A sixth journalist is now confirmed killed by Israel on Monday.
Prominent investigative journalist Hassan Douhan was the editor-in-chief of Gaza‘s al-Hayat al-Jadida, and trained many rising journalists in the enclave.
He was shot dead by Israeli soldiers in Khan Younis, according to the Gaza media office.
In addition to the five journalists killed earlier in the day in the bombing of Nasser Hospital, the total number of Palestinian journalists killed since 7 October 2023 now stands at 246.

ZDF-Sommerinterview: Schwerdtner bestätigt Deal mit der Union
Es ist der 6. Mai.
Rust Belt Voters Are Sick of Both Parties
(June 20, 2025)
Polling shows Americans are ready to support independent populists running on economic platforms. But what they don’t want is anything associated with the Democratic Party’s brand.
Does the Democratic Party Have a Death Wish?
How about a new second party instead of a third party?
New York’s Most Powerful Democrat Hasn’t Endorsed Mamdani. Yet.
(August 14, 2025)
The governor is not alone in her hesitancy. Prominent Democrats from New York — including the Senate minority leader, Chuck Schumer; Senator Kirsten Gillibrand; and the House minority leader, Hakeem Jeffries — have not made an endorsement in the race. Of the 10 House Democrats in New York City, only four have endorsed Mr. Mamdani.
Like House Democrats, Ms. Hochul is facing re-election next year, potentially against Representative Elise Stefanik, a top Republican supporter of President Trump. Some political observers think that an enthusiastic endorsement of Mr. Mamdani could hurt the governor in more conservative areas of the state.
Israel‘s Conduct in Gaza Amounts to Genocidal Acts With an Intent to Commit Genocide
Israel is committing genocide beyond a shadow of doubt, and all states party to the Genocide Convention “have an obligation to prevent and punish genocide,” says Dr. Melanie O’Brien, a renowned scholar of International Law, in the interview that follows. O’Brien is Associate Professor of International Law at the University of Western Australia; President of the International Association of Genocide Scholars; and Visiting Scholar at the University of Minnesota Human Rights Law Center.

The Israeli army has warned that implementing the government‘s orders to demolish all of Gaza City, both above and below ground, similar to operations carried out in Beit Hanoun and Rafah, could take many months, potentially more than a year.

Francesca Albanese to contribute to Corbyn ‚Gaza tribunal‘ on UK complicity in genocide
Albanese‘s involvement was confirmed by Corbyn during an appearance by the veteran politician at a fringe event at the Edinburgh festival on Saturday.
The UN special rapporteur will be asked for comment on the use of RAF bases in Cyprus to help Israel‘s military.
Set to take place in September, the tribunal follows Corbyn‘s unsuccessful attempts to pass legislation in parliament for an independent public tribunal.
Those attempts were blocked by the ruling Labour party.
UN envoy Albanese calls for sanctions after journalists killed in Gaza strike
She described the attack as „disgraceful“ and „abominable,“ stating it was part of a pattern where journalists are targeted for „what they‘re doing.“
Albanese argued that Israel‘s illegal occupation and its actions—from attacking hospitals to imposing a famine—amount to international crimes, creating an „apocalyptic“ situation in Gaza.
She insisted that member states who are „not doing enough to stop it are themselves making themselves responsible“ and called for urgent sanctions and for nations to break the naval blockade with humanitarian aid.
The European Union Is Complicit in Genocide
(August 11, 2025)
The EU presents itself as a global champion of moral and legal leadership, grounded in the principles of human rights, international law, democracy, and humanitarianism. Yet its failure to uphold these values in the case of Palestine severely undermines its credibility. As Israel’s largest trading partner and second-largest arms supplier, the EU possesses considerable leverage; its refusal to use this influence to hold Israel accountable or protect Palestinian lives signals not powerlessness but a conscious choice of complicity. Moreover, given its member states’ historical entanglement in the colonial partitioning of the Middle East, the EU bears a deeper responsibility to act with justice. Its failure to do so today echoes the very dynamics of domination and double standards it claims to have left behind.
EU-Israel: Refusal to suspend the EU-Israel Association Agreement is a ‘cruel and unlawful betrayal’
(July 15, 2025)
Reacting to the EU’s decision not to suspend the EU-Israel Association Agreement, Agnès Callamard Amnesty International’s Secretary General said:
“The EU’s refusal to suspend its agreement with Israel is a cruel and unlawful betrayal – of the European project and vision, predicated on upholding international law and fighting authoritarian practices, of the European Union’s own rules and of the human rights of Palestinians.
This will be remembered as one of the most disgraceful moments in the EU’s history.

Any government in the world could expel the rogue state of Israel from the United Nations. None does.
