How to Change Your DNS on Any Device
(20.01.2024)
A Domain Name System (DNS) matches human-friendly domain names to computer-friendly IP addresses.
When you type in a domain name like cyberghost.com, for example, your web browser sends the request to your ISP via your router. Your ISP refers the request to its default DNS server. The DNS server then supplies the relevant IP address so your browser can load the appropriate page.
A DNS also saves a local copy or cache of sites youâve recently visited on your device for quick and easy reference.
It seems like a streamlined service; what could go wrong? Check the following reasons why you should change your DNS.
Brief History of the Domain Name System
Jan. 7, 1958 â President Eisenhower requested funds to start ARPA.
(…)
– Early 1967 â Meeting of ARPAâs principal investigators in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Roberts (the director of the IPTO) put forward the idea of a computer network. Wes Clark introduced the idea of a subnetwork: small, identical computers all interconnected â âinterface message processors (IMPs).â Engelbert volunteered to the Network Information Center (NIC).
– 1967 â Roberts published paper on ARPANET.
– End of 1967 â The Association for Computing Machineryâs computer conference in Gatliburg, Tennessee. Roberts presented his first paper on ARPANET and heard of work done by Donald Daviesâ team at NPL and Paul Baran at RAND.
(…)
Summer 1975 â The Defense Communications Agency (DCA) took over the management of ARPANET.
(…)
– November 1983 â The rapid growth of the internet caused massive problems in bookkeeping. To deal with this problem a group including Jon Postel, Paul Mockapetris and Craig Partrige published RFC 882 which created the domain name system (DNS) to make Internet navigation easier. With DNS, users can type host names such as âUSC-ISIFâ instead of â10.2.0.52.â Every Address would have information from specific to general.
Report 2026: Dns Industry Statistics
DNS traffic reached 92% unencrypted queries that expose 4 trillion lookups to eavesdropping every day. In 2023, DDoS attacks amplified via DNS made up 15% of total volume, peaking at 2.5 Tbps.
Domain Name System
The IETF and the Domain Name System (DNS) emerged around the same time and in conjunction with one another. The first DNS-related RFC was published in 1983, and the IETF has continued to be intimately involved in the stability and evolution of the DNS.
(…)
The global DNS is a core part of the Internet experience for billions of people around the world, handling more than one million queries per second every second of every day. The IETFâs freely-available standards, and the processes by which they are developed, ensure the DNS is open, globally interoperable, reliable, and secure.

Trump plans to form âAI Force,â appoint âAI Czarâ
The president compared his proposed âAI Forceâ to the Space Force, which he established during his first term, but did not elaborate on how the agency would operate or what its duties would entail.
For the new âAI Czarâ position, Trump said, âOnly High I.Q. individuals need to apply!â He did not expand further on the latest iteration of the role.
TLS 1.3
TLS 1.3 was defined in RFC 8446 in August 2018.[7] and updated with RFC 9846 in July 2026. It is based on the earlier TLS 1.2 specification.
(…)
Network Security Services (NSS), the cryptography library developed by Mozilla and used by its web browser Firefox, enabled TLS 1.3 by default in February 2017.[61]
(…)
In September 2018, the popular OpenSSL project released version 1.1.1 of its library, in which support for TLS 1.3 was „the headline new feature“.[74]

Voice of Cuban writers and artists at Human Rights Council in Geneva
(September 18, 2026)
Before a plenary session composed of diplomats, experts, and representatives of organizations from around the world, Bonet de la Cruz spoke about the negative effects that the United Statesâ economic, commercial, and financial blockade against Cuba, as well as the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the world power against the small Caribbean island, have on all sectors, especially culture and artistic creation.
Given their importance, we share in full the words of the intellectual and director before the CDDHH and the international community:
Cuba hit with another nationwide blackout amid US fuel blockade
Cuba suffered a total blackout after the collapse of its electrical grid on Friday. The blackout is the latest of at least six partial or total grid collapses since the beginning of this year, as the island grapples with an ongoing US fuel blockade.
4 killed in U.S. strike on alleged drug-smuggling boat in Caribbean, Pentagon says
The U.S. military attacked a boat suspected of being used to smuggle drugs in the Caribbean Sea on Saturday, killing four people, as the Trump administration continues its monthslong campaign against alleged traffickers in Latin America.
The latest attack brings the number of people who have been killed in boat strikes by the U.S. military to at least 231 in 69 strikes since the Trump administration began targeting those it calls „narcoterrorists“ about one year ago.
Trump returns to White House earlier than expected
The administration did not give a reason for the change of plans. Trump was originally scheduled to depart Camp David later on Sunday local time.
(…)
Trumpâs return to the White House came after the US State Department issued an alert to US citizens in the Middle East, warning that hostilities between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis in Yemen have âthe potential to escalate rapidlyâ.
Liveblog: Wahl in Berlin & Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
20.09.2026 | 10:17
âIs Trump Getting A Monopolyâ: Greenlanders Remain âNervous And Skepticalâ, Question New Deal With US
Aka Hansen, a filmmaker and opposition political party member in Nuuk, said she had been told earlier this year to prepare for the worst. She stored five daysâ worth of water in case of an American invasion.
âNow, suddenly, everything is fine,“ Hansen said, according to The New York Times. âWhat happened in between?“
âNervous and Skeptical,â Greenlanders Question the New Deal With Trump
âMy immediate reaction is that it makes me nervous and skeptical,â Ellen Frederiksen, a retired teacher in Narsaq, a town in southern Greenland, said by telephone.
âThe way Trump presents it, it sounds as if he is being given a monopoly over Greenland,â she said. âI sincerely hope that isnât the case.â
Trump strikes Greenland deal with Denmark after threatening annexation
(Updated 1 hr 49 min ago)
âThe United States of America has entered into an Agreement with The Kingdom of Denmark, and Greenland, that gives the United States permanent control over security, and all other needs, in Greenland, completely addressing ALL of our many U.S. concerns. There will be NO COST to the United States!â Trump wrote on Truth Social, going on to call the arrangement âan âInfinite Lifeâ Agreement.â
Trumpâs announcement Friday means Greenland remains under Danish control and came ahead of the official text being released. It is unclear how far this agreement differs from an existing 1951 pact between the US and Denmark that allowed broad US military presence in Greenland.
Saudi Arabia confirms Yemenâs Houthi rebels tried to attack its capital with a ballistic missile
Saudi Arabia on Saturday confirmed that Yemenâs Houthi rebels tried to attack its capital with a ballistic missile, the first targeting of Riyadh since the escalation in fighting with the Tehran-backed rebels that has opened a new front in the Iran war.
The statement by the Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthis came long after the dawn attempt, which the coalition said was intercepted. Some residents in Riyadh heard an explosion. Later, some saw a plume of smoke near the airport. There were no reports of casualties or damage.
