Noelle McAfee (age 63, born November 25, 1960) is a prominent political theorist and feminist. Currently, she holds the position of chair in the philosophy department at Emory University, a role she’s held since 2010.
Alongside being a Professor of Philosophy, she’s also a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory.

Kemp, a onetime ally of the former president, stirred Trump’s ire following the 2020 presidential election after he rebuffed his pleas to overturn President Biden’s electoral victory in Georgia. Trump vowed to campaign against Kemp, eventually persuading Perdue to enter the race for governor in hopes of ousting him.
But despite carrying Trump’s endorsement, Perdue struggled to gain traction among Georgia Republican voters.
The Pentagon has confirmed four of the Colombian mercenaries accused of assassinating Haitian President Jovenel Moïse once received U.S. military training at Fort Benning in Georgia while they were members of the Colombian armed forces.
The race between Perdue and Ossoff is much closer, with the candidates separated by about 3,000 votes and taking turns in the lead throughout the night.
Neither Loeffler nor Warnock reached the 50 percent threshold needed to win the general election in November, sending the race into a runoff. Warnock, who benefited from then-Rep. The supervisor, Marcia Ridley of the Spalding County Board of Elections, had initially attributed the problem to a vendor’s 11th-hour update to the equipment. But log files for the devices — electronic poll books that poll workers use to sign in voters at precincts — show that no such update occurred to the devices the night before Election Day, Ridley said in a statement to POLITICO on Thursday. However, she said she stands by her previous statements last week that a representative for the election technology vendor, Dominion Voting Systems, told her office that it had uploaded some kind of update the night before the election and that this had created the glitch.
The party’s 2024 hopefuls are set to blanket the Peach State ahead of the Jan. 5 runoff elections, but GOP senators say they hope that Trump, who is locked in a myriad of legal challenges surrounding the presidential race, is able to lend his megaphone to help hold onto the Senate majority.

The Spalding County Sheriff‘s Office wrote in a Facebook post Tuesday that „the computers at all polling locations across Spalding County are down. The problem is being worked on and hopefully will be resolved quickly. Until the issue is fixed, paper ballots are being used at all locations.“
A spokesperson for Dominion Voting Systems, the voting equipment manufacturer that was awarded a contract by Georgia state officials to implement new voting systems last year, told The Hill that the company had “tech support onsite to assist the county with real-time help and all challenges are being addressed as quickly as possible.”

In a nod to the importance of winning Pennsylvania in order to secure a second term, Trump will hold four rallies in the Keystone State on Saturday.
The president will then hold five rallies on Sunday, all in states he won in 2016 but where he is now on defense against Biden: Michigan, Iowa, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

In a statement, Kemp said that he has failed to reach an agreement with Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms (D) and will instead file an executive order.
Since November 2017, sectional radars and smart cameras began to appear in the country, the main advantage of which is that they can automatically identify the offender and issue a fine. They work with the help of video analysis programs located in the Joint Operations Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Kemp’s executive order issued Wednesday prevents local governments from enforcing mandatory face covering orders that are more restrictive than the current statewide order. The move effectively voided orders issued by at least 15 local governments across the state, according to The Associated Press.

Two days before we spoke on May 31, Nabilah Islam had joined with protesters in Atlanta who were calling for an end to police violence and racist policing. Islam is running for Congress in Georgia’s Seventh District, which includes Gwinnett County near Atlanta. It’s an open seat, and the Democratic primary is June 9.
Islam, 30, said that she didn’t see any elected officials or candidates at the protest she attended. “I think it’s very important that we’re present with people on the ground,” she said. “I think the status quo isn’t working when a leading cause of death for young black men are police encounters in this country.”

Jackie Johnson, the district attorney for the Brunswick Judicial Circuit, recused her office as Gregory McMichael, one of the men involved in the shooting, was a former investigator in her office.
That was the case Feb. 23, when Arbery was spotted jogging through his neighborhood by Gregory McMichael, who believed Arbery looked like a suspect in a spate of recent break-ins, according to a police report published by the New York Times.
Only one burglary was reported to the Glynn County Police Department in the Satilla Shores neighborhood between Jan. 1 and Feb. 23, and it involved a pistol taken from a pickup truck outside of Travis McMichael’s home, the Brunswick News reported.

The prosecutor said video footage of the shooting, made by a neighbor, shows Arbery to be the aggressor.

Seven anti-nuclear activists face up to 20 years in prison after a jury in Georgia on Thursday found the activists guilty of four counts of destruction and depredation of government property in excess of $1,000, trespassing, and conspiracy, charges that could land each member of the group in prison for up to 20 years.
Gov. Nathan Deal in September signed an executive order appointing Hines as a senior appellate court justice, meaning Hines could fill in on the Supreme Court or the Court of Appeals when needed.
