Baalbek-Al-Hermel Governor Bashir Al-Khodr confirmed that rescuers pulled 12 bodies from the rubble, all for paramedics, after an Israeli airstrike hit a civil defense center in Baalbek, where over 20 people were sheltering.
The Lebanese Health Ministry reported that an airstrike on the Shaab neighborhood in Baalbek killed eight people, including five women, and left 27 others wounded.
The ministry added that four other people were killed in attacks on several locations in eastern Lebanon.
The death toll from Israel‘s strike on Baalbek, eastern Lebanon has risen to 15 civil defence members, Baalbek governor Bachir Khodr said on X.
Khodr adds that 10 bodies were identified, while the remaining five were recovered in pieces, requiring DNA testing.
„Mercy to the heroic martyrs and patience to their families,“ he said.

Israel’s parliament has voted to ban a nearly eight-decade-old United Nations agency that provides essential services for Palestinian refugees, a move that could have devastating consequences for millions of Palestinians living under Israeli occupation.
On Monday, the Knesset passed two bills; one barring UNRWA from activity within Israel, and another banning Israeli authorities from any contact with UNRWA – revoking the 1967 treaty that allows UNRWA to provide services to Palestinian refugees in areas under Israel’s control.
Local sources reported that Israeli warplanes carried out intense bombing raids on Beit Lahiya, completely destroying a residential complex while civilians were inside, resulting in at least 73 fatalities and numerous injuries.
Many individuals are still trapped under the rubble, with rescue teams unable to reach them.
Additionally, Israeli quadcopter drones fired on tents housing displaced families in the courtyard of Al-Awda Hospital and directly targeted an ambulance.
People were forced to evacuate to that area due to the scale and the intensity of the massive Israeli bombardment that was taking place in the more central and eastern parts, particularly in Jabalia.
So, many people were forced into that area, and as soon as they gathered, they got bombed and killed in the places they were seeking shelter.
The confirmed reports we got say multiple air strikes took place targeting an entire residential block in western Beit Lahiya cit – very packed with people, the local residents as well as those who evacuated earlier.
The attack was so massive that it shook the entire western part of Beit Lahiya.

Despite their reportedly tireless efforts to negotiate with the terrorists, the Biden-Harris administration has privately conceded that a ceasefire deal won‘t happen before the end of Biden‘s term in January 2025. „No deal is imminent,“ a Biden-Harris official told the Wall Street Journal. „I‘m not sure it ever gets done.“
Al Jazeera has obtained video showing an Israeli military drone killing a wounded and immobile Palestinian man in Gaza by dropping an explosive on him.
The footage shows three Israeli soldiers standing on the roof of a building, throwing the bodies of the three Palestinians, one by one, from the rooftop.
“Netanyahu‘s insistence to free prisoners through military pressure, instead of sealing a deal, means they will be returned to their families in shrouds. Their families must choose whether they want them dead or alive,” he said
On Sunday, the Israeli military reported the recovery of the bodies of six hostages from a tunnel in the southern Gaza city of Rafah, claiming that Hamas was responsible for their deaths. Obaida said his group holds Israel responsible for the deaths.
He said the new instructions, which he did not detail, were given to guards of hostages after a rescue operation by Israel in June.
“The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) has been operating since tonight with great force in the refugee camps of Jenin and Tul Karm to thwart Islamic-Iranian terror infrastructures installed there,” Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said in a post on X.
Mahmoud Basal, a spokesman for Palestinian Civil Defense, an emergency services organization, said some of the bodies found in Khan Younis were handcuffed, shot in the head or wearing detainee uniforms. The US has approved a potential Israeli Rafah operation in exchange for the Jewish state not conducting counterstrikes on Iran, according to a Thursday report from the Qatari newspaper The New Arab.
A senior official told The New Arab that „Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu managed to obtain American approval for a military operation in Rafah, in exchange for [Israel] refraining from carrying out a wide military operation against Iran in response to its recent attack.“

The charity said that Israeli forces had made these demands on Saturday via a drone speaker as it launched smoke bombs to encourage staff to leave the facility.
It added that one of the injured Palestinians left in al-Amal hospital was also shot dead by Israeli forces.
Israeli jets on Sunday launched several strikes near the Shifa Hospital, which largely stopped functioning following the November raid. After claiming that Hamas maintained an elaborate command center there, Israeli forces months ago exposed a single tunnel leading to a few underground rooms.
Hardly any aid has been delivered in recent weeks to northern Gaza and Gaza City, where Shifa is located.
In a post on social media platform X, Philippe Lazzarini said Israeli authorities informed the UN of the decision, which he called „outrageous“.
„As of today, Unrwa, the main lifeline for Palestine Refugees, is denied from providing lifesaving assistance to northern Gaza,“ Lazzarini said.
„At least nine martyrs and dozens injured by Israeli occupation army tank fire and shells. They were waiting for aid trucks at the Kuwait roundabout“ on the outskirts of Gaza City, a health ministry statement said.
Israel‘s military said it was looking into the report.
In addition to publicly warning on March 7 about a possible attack, U.S. officials said they had privately told Russian officials about the intelligence pointing to an impending attack. It is not clear how much information the United States gave Russian officials beyond what was in the public warning.
