Press statement by Commissioner Kyriakides on vaccine deliveries and on the vaccine export transparency scheme
Good evening.
You know that AstraZeneca‘s vaccine is currently in the final stages of the approval process with the European Medicines Agency.
If all requirements are met, the European Medicines Agency could recommend market authorisation by the end of this week.
But there is a problem on the supply side.
Last Friday, the company AstraZeneca surprisingly informed the Commission and the European Union Member States that it intends to supply considerably fewer doses in the coming weeks than agreed and announced.
This new schedule is not acceptable to the European Union.

AuĂer auf das Weimar Urteil werden sich KlĂ€ger und ihre AnwĂ€lte nun womöglich auch auf die Weltgesundheitsorganisation WHO berufen: Sie hat letzte Woche explizit bestĂ€tigt, dass es sich bei der Zahl der fehleranfĂ€lligen positiven PCR-Tests nicht um die Zahl der Infektionen handelt. Das hat möglicherweise Folgen fĂŒr die sogenannten „Inzidenzwerte“, fĂŒr deren Ermittlung die deutsche StaatsfĂŒhrung auf die PCR-Testergebnisse zurĂŒckgreift.

Merke: Die Konstruktion des Grundgesetzes, jedem Richter die Befugnis eingerĂ€umt zu haben, nichtförmliche Gesetze wegen Verfassungswidrigkeit fĂŒr nichtig zu halten, hat eine rechtsstaatlich sehr robuste und resiliente Rechtsschutzstruktur geschaffen, um BĂŒrgerrechte zu wahren und zu schĂŒtzen. Damit Richter BĂŒrger schĂŒtzen können, muĂ man sie aber auch anrufen. Wo kein KlĂ€ger, da kein Richter.
Corona-Politik: Simulation und Wirklichkeit
Die Tatsache, dass erste FĂ€lle von Covid-19 nur zwei Monate nach dieser Simulation tatsĂ€chlich auftraten, und dass das Szenario der spĂ€teren Wirklichkeit so frappierend Ă€hnlich war, gab natĂŒrlich Anlass zu Fragen und Spekulationen. Die Veranstalter verneinen jedoch, irgendeine frĂŒhere Kenntnis von dem realen Covid-19-Virus und der kommenden Seuche gehabt zu haben.
Das Event war aus jeder Perspektive perfekt ausgestaltet und organisiert. Die Gastgeber hatten weder Geld noch MĂŒhen gescheut, um eine tĂ€uschend echte Simulation zu schaffen. Die Vorbereitung muss Monate in Anspruch genommen haben, das Event selbst wurde an einem Tag abgewickelt.
