MEPs Call to Suspend EU-Israel Association Agreement Following Violent Abductions of the Global Sumud Flotilla Volunteers on the Mediterranean Sea

We therefore demand:

– Immediate suspension of the EU–Israel Association Agreement pending compliance with its human rights provisions; Immediate and unconditional release of all detained flotilla participants;

– An independent international inquiry into the full scope of EU member state complicity in the abduction, detention, and documented physical and sexual violence inflicted upon flotilla participants by Israeli forces. Europe cannot continue to look away. Each failure to act is a signal to Israel that there is no cost to lawlessness. That signal must end now.

They’re Not Mad At Ben-Gvir For Being Evil, They’re Mad At Him For Being Honest

Ben-Gvir’s Twitter account shared a video of the minister taunting activists who were abducted by Israeli forces in international waters earlier this week, captioning it “This is how we accept the supporters of terrorism” in Hebrew and “Welcome to Israel” in English.

The video shows flotilla activists from Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand being shoved, held in stress positions on the ground, and mocked by Ben-Gvir while restrained. This all of course pales in comparison to the abuses endured by Palestinian captives on a daily basis, but it’s the subject of international outcry today because the victims are from the west.

Die USA haben ein Problem. Es ist schlimmer als das Fehlen von Raketen und Bomben, das sich beim Angriffskrieg gegen Iran so bitter bemerkbar machte. Es lautet: Mit der Softpower ist es vorbei, mit dem guten Gefühl, das einst etwa Hollywood-Filme in aller Welt vermittelten. Den besten Beweis dafür lieferte die Eröffnung des neuen US-Konsulats mitten im Herzen der grönländischen Hauptstadt Nuuk am Donnerstag. Nicht nur, dass lokale Offizielle dem Event demonstrativ fernblieben. Obendrein zogen auch noch erstaunlich viele Grönländer vor das von ihnen »Trump Towers« getaufte Gebäude, um die Festlichkeiten mit »Ami go home!«- und »Nein heißt nein!«-Rufen zu stören.

Tulsi Gabbard resigns as Trump‘s national intelligence director

There had been rumblings that Gabbard would split with Trump after the president‘s decision to strike Iran, which caused some division within his administration. Joe Kent, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, announced his resignation in March, saying he „cannot in good conscience“ back the war.

Gabbard, a veteran and former Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii, built her political name on her opposition to foreign wars. This put her in an awkward position when the U.S. joined Israel in launching attacks on Iran on Feb. 28.
