Israel is a rogue nation. It should be removed from the United Nations

Over the past year, Israel has launched attacks on multiple countries and occupied territories: the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Iran.
Yet countries and territories aside, Israel has also targeted one specific organization with a series of unprecedented rhetorical and violent attacks.
Yes, the United Nations. We have all witnessed Israel, in effect, declare war on the UN.
Statement attributable to the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General – on the unauthorized entry into and interference with the UNRWA Kalandia Training Centre
Todayâs actions are the fifth instance of unauthorized entry by the Israeli authorities into the Centre since May this year and follow other unacceptable breaches of the inviolability of and interference with UNRWA premises in occupied East Jerusalem, including the seizure and demolition of the Sheikh Jarrah compound, as well as the cutting off the supply of water and electricity services to multiple UNRWA facilities. These actions take place in the context of domestic legislation which significantly impedes UNRWA from fulfilling the mandate in the Occupied Palestine Territory entrusted to it by the General Assembly, most recently in resolution 80/78. I reiterate my call for the repeal of the legislation.
UNRWA says Israeli forcesâ raid into Kalandia centre unacceptable, deeply concerning
JERUSALEM, August 25, 2026 (WAFA) â The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said in a press statement today that Israeli forces forcibly raided its Kalandia Training Centre (KTC) in occupied East Jerusalem at around 10:00 a.m., with at least four armored vehicles and more than 50 Israeli security personnel, while approximately 20 UNRWA staff members were on site.
According to the statement, Israeli officials subsequently made public statements indicating that the premises had been seized by the Israeli authorities.
UNRWA unequivocally condemned this unauthorized and deeply concerning incursion into the Kalandia Training Centre.
Israeli forces raid Qalandiya, Kafr Aqab and move to evict UNRWA facility
Far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir took part in the raid and said Israeli authorities had begun what he described as an âoperation to evacuate the building,â claiming that âthere is no place for the agency in Jerusalem and Israel.â
The sources added that Israeli forces detained 40 employees and others present at the Qalandiya Training Institute and subjected them to questioning,
The occupation forces also distributed notices to several homes and facilities near the apartheid wall in the Kafr Aqab area, coinciding with the tightening of military measures in the region.
In Kafr Aqab, Israeli forces evacuated the Qalandiya Vocational Training Center, run by UNRWA, and began demolishing its facilities.
Israel intensifies raids on UNRWA facilities in occupied West Bank

The Israeli army raided UNRWAâs vocational facilities in Qalandiya and Kafr Aqab, which provide services for about 16,000 Palestinian refugees from across the occupied West Bank, says journalist Sarah Abu Alrob from Ramallah.
âThis comes within a larger campaign where the Israeli government has been calling to dismantle the UNRWA organisation that provides educational, medical and social services to Palestinian refugees who are still in the occupied West Bank,â she told Al Jazeera.
A UN spokesperson said that three UN warehouses were damaged in an Israeli air strike on Sunday, with one significantly affected.

US removes Syria from state sponsor of terrorism list
The US State Department on Monday removed Syria from its list of state sponsors of terrorism, fulfilling President Donald Trump‘s commitment to provide sanctions relief to the post-Assad government.
Syria is no longer subject to prohibitions under the Terrorism List Governments Sanctions Regulations, according to the Treasury Department‘s Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Washington revoked the designation of the al-Nusrah Front, also known as Hay‘at Tahrir al-Sham, as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist organization.
Syrian Kurdish leader announces SDF dissolution after integration into army
Mazloum Abdi, the commander-in-chief of the Syrian Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Tuesday announced the dissolution of the group in a televised speech from the presidential palace in Damascus. The dissolution followed the integration of SDF fighters into the Syrian military, said Abdi, and represented a major victory for Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

Greece moves Patriot system to Crete over reported Iran threats to US bases
The battery was moved from the eastern island of Karpathos to Crete, where there is a major US base at Souda, the reports said.
The aim is to bolster air defence around Souda‘s strategically important naval and air facilities, which serve both the Greek Armed Forces and the United States and NATO.
The Souda base plays a pivotal role in supporting allied operations across the wider region, making its protection particularly critical under the current security conditions.

Baghaei said Iran would strike U.S. bases in European countries if those states became involved in what he called aggression against Iran. He added that Tehran had no reason to consider any country a threat unless it allowed the United States to use its territory or airspace to launch attacks on Iran.
