Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Sunday appeared to dismiss criticisms of the government‘s intelligence services in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack and stated that no country had foolproof intelligence, citing an example of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

#Shashi Tharoor said there are operations that are successful but we only get to know about the terror attacks that the agencies failed to thwart.

Danach gab das Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge (BAMF) von 2014 bis Anfang 2019 rund 5000 Hinweise auf „Straftaten nach dem Völkerrecht“ an das Bundeskriminalamt und den Generalbundesanwalt weiter. Von anderen Stellen seien 200 Hinweise gekommen. Doch nur in 129 Fällen seien Ermittlungen aufgenommen worden. In den Jahren 2015/16, also auf dem Höhepunkt des Flüchtlingszuzugs, gab es dem Bericht zufolge 3800 Hinweise, es kam jedoch nur zu 28 Ermittlungen.

„Die große Zahl der Hinweise hat es nicht zugelassen, allen zum Beispiel durch polizeiliche Vernehmungen unmittelbar nachzugehen“, sagte ein Sprecher des Bundesinnenministeriums zu „Bild“.

Denn die Besatzung der „Hessen“ sei nach Sichtung der unbekannten Drohne mit Mitgliedern von „Prosperity Guardian“ in Kontakt gewesen. Doch auch diese wussten nicht Bescheid vom Einsatz des Flugobjekts. Diese sei vermutlich für eine andere US-Mission in der Region unterwegs gewesen.

UPDATED: German navy almost shot down US drone in Red Sea- Reports

The „Hesse“ frigate opened fire after efforts to identify an unknown drone „were unsuccessful“, Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said during a visit to the German town of Oberviechtach, adding however that the target was „not hit“.

The drone later turned out to be a „reconnaissance drone“, he said.
