(21.3.2019) Seit 2001 sind Bundeswehrsoldaten in Afghanistan stationiert. Nun hat der Bundestag entschieden, dass sie ein weiteres Jahr bleiben. Eine Mehrheit stimmte dafür, das bestehende Mandat praktisch unverändert fortzuführen.
Andererseits ist es einer der – nach meiner begrenzten Kenntnis – sehr selten Fälle, in denen militärische Führung erklärt, dass sie bestimmte grundlegende Informationen aus ihrem Verantwortungsbereich schlicht nicht braucht. Es scheint also auch mit weniger zu gehen. Das wäre mal eine interessante Frage an den Stabschef von Resolute Support, der müsste das ja erklären können. Und ist übrigens von der Bundeswehr, derzeit Generalleutnant Andreas Marlow.

Questions are being raised about how much President Maithripala Sirisena knew about warnings provided by foreign intelligence agencies ahead of the Easter Sunday bombings that left at least 253 people dead and injured more than 450.
State Intelligence Service (SIS) Director Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Nilantha Jayawardena provided detailed reports to the President on at least three occasions, authoritative and multiple sources with close knowledge of the inner workings of the Defence establishment confirmed to Daily FT.

Former Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein condemned the Trump administration’s policy in Venezuela on her Twitter account, saying that the current crisis was caused by the US attempt to change the regime in yet another country as well as its “greed” for the natural resources of Venezuela.
