Commenting on Russia’s decision to expedite S-400 deliveries to Turkey, the Russian leader stressed it had been done „at the request of our Turkish partners and friends.“
„Naturally, we discussed cooperation between Russian and Turkey in the military technical sphere, in particular, the implementation of the contract for supplies of S-400 Triumf missile systems to Turkey. We have decided to expedite deliveries if these highly efficient Russian-made defense systems,“ Putin said.

McKenzie noted that the Russian owned and operated S-300V4 and S-400 systems stationed in Syria did not attempt to engage the incoming cruise missiles. “In the attack on Friday night, Russian air defenses were energized,” McKenzie said. “They were scanning, they had a [Beriev A-50] Mainstay air defense aircraft up. They did not choose to engage, so I can‘t speculate about why they did or didn‘t do that.”
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukraine “attempted to conduct a terrorist strike on the Crimean Bridge using a guided air-defense S-200 missile converted into a strike version” around 1pm Moscow time on August 12.
„As of 18:00, five dead and 15 wounded were reported. Seven people, including one child, might probably remain under the rubble,“ he said on the Telegram channel on Friday.
The enemy attacked the town at around 16:00. According to preliminary information, the town was shelled by S-300 missiles.

(14.6.2018) “Besides [the S-400s], I have made a proposal to Russia for the joint production of the S-500s,” Erdoğan said in a televised interview late June 13.
The S-500s are still under development and believed to be deployed by 2020 as a supplement but with a longer range to the existing S-400s sophisticated surface-to-air missiles. Turkey will procure the S-400s to augment its air defense by July 2019.
In reaction to some countries’ opposition against the Turkish purchasing of S-400s, Erdoğan recalled that Greece has an earlier version of Russian air defense systems, the S-300s, on its soils.

Russia and Qatar have been in discussions about a possible sale of S-400 missile systems to Doha, TASS news agency cited the Russian envoy to Qatar as saying on Saturday.
The comments, by Vladimir Kozhin, an aide to President Vladimir Putin who oversees Russian military assistance to other countries, follow a visit to Moscow by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this week, who has been lobbying Putin hard not to transfer the missiles.
(27.April) The S-300PMU-2 ‘Favorite’ is an export version of the Russian S-300 missile defense system. It has the range of 195 km and uses the 48N6E2 missile. This missile can be used against aircraft, cruise missiles, UAVs, theater ballistic missiles, even against intercontinental ballistic missiles.
According to the newspaper’s sources, the air defense systems deliveries will be made free of charge. The alleged goal of the effort is to assist the Syrian military in establishing a multi-layered air defense across the country.
