North Korea‘s state media reported earlier that a Russian delegation led by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and a Chinese delegation led by Li Hongzhong, a member of the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party, arrived in Pyongyang this week to take part in events marking the 70th anniversary of the end of the 1950-53 Korean War.
Earlier reports said the North held a massive military parade in Pyongyang late Thursday (Korea time) to mark the day that is celebrated in the country as Victory Day.

As he prepares for upcoming discussions with the North Koreans, he is leaving one tool conspicuously on the table: the prospect of an official declaration to end the Korean War.
He went on to explain: “I repeated it but it was a comment that had been made by the leaders who had their inter-Korean summit in Pyongyang. They talked about 2021 when they were gathered there. So I was reiterating this as a timeline that they were potentially prepared to agree to.” Pompeo is set to visit Pyongyang on Sunday for nuclear negotiations, his first trip since an earlier one was canceled by Trump over a lack of progress.

North Korea on Tuesday reiterated its demand for the declaration of an official end to the 1950-53 Korean War, the country‘s leading Rodong Sinmun newspaper reported, amid U.S. President Donald Trump‘s indication that he will most likely meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un again.
The Rodong Sinmun of the ruling Workers‘ Party said in a commentary, „The declaration of an end to the war is a task that cannot be postponed in the implementation of the Panmunjom Declaration.“
When he met with representatives of political parties in Seoul on Thursday, President Moon Jae-in of South Korea said that negotiations between the United States and North Korea have recently gained “speed,” with Mr. Pompeo planning to visit North Korea again, according to Yun So-ha, an opposition leader, who briefed reporters on the meeting.
