May to ask EU for Brexit delay TODAY: PM requests ‚long‘ extension to Article 50 to prevent No Deal next week in letter to Tusk – but wants get-out clause to go on May 22 if she can do deal with Corbyn
– Theresa May will write to EU Council President Donald Tusk to request extension to Article 50 beyond April 12
– Prime Minister wants ‚termination clause‘ to leave EU on May 22, day before European elections if deal passes
– AG Geoffrey Cox we need to use ‚any means to secure an ends‘ and cross-party talks are vital for securing deal
In view of the rejection of the Withdrawal Agreement by the House of Commons, I have decided to call a European Council on 10 April. #Brexit
Brexit: What just happened?
– A shorter delay until 12 April if they reject it. By that time the UK must set out its next steps – either another extension or leaving without a deal
But the EU says a further extension beyond 12 April is only possible if the UK agrees to hold European elections on 23 May.
According to European Commission President Juncker, with European Council President Tusk at his side, „all options remain on the table … the UK government will still have a chance of a deal, no deal, a long extension or revoking Article 50“. Or of course a People‘s Vote!

Theresa May Brexit letter IN FULL: Read Brexit letter to Donald Tusk in FULL here
THERESA MAY has asked the EU for a three-month delay to Brexit in the hopes of finding a way to get her deal through Parliament. Read the full letter she sent to European Council President Donald Tusk below.
„A long extension“ It‘s obvious what game is being played here. The EU (aided by many within the UK establishment) is doing its damnedest to subvert the referendum result. If we don‘t leave on 29 March, our democracy may not recover for a very long time.
Go to hell, Donald Tusk
Tusk’s insistence that Brexiteers are headed for hell sums up the Brussels oligarchy’s elitism.
Donald Tusk not only unfairly attacked Brexiteers yesterday, but reminded us the EU is anti-democratic
There’s no way that this was an off the cuff intervention from Tusk. It was clearly planned. If you watch him making the remarks on our video, you can see him referring to written notes while he said it. And he then happily tweeted the words out afterwards – prompting an equally inappropriate response from MEP Guy Verhofstadt.
And then to rub salt into the wound, at the end of the press conference, Varadkar is caught saying: “They’ll give you terrible trouble in the British press for that”, to which Tusk replies: “Yes, I know” and laughs.
Julia: „I‘m not angry with Donald Tusk. I want to thank him. Thank you for reminding me and 17.4 million others why we wanted to leave your corrupt, arrogant little club.“
Brexit: Donald Tusk‘s planned outburst
Certainly, Theresa May‘s most pressing job is to put something that could work on the table in Belfast, and in Brussels, and to do it fast.
Britain‘s EU referendum was „dangerous, even stupid“ says @eucopresident Donald Tusk – claiming David Cameron only promised it because he thought there was „no risk“ of it actually happening
