Lawmakers vote 71-13 in favor of non-binding motion calling for West Bank annexation
“The land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel,” declares Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana following the vote, adding that “Jews cannot be the occupiers” of their own ancestral homeland.
“This is our land. This is our home. The Land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel. In 1967, the occupation did not begin; it ended, and our homeland was returned to its rightful owners. We are the original first natives of this piece of land. Jews cannot be the ‘occupier’ of a land that for 3,000 years has been called Judea,” says Ohana.

As mass starvation spreads across Gaza, our colleagues and those we serve are wasting away – More than 100 organizations are sounding the alarm to allow in life-saving aid.
Governments must stop waiting for permission to act. We cannot continue to hope that
current arrangements will work. It is time to take decisive action: demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire; lift all bureaucratic and administrative restrictions; open all land crossings; ensure access to everyone in all of Gaza; reject military-controlled distribution models; restore a principled, UN-led humanitarian response and continue to fund principled and impartial humanitarian organisations. States must pursue concrete measures to end the siege, such as halting the transfer of weapons and ammunition.
Piecemeal arrangements and symbolic gestures, like airdrops or flawed aid deals, serve as a smokescreen for inaction. They cannot replace states’ legal and moral obligations to protect Palestinian civilians and ensure meaningful access at scale. States can and must save lives before there are none left to save.

More than 100 aid, rights groups call for action as hunger spreads in Gaza
The organizations called for governments to demand that all bureaucratic and administrative restrictions be lifted, all land crossings be opened, access to everyone across Gaza to be ensured and for the rejection of military-controlled distribution and a restoration of a „principled, UN-led humanitarian response.“

Western governments’ ’empty words’ against Israel ‘simply not good enough’
Hilton said the Western governments’ “empty words” of condemnation of Israel’s actions are “simply not good enough”.
“Without actual material action, without holding Israel accountable, they will continue to be complicit in this genocide and starvation of Palestinians in Gaza.”
She continued: “The only hope I have at this time is how much the public seems to be completely outraged by what Israel is doing and continues to speak up, despite the complicity of our governments in the West to aid and abet the genocide.”
Former UN aid chief: Israel committing ‘worst crime of the 21st century’ in Gaza
“There can frankly be very little doubt that we are seeing starvation and hunger as an instrument of the war,” he told MEE.
“There is no prior experience in my five decades of humanitarian experience that can come close to comparison to the horror we are all seeing in Gaza,” he said.
“The UN announcement, based on serious hospital data, that people are fainting in the street from hunger and malnutrition, tells us all we need to know.
“It is a historic fact that children die first in these circumstances. Our humanity cannot believe our eyes.”
Israel’s siege on Gaza since 2 March has blocked the entry of humanitarian supplies by the UN and its partner organisations to the enclave, bringing the 2.1 million population to the brink of famine.
Gaza hospitals report 10 more deaths from famine, bringing total to 111
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said on Wednesday that 10 more Palestinians have died over the past 24 hours due to famine and severe malnutrition, as Israel’s blockade continues to choke humanitarian access.
The latest fatalities bring the total number of deaths linked to hunger and undernourishment in Gaza to 111, according to the health ministry.
Gaza death toll reaches 59,219 since start of Israeli aggression in October 2023 – Medical sources
GAZA, June 26, 2025 (WAFA) – The death toll in the Gaza Strip has reached 59,219, the majority of whom were women and children, since the beginning of the Israeli aggression in October 2023. At least 143,045 others have also been injured.
Medical sources confirmed that of the total casualties, 8,363 civilians have been killed and 31,004 have been injured since March 18, 2025, when the Israeli occupation resumed its aggression on the Gaza Strip after breaking the ceasefire agreement.
Sources stated that 113 bodies, including 13 bodies that were covered from under rubble, and 534 injured individuals were brought to hospitals in Gaza during the past 24 hours.

Israeli attacks kill 113 Palestinians and wound over 500 in Gaza in 24 hours
The Palestinian Ministry of Health is reporting that Israeli attacks have killed 113 and wounded 534 in the last 24 hours. Thirteen of the dead were recovered from beneath rubble after buildings were destroyed by Israeli strikes.

1966 gründete Bertrand Russell angesichts der Kriegsverbrechen des u.s-amerikanischen Militärs im Vietnamkrieg das Russell-Tribunal. In 2014 tagte die traditionsreiche Institution über die israelischen Kriegsverbrechen im Feldzug gegen den Gazastreifen in diesem Sommer. Referenten des Russell-Tribunals, neben Juroren wie Roger Waters: David Sheen (Israel) und Max Blumenthal (U.S.A.). Am 9., 10. und 11. November wollten David und Max auf Veranstaltungen in Berlin über das Russell-Tribunal und dessen Ergebnisse berichten.
Die Veranstaltung am 9. November sagte die Volksbühne, nach einem Brief von Volker Beck (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen, Vorsitzender der deutsch-israelischen Parlamentariergruppe), Petra Pau (Die Linke) und dem ehemaligen Wehrbeauftragten Reinhold Robbe (SPD, Vorsitzender der deutsch-israelischen Gesellschaft e.V.), am Vorabend der Veranstaltung wieder ab – offenbar unter direkter Intervention von Gregor Gysi, Fraktionsführer von Die Linke im Bundestag. Auf der kurzfristig verlegten Veranstaltung berichteten sowohl David Sheen, als auch Max Blumenthal, von einem gefährlichen Rechtsruck in der israelischen Gesellschaft, in der Rassismus, Verfolgung gegen Andersdenkende und Andersgläubige, sowie Linke und Dissidenten, mittlerweile salonfähig genauso geworden sind wie Demonstrationen gegen interreligiöse Heirat. Diese Entwicklung reicht bereits bis hin zu Forderungen nach „Konzentration“ und „Auslöschung“ aufständischer Palästinenser, erhoben durch den Parlamentspräsidenten Moshe Feiglin, und der Beschimpfung afrikanischer Flüchtlinge als „Krebs“ der Gesellschaft durch die heutige Vorsitzende des Innenausschusses der Knesset, Miri Regev.
Sowohl David Sheen, als auch Max Blumenthal, zeigten sich äußerst irritiert darüber, dass ihnen zuvor durch deutsche Politiker, Volker Beck, Petra Pau, Reinhold Robbe, im Brief an die Volksbühne unterstellt worden war, sie würden durch diese Berichte
„antisemitische Ressentiments bedienen und die Terrorherrschaft der Nazis durch Vergleiche mit der israelischen Regierung relativieren.“

The fact that Germany is not among the signatories, which include 20 European Union member states as well as the EU itself, has caused speculation, in light of past reticence on the part of Berlin to condemn Israel‘s actions in Gaza.
When asked why Germany wasn‘t backing the statement signed by foreign ministers on Monday on the initiative of the United Kingdom, Merz pointed to a previously adopted declaration by the European Council.

We have just heard that in the last day 19 people, including at least one infant, have died of starvation in Gaza. Can you talk about why this is happening?
ALEX DE WAAL: So, let me say that I’ve been working on this field of famine, food crisis and humanitarian action for more than 40 years, and there is no case, over those four decades, of such minutely engineered, closely monitored, precisely designed mass starvation of a population as is happening in Gaza today.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed „shock at the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Gaza, where the last means of livelihood that keep people alive are collapsing,“ Stéphane Dujarric, spokesman for the Secretary-General, said in a statement, while 33 people have died of hunger in the last 48 hours. Guterres deplores the increasing reports of children and adults suffering from malnutrition, the spokesman continued in a statement.
Fifteen more Palestinians die from starvation amid Israeli-imposed famine
Fifteen Palestinians died from malnutrition under an Israeli-imposed famine in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours, the Palestinian health ministry said on Tuesday.
Four of them were children, including three identified as the infant Yousef al-Safadi, Abd al-Jawad al-Ghalban, 16, and Ahmad Hasanat.
One of the adults was identified as 32-year-old woman with special needs, Raheel Rosros.

Parliamentarians call for an embargo on arms to Israel
I have written a public letter to the Foreign Secretary and the Business Secretary, with the support of the Campaign Against Arms Trade, calling for an embargo on arms to Israel and greater transparency in UK arms exports. 57 MPs and Lords have signed it.
This follows the Adjournment Debate on arms exports to Israel I held last month, which you can read about here.
Repeated calls for greater transparency from the government have so far gone unanswered. The bare minimum we can do is be fully honest about what we are sending to a state involved in the indiscriminate slaughter of civilians.
The components which create the fighter jets that Israel has used to level Gaza are 15% British-made – we cannot hide from that. Without British arms export licenses, these jets could not fly, they could not drop their bombs.
The government must impose an embargo on arms to Israel or risk being complicit in genocide.
