RAY McGOVERN: Will Gabbard Be Able to Direct the Intelligence âCommunityâ?
On July 22, 2004, immediately after the 9/11 Commission report was released, I found myself with 9/11 commissioner (and former senator from Washington) Slade Gorton in the BBC blue room in Washington. I had the temerity to remind him that it was far from the case that âno one was in chargeâ of the intelligence community; that Tenet had all the authority he needed.
Gorton turned to me, smiled and said: âOf course we know all that; but we in the Commission and in Congress just had to do something so the American people would see that we were doing something.â
Yuck.
The national intelligence director, and the newly created bureaucracy, is what it is. Maybe Tulsi Gabbard can take the reins and make the community work. It will take a miracle; letâs hope for one.
Do we now have ISRAELI FALSE FLAG ATTACK killing US troops? Itâs âIran-backedâ MSM says. Biden: we already âknowâ that; âwhile we are still gathering the facts.â Neocons/Israel lust to get US atk on Iran. CENTCOM lied threw its teeth under then Gen. Austin

Will Biden Stay in Bibiâs Pocket?
You readers will be quick to point out, Netanyahu could not survive, were the US to stop its misconceived, lemming-like, unprecedentedly generous support for Israel. And you would be correct. Still, the odds are against anything more effective than pious calls for steps „on the path to a ceasefire“, until Israeli forces accomplish what the Israelis now admit they have long planned to achieve in Gaza.
Stephanopoulos, Blinken Score Win for MICIMATT
One must always ask cui bono? Who profits from those two „disasters“. Were they not a boon to the people with inordinate influence over those we elect (at least nominally) to run the country? I refer, of course, to those of the Military-Industrial-Congressional-Intelligence-Media-Academia-Think-Tank complex who profiteer from tension.

CIA âObsessedâ With Former UK Envoy Who Will Testify in Spying-on-Assange Case
The former British ambassador to Uzbekistan and a close associate of imprisoned WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange says he was the âtop targetâ of the 24/7 surveillance of Assange at Ecuadorâs embassy in London by the Spanish security company UC Global, which, according to press reports and court documents, shared the surveillance with the CIA.
Craig Murray said he has been contacted by an attorney in the spying case on Assange and that he will be going to Madrid to testify. The founder of UC Global, David Morales, was arrested over the surveillance (including privileged Assange-lawyer conversations) and is on trial.
Murray told former CIA analyst Ray McGovern in an email, shared with Consortium News with Murrayâs permission, that the CIA was âobsessedâ with him.
Queenâs Counsel Charges vs. Assange „Significantly Overwrought“
We are about to see how malleable the British Court system is to diktat from Washington. Will the British embrace the flimsiest of circumstantial âevidenceâ from U.S. security services that have axes to grind?
Will British officials turn their back on 800 years of progress on the human rights wrested from King John at Runnymede? Are there today no âEnglish Noblesâ to thwart the obscene âlegalâ proceedings aimed at extraditing WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange to a US prison for publishing the truth about US and UK war crimes?

RAY McGOVERN: A Non-Hack That Raised Hillaryâs Hackles
(22.07.2019)
Independent forensic investigations demonstrated two years ago that the DNC emails were not hacked over the Internet, but had been copied onto an external storage device â probably a thumb drive. Additional work over recent months has yielded more evidence that the intrusion into the DNC computers was a copy, not a hack, and that it took place on May 23 and 25, 2016.
The DNC almost certainly knew what had happened â not only that someone with physical access to DNC computers had copied thousands of emails, but also which ones they had copied, and thus how prejudicial to the Clinton campaign they would be when they saw the light of day.
And so, candidate Clinton, the DNC, and the mainstream media (forever quoting anonymous âcurrent and former intelligence officialsâ) appear to have colluded, deciding the best defense would be a good offense.
