Israeli think tank lays out a blueprint for the complete ethnic cleansing of Gaza

On October 17, the Misgav Institute for National Security & Zionist Strategy published a position paper advocating for the “relocation and final settlement of the entire Gaza population.” The report advocates exploiting the current moment to accomplish a long-held Zionist goal of moving Palestinians off the land of historic Palestine. The report’s subtitle makes it clear: “There is at the moment a unique and rare opportunity to evacuate the whole Gaza Strip in coordination with the Egyptian government.”

The Misgav Institute is headed by former Netanyahu National Security Advisor Meir Ben Shabbat, who remains influential in Israeli security circles. The Institute’s former chairpersons and founding associates include Yoaz Hendel (chair 2012-19), a right-centrist who was Minister of Communications intermittently in the years 2020-22; Moshe Yaalon, former Defense Minister (note that both Hendel and Yaalon have become opposed to Netanyahu in the recent years); Moshe Arens, also former Defense Minister — and other top political personas.

Nova Kakhova Dam Breach – Updated (12:15 UTC)

In consequence the huge reservoir behind the dam is now flooding lower level land south of Kherson (Xepcoh). The pictures show the before and after of potential flooding due to the breach:

Previously the Russian army had pulled back its troops from the northern part of Kherson oblast because a dam breach would endanger their supply route.

We do not know yet how much of the dam has been damaged. How much water will be flowing out of it depends on the part of the wall that is still standing below the current water level.

Of note is that the Ukraine had previously filled the upstream dams on the Dnieper to the brim to increase the potential damage. Those waters were released in early May.

The Ukrainians, he said, even conducted a test strike with a HIMARS launcher on one of the floodgates at the Nova Kakhovka dam, making three holes in the metal to see if the Dnieper’s water could be raised enough to stymie Russian crossings but not flood nearby villages.

The test was a success, Kovalchuk said, but the step remained a last resort. He held off.

Wer solche Künstler hat, braucht keine Mitläufer mehr

Man hätte diese Liste der „braven“ Künstler laut dem Artikel noch erheblich verlängern können: Unter dem Stichwort #impfenschuetzt hatten einige Veranstalter und Künstler dafür geworben, sich impfen zu lassen – mit dabei waren Bands wie Die Toten Hosen, Beatsteaks, Tocotronic, Element of Crime, Isolation Berlin und Silbermond, die mit der Beteiligung an der Kampagne auch die durch die Corona-Politik und die aggressive Impfkampagne hervorgerufenen gesellschaftlichen Verwerfungen indirekt gerechtfertigt haben.

Auch die Band Die Ärzte gliederte sich auf ihrer Webseite voll in die dominante offizielle Darstellung ein: In einer Band-Mitteilung sollte wohl eine Schockwirkung mit Formulierungen wie „qualvollem Ersticken“ erzielt werden, die „Zukunft der Kultur“ wurde vom Impf-Fortschritt abhängig gemacht, ebenso war das Impfen laut „Die Ärzte“ (ganz Regierungslinie) Voraussetzung für „normale Bedingungen“ und dafür, dass „das Leben weitergeht“.

CENTCOM conducts three helicopter raids in Syria and detains six ISIS operatives

U.S. forces conducted three helicopter raids in eastern Syria that resulted in the detention of six Islamic State operatives, according to a Tuesday statement from U.S. Central Command.

The three raids occurred “over the last 48 hours,” and one of the ISIS fighters detained was identified as al Zubaydi, whom CENTCOM described as “an Islamic State Syria Province Senior Official involved in the planning and facilitation of ISIS attacks in Syria.”

US and Syrian allies capture five ISIS operatives in six raids this week

The two allied forces resumed operations on Dec. 8, and since then, they „have conducted six partnered operations, resulting in the detention of five ISIS operatives involved in planning attacks on detention facilities holding ISIS fighters and on the Al Hol camp,“ Col. Joe Buccino, a spokesman for CENTCOM, said in a statement referring to the Syrian refugee camp.

The Syrian Democratic Forces thwarted a suicide bombing attempt at the camp in late September, though four ISIS fighters were killed in the incident. Weeks earlier, the SDF arrested “dozens of ISIS operatives” while conducting security operations at the refugee camp, and a CENTCOM spokesperson said at the time that the arrests led to the “dissolution of a major ISIS facilitation network both within the camp and throughout Syria.”
