Pakistan, Indonesia, and Azerbaijan Weigh Joining Gaza Stabilization Force as Trump Team Works To Form Palestinian Technocratic Government
According to US defense sources, the three nations are “top contenders” to supply troops to the proposed International Stabilization Force, though none has yet formally agreed to participate. A Trump adviser named Indonesia and Azerbaijan, along with Egypt, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, as possible contributors. So far, Indonesia is the only country to publicly offer troops, saying it could deploy 20,000 soldiers under a United Nations (UN)-mandated peacekeeping mission—something not outlined in Trump’s 20-point plan.
The US is also moving to recruit Palestinians for a transitional technocratic government to administer Gaza.

Relatedly, substantial percentages of both independents and Republicans stressed that they felt the Democratic Party is untrustworthy, either because they lie or because they are corrupt. One Republican respondent reported feeling that the Democratic Party “has become extremely corrupt while pointing the blame at others. [They are] more interested in helping themselves than helping their constituents.” Along similar lines, an independent respondent charged that the Democrats were the “party of the rich and fraudulent.”

The Trump administration is playing another long game, or trying to, in the streets of US cities under Democratic Party governance, using existing presidential emergency powers to send National Guard, Army troops and ICE agents to hunt down and arrest suspected undocumented immigrants and detain and deport them, without the due process demanded by the Constitution. What’s happening now may be a trial run for the use of those forces to interfere on the behalf of the president and the Republican Party in states where the Democratic Party has a chance to win crucial seats in next fall’s Congressional elections. I’ve been told by someone with inside knowledge that planning for such action is now under way in the White House.

Al Mezan Urges Immediate Release of Dr. Abu Safiya Ahead of Tomorrow‘s Court Hearing

Tomorrow, 16 October 2025, at 9:30 a.m. (Palestine time), the Bir al-Sabi’ District Court is scheduled to hold a closed-door hearing to extend Dr. Abu Safiya’s arbitrary detention for an additional six months. Dr. Abu Safiya will participate via video from Ofer Prison, where he is currently detained.
The prolonged detention without charges of Dr. Abu Safiya, amid documented accounts of torture, inhumane detention conditions, and the absence of any indication of release, indicates that he is being held as a hostage. Al Mezan warns that Israel may be using his detention, along with that of thousands of other Palestinians, as political leverage in ongoing ceasefire negotiations. Such use of Palestinian prisoners and detainees as bargaining cheaps constitutes hostage-taking under international humanitarian law (IHL).
Hospital chief who became face of the struggle to treat patients in Gaza still held by Israel
Despite widespread calls for his release, Abu Safiya was not among the hundreds of Palestinian detainees and prisoners freed Monday in exchange for 20 hostages held by Hamas. Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, has been imprisoned without charge by Israel for nearly 10 months.

While their release is warmly welcomed, there are at least 115 more Gazan healthcare workers who are still being held in Israeli detention. These include at least 20 doctors, of whom 15 are irreplaceable senior specialists. In the past two years, the Israeli Occupation Forces have unlawfully detained over 409 Palestinian healthcare workers from both Gaza and the West Bank. Testimonies from released healthcare workers and other Palestinians describe the horrific conditions inside the detention facilities where brutality and torture are rife[1]. Five healthcare workers have been killed while in detention.
US advisers say efforts under way for international force in Gaza

Israeli authorities on Thursday said that the second phase of the ceasefire agreement „will not begin until the bodies of all the kidnapped soldiers are recovered“, Israeli Army Radio reported.
Gaza’s death toll rises to 67,938, health ministry says
The bodies of 25 people, and 35 wounded Palestinians have arrived at Gaza’s hospitals in the past 24 hours, the enclave’s health ministry said in a statement on Telegram.
The number includes 16 bodies newly recovered from the rubble and one person who died from their wounds.
The ministry said the Israeli attacks have killed at least 67,938 people and wounded 170,169 others across the enclave since the war began in October 2023.
