Hadash Lawmakers Against Netanyahu’s Decision to Stop Entry of Aid into Gaza

“Don’t you dare sabotage the deal,” the organizers wrote in a press statement before the gathering. “This evening proves that the public won’t stay quiet. While Netanyahu and [Finance Minister Bezalel] Smotrich care more about political calculations than human lives, thousands hit the streets to remind them of their main obligation – bringing all the hostages back home,” they wrote. During the demonstration Partnership for Peace protesters, among them Hadash activists, called “No transfer, no to starvation, refuse to serve in the war” and “No to massacres, we refuse to be criminals.” At the same hour and under the banner “Stop Gaza starvation”, Hadash activists’ demonstrated near the Israeli army headquarters in Tel-Aviv

(February 25, 2025)

His visit follows talks with Friedrich Merz, the likely next German chancellor, who has urged the UK and France to strengthen Europe’s independent nuclear security capabilities.

The proposal under discussion involves stationing French Dassault Rafale fighter jets, equipped with nuclear weapons, on German soil. This move would serve both as a deterrent against potential Russian aggression and as a signal of Europe’s ability to act independently of the United States in defence matters.

According to The Telegraph, French officials have indicated that such a deployment would not be technically difficult and could send a powerful strategic message.

Macron echoed this perspective in a live chat on social media on Thursday evening.

‘This is our land’ – Building Gaza’s future from the wreckage of war

Using small tools and his bare hands, he sifts through mounds of twisted debris and dirt to try and unearth belongings and important paperwork such as property deeds to prove he is the legal owner.

He dreams of one day being able to rebuild; in the short-term, he hopes that even the rubble might hold some value.

The war in Gaza has left an unprecedented level of destruction, with an estimated 51 million tons of rubble blanketing the landscape where bustling neighborhoods once thrived.

According to a new UN damage and needs assessment report, over 60 per cent of homes – amounting to some 292,000 – and 65 per cent of roads have been destroyed, across the approximately 360 square kilometre enclave.

As the international community ponders Gaza’s future and how to rebuild, Al-Majdalawi is sure of one thing: “We will not leave. That will not happen. This is our land.’’

The steps toward peace would: keep aid flowing to Kyiv and maintain economic pressure on Russia to strengthen Ukraine’s hand; make sure Ukraine is at the bargaining table and any peace deal must ensure its sovereignty and security; and continue to arm Ukraine to deter future invasion.
