In seiner Karriere sei ihm immer bewusst gewesen, »wie wichtig es ist, große und unbequeme Wahrheiten zu enthüllen und Amerika zu mehr Wissen zu verhelfen«. Ohne Zweifel hat Seymour Hersh das erreicht, und er hat nicht nur den USA zu mehr Wissen verholfen, sondern den Menschen weltweit.

Dissent tolerated when I joined a national newspaper in Britain in the 1960s has regressed to a metaphoric underground as liberal capitalism moves towards a form of corporate dictatorship. This is a seismic shift, with journalists policing the new „groupthink“, as Parry called it, dispensing its myths and distractions, pursuing its enemies.

Hedges says, „We are sodden with fake news, hyped-up and incomplete information and false assertions delivered non-stop by our daily newspapers, our televisions, our online news agencies, our social media and our president.“
