The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA, offers Iran relief from sanctions in exchange for its scaling back of parts of its nuclear program until 2025.
The United States, which under former President Barack Obama was the driving force behind the deal, pulled out last year under President Donald Trump and snapped back sanctions on Iran and third parties that do business with the Islamic Republit.

The Republican Jewish Coalition also agrees with Graham. It tweeted a clip of his statement, made to Fox News, and wrote “He isn’t wrong.”
Asked to elaborate, an RJC spokesman wrote to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that “we simply believe that everything Senator Graham says in this clip is correct, both in fact and sentiment.”

Bild, the most widely-read newspaper in Germany, sharply criticized the report, calling it anti-Semitic.
Israel’s education minister has provoked a storm of anger by backing “gay conversion therapy”, a discredited technique that seeks to turn people heterosexual.
Rafi Peretz said it could work and that he had even performed it.
“I think that it is possible to convert [someone’s sexual orientation],” Mr Peretz said.
“I can tell you that I have deep familiarity on the issue of education, and I have also done this.”
Why isn’t the army called in to protect America’s remaining Jews, who every day face the danger of assimilation and annihilation in this Shoah? For what purpose was the State of Israel and the Israel Defense Forces founded, if not to guarantee that not one more Jew will ever be lost in a Holocaust in the Diaspora? Why aren’t U.S. Jews being airlifted to Israel, or guided by Mossad agents in the Mexican desert?

To label this comment “offensive” is a severe understatement. Fifty-eight percent of American Jews have non-Jewish spouses, per a 2013 Pew survey. Telling the majority of American Jews that they are perpetrating genocide on their own people is about as inflammatory as it gets.

Meanwhile the slow slog of diplomacy continues, with European foreign ministers due to meet again on Monday. The EU says that more members, and non-member states too, are buying into the Instex barter-style system created to enable trade. But it still needs proper funding.
In reality, the US sanctions and, partly, Europe’s inability to save the JCPOA are gradually radicalizing Iran and its society. Moderates in Tehran risk being accused of betraying their country. They are being undermined and isolated, and their positions are being taken away one by one. For instance, Heshmatollah Falhatpishe, a prominent moderate and pragmatist parliament member, recently tweeted that Iran should give Instex more time. But he‘s no longer taken seriously, having just last month lost his position as chairman of parliament‘s foreign policy commission to a staunch JCPOA enemy.

Ahead of the foreign affairs council on Monday 15 July, the foreign ministers of the UK, France, and Germany issued a joint statement calling for dialogue between all parties involved.
We express deep concern that Iran is not meeting several of its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
Iran has stated that it wants to remain within the JCPoA.
It must act accordingly by reversing these activities and returning to full JCPoA compliance without delay.
These compliance issues must be addressed within the framework of the JCPoA, and a Joint Commission should be convened urgently.
