The Congress on Tuesday deleted its post on X targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he was missing in action during the all-party meet to discuss the Pahalgam terror attack.
The post put up on Monday night led to a row, with the BJP countering it with a ‚backstabber‘ post that accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of colluding with Pakistan.
The State Department has not named Barghouti in public statements, but U.S. officials said they are aware of allegations of abuse. The department said in a statement to The Post that it has informed Israel that it must “thoroughly and transparently investigate credible allegations of and ensure accountability for any abuses or violations.”
Brazil´s President Lula Da Silva has announced his country’s support for South Africa’s case against Israel in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) alleging genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza. The announcement came just hours before the ICJ opens the first session of the hearing in The Hague.
The Republic of Cuba has been a State Party to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide since 1953 and, in accordance with the commitments undertaken therein, has the obligation to prevent and punish genocide.
In this regard, expresses its support for the claim of the Republic of South Africa to initiate proceedings against Israel in the International Court of Justice, in connection with the violations by that country of its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.

By the 1920s, Lemkin was formulating the concepts and laws that were articulated in his best-known book, Axis Rule in Occupied Europe (1944). His unpublished manuscripts reveal that he saw colonialism as an integral part of a world history of genocide.
Those manuscripts covered an extremely wide range of cases where European colonial powers were responsible for mass killing, from the Spanish conquest of the Americas in the sixteenth century and the slaughter of indigenous peoples in Australia and New Zealand to the German massacre of the Hereros in Namibia a few decades earlier.

In August, the respected CATO Institute reported that 62% of Americans acknowledge holding views that many people consider offensive. Among conservatives, that number skyrockets to 77%. With potentially tens of millions of closeted fans, Trump is a pollster’s nightmare. The wife of a pro-Trump buddy of mine detests the 45th president. Yet, when she slams Trump — which is very often — my friend smiles, nods approvingly, and replies, “I hear ya, sweetie,” or, “you sure got that right, honey.” Another guy who does the same thing says, “Happy wife; happy life.”

Belonging to the left means holding a wide-ranging worldview, based on the belief that all humans are born equal, worthy of equal and fair treatment. This is why the left fights for weaker segments of society, for laborers and for migrants. This is why a true left must fight for people who are living under an occupation that deprives them of the most fundamental rights while preventing them from fulfilling their national aspirations of living in a state of their own, alongside Israel.
TAPPER: So when Donald Trump smears people, Democrats all stand up and say, you’re smearing someone. Stop it. Why don’t Democrats do that, to say that about Tulsi Gabbard? It seems like an obvious smear. I don’t see any evidence she’s a Russian asset. It seems like a wild accusation.
BUTTIGIEG: Yes, I think statements like that ought to be backed by evidence.
Labour, the Lib Dems, the SNP and Plaid Cymru say they will vote against the government or abstain in Monday‘s vote on whether to hold a snap poll.
As Labour MPs chickened out of voting for an election, some of their ranks were less subtle in their u-turning, from having called for an election for years.
Marr Rodda – MP for Reading East – embarrassingly called for Boris to hold a general election, only to vote against an election 80 minutes later.
Bernard Jenkins said: “Is there some way of tabling a motion that this house has no confidence in Her Majesty’s Opposition?”
This prompted the Commons to erupt in laughter, even making Commons Speaker John Bercow smile.
Boris Johnson added: “It‘s the first time in history the Opposition has shown confidence in the Government.“
Thornberry said she would prefer a later date than 15 October. “I personally think that we need to have a general election when we’re going to win it. I’ll wait a couple of weeks. If we can give them a little bit of extra rope … just let them be in power for a few more weeks then people can really see how bad they are,” she told Sky News.

(1.2.2019) Insisting once again that Iran is complying with the 2015 nuclear deal, the head of the U.N.’s nuclear watchdog complained this week that attempts – he didn’t say by whom – to pressure the agency on inspections were “counter-productive and extremely harmful.”
The Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt was interviewed by Andrew Marr, who asked about the difficulties ahead:
