Iran‘s Pezeshkian says Iran does not seek war, but Israel, US seek to ‚divide, destroy Iran‘
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Friday that Iran does not seek war but if Israel and the United States attacked, Iran will stand against them „forcefully“.
„America and Israel seek to divide and destroy Iran, but no Iranian wants Iran to be divided“, he said in a pre-recorded TV interview.
Europe just made war with Iran more likely
France, Germany, and the UK (E3) have announced they will trigger snapback sanctions on Iran at the United Nations. This will launch a 30-day process that will likely culminate in the full reinstatement of all U.N. sanctions lifted under the 2015 nuclear deal. The move will carry four major consequences.
First, the U.N. Security Council will formally adopt the demand — pushed by Israel — that Iran cease all uranium enrichment. Israel designed this demand to sabotage nuclear diplomacy and edge the conflict toward war….
Sudan: Guterres calls for ceasefire in El Fasher, deplores ‘relentless’ militia attacks
Since 11 August, the UN has documented the killing of at least 125 civilians in the El Fasher area, including summary executions – although the actual number is likely to be higher.
“The Secretary-General is alarmed at the grave risks of serious violations of international humanitarian law as well as violations and abuses of international human rights law, including ethnically motivated ones,” said Mr. Dujarric.
Meanwhile, supplies are pre-positioned near El Fasher, but the UN and partners continue to face obstacles in moving them into the city.
Some 70 trucks of humanitarian assistance are currently waiting in Nyala, South Darfur, a top official with the UN aid coordination office OCHA said on Thursday in New York.
Mr. Dujarric also noted that repeated attacks on humanitarian personnel and assets in North Darfur have occurred over recent months.
Sudan details RSF atrocities in El Fasher, slams international silence
(today)
He said 260,000 civilians remain trapped in the city, facing hunger and disease, with 130,000 children suffering from malnutrition. Al-Amin accused RSF fighters of raping 23 children and killing 1,000 others, whose bodies he said were mutilated.
The RSF has also destroyed six schools and 35 hospitals, according to Al-Amin. He called on the international community to work together to deliver humanitarian aid.
The government’s Humanitarian Aid Commissioner, Salwa Adam Binnia, called for the enforcement of UN Security Council Resolution 2736, which demanded the RSF halt the siege. She said government relief has been blocked from reaching the city.
MK Cassif: More of Us in Israel are Saying No to this Endless War
(August 27, 2025)
As the descendant of a Jewish family from Poland, the words “never again” have significant meaning for me. In the aftermath of the Second World War, humankind vowed to never again allow such atrocities to occur. The Holocaust, the mass extermination of the Jewish people, plumbed the very depths of tyrannical evil. Precisely because of this heritage, I view “never again” as a universal imperative.
In 1948, the international community adopted the universal declaration of human rights and the convention on the prevention and punishment of the crime of genocide. In the decades since, we have failed globally many times to safeguard this invaluable truth: that people must not perish in flames, and such heinous crimes must not be perpetrated while outsiders stand idly by. But never in recent times have people around the world started into the abyss of annihilation as we are doing today in Gaza. As such, “never again” is not merely a moral reminder but an ethical decree to act.
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, as the saying goes. It seems that Netanyahu manages to fool western leaders time and time again. On Friday, in response to the IPC declaration of famine, the UK foreign secretary, David Lammy, said it was an “utterly horrifying and wholly preventable man-made catastrophe”. May I ask Lammy and the rest of the British cabinet – are you among the people responsible for this catastrophe?
Turkish official urges action against Israel, calls for exclusion from global community
“The humanitarian crimes committed by Netanyahu’s government are a black stain on Israel’s history. Future generations will remember today with shame and as a warning. Netanyahu and his gang will one day be held accountable,” Oktay said.

„Those who support the commission of these crimes and those who remain silent will also be condemned before history,“ he said.
„Israel has entered a status that requires exclusion from the international system. It must be forced to stop its massacres and expansionism,“ Oktay added.
Israel‘s Gaza policies put entire Middle East into danger: Fidan
The fact that prominent countries like France, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Malta, and Portugal have announced they will recognize Palestine as a state during the U.N. General Assembly works in September constitutes a historic milestone, Fidan said.
“These are overdue but very valuable steps. As a result of decisive diplomacy, Israel’s so-called legitimacy is falling apart.”
“Our job is to maintain and accelerate this momentum,” Fidan said, citing that excluding Israel from the works of the U.N. General Assembly is among the objectives of like-minded countries.
Turkey cuts all trade ties with Israel, shuts its airspace and ports over Gaza war
Turkey on Friday announced that it has decided to completely sever all commercial and economic ties with Israel and close its airspace to Israeli aircraft, marking a sharp escalation in diplomatic tensions between the two countries amid the ongoing war in Gaza. The government has also barred Turkish vessels from entering Israeli ports.
Strong words, weak action: European Union’s cautious stance on Israel
Data shows that despite strong public opposition by EU member countries to Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and accusations of war crimes by international bodies, the EU remains reluctant to take any meaningful economic action against Israel.
Joint Statement on the situation in Palestine
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Slovenia and Spain strongly condemn the most recent Israeli offensive launched in the Strip and the announcement to establish a permanent presence in Gaza City. We reiterate that the intensification of military operations will endanger the lives of hostages who cruelly remain at the hands of Hamas and will lead to the intolerable deaths of innocent Palestinian civilians, including women, children and elderly people. We also denounce the forced displacement of Palestinians, which represents a flagrant violation of international law.
This new offensive is opening a new phase of uncertainty and intolerable suffering for both sides. The systematic destruction of essential civilian infrastructure, including locations that serve as refuge for extremely vulnerable displaced civilians, is unacceptable. We urge the Israeli government to immediately reconsider its decision and cease operations. This spiral of violence must end.
We are horrified by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification’s (IPC) confirmation of famine in Gaza Governorate and the projected spread to surrounding areas in the coming weeks. We call on Israel to uphold its humanitarian obligations, as required under international law. The humanitarian situation remains critical and must immediately be addressed. UN agencies and NGOs must be allowed to fully operate on the ground to alleviate the humanitarian catastrophe, according to humanitarian principles. Immediate and large scale humanitarian action is needed.
We also take this opportunity to express our deepest concerns regarding the expansion of settlement construction in the West Bank, which is illegal according to international law. We call on Israel to reverse its decision. We are further alarmed by the actions of violent settlers who appear to be acting with impunity. Ongoing military operations in both Gaza and the West Bank represent a serious obstacle to the implementation of the two-State solution, which is the only path towards long-lasting peace.
The international community will not remain silent in the face of human rights violations, and we will continue working intensively for peace. We will continue supporting mediation efforts and we urge both sides to reach a permanent ceasefire agreement that will pave the way towards peace. We also continue to call for the immediate release of all hostages and the rapid and unimpeded entry of humanitarian aid at scale into and throughout Gaza. We all need peace and stability to return to the region.

Frankfurt verbietet Demo gegen Gaza-Krieg

Israeli Airstrikes Hit Al-Zeitoun Neighborhood In Gaza City
Aug 28, 2025
On Thursday, the Israeli military bombarded the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City, Gaza.
‚Earthquake-like‘: Israeli bombing rocks Gaza City as occupation threat looms
A resident of al-Saftawi neighbourhood, also in the north of the city, Matar and his wife were startled awake by what he described as a “frightening sound of movement“.
“We thought it was the sound of asbestos sheets being moved from place to place by a crane or a tuk-tuk. We couldn’t sleep out of fear.”
At around 4:45am, the couple realised the sound had come from a remotely controlled Israeli military robot.
The robots, which carry explosives, have been widely used by Israeli forces during the ongoing invasion of Gaza, often targeting civilian homes.
Airstrikes, explosive vehicles, and bulldozers cause ‘insane’ destruction in Gaza City, eyewitnesses and civil defense say
The “robots” described by Ismail are likely the Israeli army’s outdated M113 APC models, which have been retrofitted with explosives and remotely detonated near buildings throughout the war. Ismail told Mondoweiss that neither he nor his family had time to take anything from their home due to fears that the APC near them would be detonated.
“Before now, the army used to blow up one or two buildings with the robots. Now they destroy dozens of buildings at once. Robots and warplanes are working together to destroy every place in Gaza City,” he described.

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, at least eight people were killed in the Russian airstrikes in Kiev, and dozens were injured. The Kyiv Independent newspaper reported the death toll was at least 10.
The Russian military used not only drones but also ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and Kinzhal (Dagger) hypersonic missiles.

Malaysia: Suspend Israel’s UN membership, says Foreign Minister
He said he had already raised the matter at an emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers, where all OIC nations unanimously rejected Israel’s intentions to take full control of Gaza.
“I will continue to repeat this call — for Israel to be suspended or removed from the international community,” he said.
New Zealand challenged to vote for Israel‘s suspension in United Nations
(August 26, 2025)
PSNA Co-chair, John Minto, says New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters will have to take a stand on this issue.
“Cabinet should give him clear instructions to vote against Israeli war crimes and support Palestinian rights.”
“Suspension of Israel will have a lot of backing from many countries horrified with the starvation and carnage in Gaza, and they want to do something effective, instead of just recognising Palestine as a state.
“Even if the US vetoes such a move in the Security Council, there is a precedent going back to 1974 when South Africa was suspended from the General Assembly because it practiced apartheid. The General Assembly suspended a member then, and New Zealand should back such a move now.”
