asking Mr Zelensky: “have you said thank you once?”

As voices were raised, Mr Trump told the Ukrainian leader that “you have to be thankful”.

“You either make a deal, or we are out,” the president warned.

Mr Trump then abruptly ended the meeting saying he thought it was enough, with the press abruptly ushered out.

The Truth About Project 2025

Project 2025 is a historic movement, brought together by over 100 respected organizations from across the conservative movement, to abolish the Deep State and return government to the people. Project 2025 is not partisan, nor is it secret. Project 2025 does not speak for any candidate or campaign, in any capacity. It was stood up in 2022, before any major candidate announced a campaign, to assist the next conservative president.

We are an open book, with our materials available online.

Project 2025’s policy book is nothing new. Mandate for Leadership has been published regularly since the 1980s. In it, respected conservative authors espouse conservative policy ideas for incoming administrations to consider. Progressive organizations do the same thing. As just one example, the far-left Center for American Progress prepares policy recommendations for liberal presidents, including President Obama in 2008. We will not stop offering ideas to reverse America’s decline. Our aim is to restore American democracy “of, by, and for the people,” not of, by, and for the elites who currently control Washington.

Nach US-Wahl 2024: Was könnte Trump planen?

BOOM! In an interview yesterday on Fox, Trump divulged that the Iranian ‚revenge strikes‘ against the US airbase in northern Iraq 4 years ago were ‚arranged‘ with Iran such that no US troops would be killed, AND that the plan to whack General Soleimani was entirely Netanyahu‘s but that he ‚pulled Israel out‘ of actively participating in the assassination just 2 days beforehand.

Such is modern warfare. It‘s all ‚your proxy force against mine‘, and theatrical ‚force-posturing‘ because, if any real war were to break out between countries with sizable arsenals, the global economy would be wrecked.

Relevant transcript, on Iran telling the US exactly where and when they would strike the US base in northern Iraq:

„I had Iran in check. We hit them very hard [via the assassination of Soleimani], and they had to hit back, I understand that.

Do you know they called me to tell me they‘re going to hit a certain location [at al-Asad airbase], it‘s gonna be outside the perimeter.

They let us know. We had 16 missiles [targeting the base]. They said ‚don‘t move, we‘re going to have to hit you back‘.

Psychologically, they had to do that because we hit them. So they aimed those missiles [outside the base] and said ‚please don‘t attack us, we‘re not gonna hit you‘.“

And, on Israel backing out of the plot:

„When we took out Soleimani, you know, Israel was supposed to do it with us. Two days before the takeout, they said, ‚We can‘t do it, we can‘t do it.‘

I said, ‚What? We can‘t do it?‘

Then I had a certain general, who‘s great, and I said, ‚So, General, do we do it ourselves?‘

He said, ‚We can, sir, it‘s up to you.‘ I said, ‚We‘ll do it.‘

But Israel was a part of it, you know. Bibi [Netanyahu] was a big part of it. And we had everything planned, everything.“

This is Israel’s 9/11. The consequences will be dangerous — and unforeseeable.

It is hard to imagine the Saudi-Israeli peace talks making much progress as Israel reels from the worst surprise attack it has suffered since the 1973 Yom Kippur War — and as it mobilizes for what is likely to be its largest ground assault into the Gaza Strip since Operation Cast Lead in 2008-2009. Indeed, while we don’t know for sure why Hamas chose to strike exactly now, this could well be part of a larger attempt by Iran and its proxies — including Hamas — to prevent a historic reconciliation between Jerusalem and Riyadh.

I believe that despite the enormous odds which exist, unflinching, unswerving, fierce intellectual determination, as citizens, to define the real truth of our lives and our societies is a crucial obligation which devolves upon us all. It is in fact mandatory.

The conflict in Ukraine bears many hallmarks of Surkov‘s work. He even published a short story (under a transparent pseudonym, of course) about the possibilities of what he termed ‚non-linear war‘. In this constructed and stage-managed media landscape, Ukrainian officials and MPs are derided as fascists; the Russian soldiers fighting and dying in Ukraine are actually freedom fighters, defending the creation of ‚Novorossiya‘ – or they are not there at all; and, perhaps worst of all, the whole conflict was actually the result of Western expansion, of US imperialism.

They repeat the great mantras of the era: The president is the president of “stability,” the antithesis to the era of “confusion and twilight” in the 1990s. “Stability”—the word is repeated again and again in a myriad seemingly irrelevant contexts until it echoes and tolls like a great bell and seems to mean everything good; anyone who opposes the president is an enemy of the great God of “stability.” “Effective manager,” a term quarried from Western corporate speak, is transmuted into a term to venerate the president as the most “effective manager” of all. “Effective” becomes the raison d’être for everything: Stalin was an “effective manager” who had to make sacrifices for the sake of being “effective.” The words trickle into the streets: “Our relationship is not effective” lovers tell each other when they break up. “Effective,” “stability”: No one can quite define what they actually mean, and as the city transforms and surges, everyone senses things are the very opposite of stable, and certainly nothing is “effective,” but the way Surkov and his puppets use them the words have taken on a life of their own and act like falling axes over anyone who is in any way disloyal.

Though he’s spent the best part of four decades making television, Curtis’s signature blend of hypnotic archive footage, authoritative voiceover and a seemingly inexhaustible appetite for bizarre historical tangents is better suited to the web, a place just as resistant to the narrative handholding of broadcast TV as he is. He argues that an army of technocrats, complacent radicals and Faustian internet entrepreneurs have conspired to create an unreal world; one whose familiar and often comforting details blind us to its total inauthenticity.
